Besides, there are achieved less handling times and less risk for loosing pipes in the drilling hole. There is also achieved more continuous drilling, at the same time as most of the working operations take place on the working deck, i.e. on a low level relative to the derrick.

Abstract

Le dispositif et le procédé décrits servent à placer dans une position essentiellement verticale des éléments de conduite se trouvant dans une position essentiellement horizontale, en relation notamment avec un derrick se trouvant de préférence sur une plate-forme de forage flottante. Afin de supprimer les dispositifs existants de stockage vertical de conduites et tout équipement de manipulation de conduites associé et en même temps afin d'obtenir une structure de derrick simplifiée et une plate-forme ayant un point de gravité situé à un niveau inférieur, on produit selon la présente invention un dispositif de manipulation comprenant une unité allongée (51), fixée de façon rotative au niveau de sa première extrémité (52) au dispositif de levage (53) du derrick et disposée au niveau de sa seconde extrémité (56) de façon à pouvoir se déplacer le long du plan de travail (58) de la plate-forme de forage. L'unité (51) comprend un organe de serrage (59, 64) servant à maintenir des longueurs de conduite (60, 60n) constituées de préférence par des éléments de conduite préassemblés (60a, 60b, 60c). Etant donné que le dispositif de manipulation de conduites suit le mouvement du dispositif de levage, on risque moins facilement de perdre les conduites dans le trou de forage et on obtient une économie de temps totale et un forage plus suivi.
