Definitions
- the present invention relates to a bitumen sealing membrane with two carrier inserts and at least outer bitumen layers (polymer bitumen layers).
- Bitumen waterproofing membranes of the type mentioned at the outset which have a multilayer structure, are often used for sealing, in particular flat roofs.
- two different types of carrier inlays are provided, each of which is provided with additional (outer) bitumen layers.
- a carrier insert has been made of inorganic substances, for example glass fleece or glass fabric, while the second insert has been made of organic substances, for example polye fabric or polyester fleece, can be produced.
- both carrier inlays are formed from polymer fibers, specifically preferably a polyester fleece, a polyester polyamide or a polyester copolyester. Furthermore, it is proposed to dimension the carrier inserts equally.
- the invention is based on the idea of installing two carrier inlays which lie together or which are separated from one another by an intermediate layer of, for example, polymer-modified bitumen, and which have the same physical and chemical behavior.
- the strengths of tensile loads add up, since the carrier inserts have the same elongation behavior.
- different expansions or shrinkages, in particular when exposed to temperature are avoided.
- the carrier inlays are made from, for example, a polyester fleece, very high strengths can be achieved with high elasticity.
- Such carrier inserts are also resistant to moisture ingress.
- the same carrier inlays exhibit isotropic behavior.
- a (central) intermediate layer is arranged between the carrier inserts, which preferably consists of the material of the outer layers, that is to say is also formed as a bitumen layer.
- the result is a sandwich construction in which the carrier inlays used to absorb mechanical stress are laid through the bitumen layer arranged between them to the edge areas, which are particularly robust from a mechanical point of view, while the middle bitumen layer, which is not mechanically strong, lies in the "neutral zone", i.e. hardly causes any noteworthy weakening, but in contrast to the thicker core inserts that are otherwise required, it guarantees the good rolling and adapting properties required for the bitumen waterproofing membrane.
- the middle bitumen layer together with the two outer bitumen layers, completely embeds the two carrier inserts, thereby ensuring that the polyester fleece is completely saturated with polymer bitumen.
- the bitumen covering sheet there is at least one fire-retardant reinforcement in the bitumen covering sheet arranged.
- the fire-retardant reinforcement is expediently designed as a mesh-like grid glass scrim, which is arranged above the upper carrier insert, and in particular is preferably glued to the upper carrier insert.
- the grid glass scrim prevents material from the upper bitumen layer, which is heated due to the increased heat coming in from outside, from passing through the bitumen sealing membrane into the interior of a building covered with it or the like. At the same time, the grid glass scrim also serves to stabilize the bitumen sealing membrane.
- the bitumen sealing membrane shown in FIG. 1 consists of several layers of a bituminous covering, in particular polymer bitumen or bitumen copolymer. Several, namely two carrier inserts are embedded in these. This results in a layer structure such that a first or upper or outer carrier insert 12 made of polymer fibers, in particular polyester nonwoven, is embedded between an outer or upper bitumen layer 10 and a second, inner or middle bitumen layer 11. Between the middle bitumen layer 11 and the third, inner or lower bitumen layer 13 is the second, lower or inner carrier insert 14 made of the same material with the same structure as the carrier insert 12, that is to say in particular of polyester fleece.
- the two carrier inserts 12 and 14 are dimensioned identically in the present exemplary embodiment, namely, as can be seen from FIG. 1, have approximately the same thickness or thickness.
- the polyester fleece of the two carrier inserts 12 and 14 has different specific weights, while the upper or outer carrier insert 12 is formed from a polyester fleece with a specific weight of 200 g / m 2, the lower or inner carrier insert 14 has one Polyester fleece with a specific weight of 150 g / qm.
- the individual layers of the bitumen waterproofing membrane shown in FIG. 1 have a special thickness ratio. Accordingly, the middle bitumen layer 11 is thinner than the two carrier layers 12 and 14 of approximately the same thickness here.
- the upper or outer bitumen layer 10 is several times thicker than the middle bitumen layer 11.
- the lower bitumen layer 13 is again thicker than the upper bitumen layer 10, namely here has approximately twice the thickness of the latter bitumen layer 10.
- the two carrier inserts 12 and 14 can be dimensioned differently in terms of their thickness or thickness.
- the upper carrier insert 12 preferably has a greater thickness than the lower carrier insert 14. It is also conceivable to form the upper and lower bitumen layers 10 and 13 approximately the same thickness.
- surface protection in particular slate 15, is also applied to the upper or outer side, namely to the bitumen layer 10.
- the slate 15 has the task of further increasing the UV resistance of the upper bitumen layer 10.
- the lower or inner side of the bitumen layer 13 is also covered, specifically by a separating layer 16 which is pulled off before the bitumen sealing sheet is glued or is melted when the bitumen sealing sheet is welded.
- the second exemplary embodiment of the bitumen sealing membrane shown in FIG. 2 differs from the above-described (first) exemplary embodiment in that the carrier inserts 12 and 14 lie together, that is to say there is no (middle) bitumen layer 11 between them.
- Such a bitumen sealing membrane can be formed in that two separately prefabricated membranes, each with a carrier insert 12 or 14, are brought together and connected to the carrier inserts 12 and 14 in a suitable manner, for example by adhesive bonding. This can possibly form a thin middle layer between the carrier inserts 12 and 14, which is not shown or recognizable in FIG. 2.
- the polyester fleece for the carrier inserts 12 and 14 is made of the outer bitumen layers 10 and 13 and, if appropriate, of completely soaked the middle bitumen layer 11.
- a connection (gluing) of the same can also take place.
- the third exemplary embodiment of the bitumen sealing sheet according to the invention shown in FIG. 3 differs from that of FIG. 1 by the absence of the upper covering layer, namely the slate 15. This can be omitted if the bitumen layers 10, 11 and 13 are UV radiation-insensitive material, for example plastomer bitumen, are produced.
- the fourth exemplary embodiment of the bitumen sealing membrane according to the invention shown in FIG. 4 is provided with a further reinforcement, namely a grid glass fabric 17.
- this is arranged between the outer or upper bitumen layer 10 and the upper or outer carrier insert 12, specifically preferably connected to the carrier insert 12 by gluing or the like.
- the grid glass scrim 17 is preferably designed like a net.
- the strands consisting of glass or glass fiber-like material can have a diameter of approximately 0.5 mm. With this mesh-like design of the lattice glass fabric 17, the connection thereof to the carrier insert 12 takes place predominantly in the area of the nodes of the strands or fibers.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a bitumen sealing membrane with two carrier inserts and at least outer bitumen layers (polymer bitumen layers).
Bitumen waterproofing membranes of the type mentioned at the outset, which have a multilayer structure, are often used for sealing, in particular flat roofs. In the case of higher quality requirements, two different types of carrier inlays are provided, each of which is provided with additional (outer) bitumen layers.
So far, a carrier insert has been made of inorganic substances, for example glass fleece or glass fabric, while the second insert has been made of organic substances, for example polye fabric or polyester fleece, can be produced. These combinations attempt to obtain better mechanical stability of the bitumen waterproofing membrane. Since the individual carrier inserts of this known bitumen waterproofing membrane have very different physical properties, it follows that with constant temperature changes, mechanical effects due to the different expansion of the carrier inserts lead to deformations of the carrier inserts and stresses in the same, which can impair the functionality of the seal.
Starting from the above-mentioned prior art, it is the object of the present invention to develop a bitumen sealing membrane of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the disadvantages mentioned above are avoided.
This object is achieved in a surprisingly simple manner in that the carrier inserts consist of the same material. In particular, both carrier inlays are formed from polymer fibers, specifically preferably a polyester fleece, a polyester polyamide or a polyester copolyester. Furthermore, it is proposed to dimension the carrier inserts equally.
The invention is based on the idea of installing two carrier inlays which lie together or which are separated from one another by an intermediate layer of, for example, polymer-modified bitumen, and which have the same physical and chemical behavior. As a result, the strengths of tensile loads add up, since the carrier inserts have the same elongation behavior. Furthermore, different expansions or shrinkages, in particular when exposed to temperature, are avoided. When the carrier inlays are made from, for example, a polyester fleece, very high strengths can be achieved with high elasticity. Such carrier inserts are also resistant to moisture ingress. Finally, the same carrier inlays exhibit isotropic behavior.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the bitumen sealing membrane according to the invention, a (central) intermediate layer is arranged between the carrier inserts, which preferably consists of the material of the outer layers, that is to say is also formed as a bitumen layer. The result is a sandwich construction in which the carrier inlays used to absorb mechanical stress are laid through the bitumen layer arranged between them to the edge areas, which are particularly robust from a mechanical point of view, while the middle bitumen layer, which is not mechanically strong, lies in the "neutral zone", i.e. hardly causes any noteworthy weakening, but in contrast to the thicker core inserts that are otherwise required, it guarantees the good rolling and adapting properties required for the bitumen waterproofing membrane.
In addition, the middle bitumen layer, together with the two outer bitumen layers, completely embeds the two carrier inserts, thereby ensuring that the polyester fleece is completely saturated with polymer bitumen. The use of otherwise necessary low-viscosity impregnation materials, which would harden the bitumen waterproofing membrane after hardening, can be avoided in this way.
If one of the carrier inserts is damaged for unforeseen reasons, the other remains in operation with the same physical behavior, even if the outer carrier insert is damaged.
According to a further proposal of the invention, there is at least one fire-retardant reinforcement in the bitumen covering sheet arranged. This prevents the bitumen sealing membrane according to the invention from burning through in the event of a fire, or at least considerably inhibits it. The fire-retardant reinforcement is expediently designed as a mesh-like grid glass scrim, which is arranged above the upper carrier insert, and in particular is preferably glued to the upper carrier insert. There is an increase in the bitumen waterproofing membrane's resistance to flying sparks and radiant heat, i.e. external heat. Above all, the grid glass scrim prevents material from the upper bitumen layer, which is heated due to the increased heat coming in from outside, from passing through the bitumen sealing membrane into the interior of a building covered with it or the like. At the same time, the grid glass scrim also serves to stabilize the bitumen sealing membrane.

The bitumen sealing membrane shown in FIG. 1 consists of several layers of a bituminous covering, in particular polymer bitumen or bitumen copolymer. Several, namely two carrier inserts are embedded in these. This results in a layer structure such that a first or upper or outer carrier insert 12 made of polymer fibers, in particular polyester nonwoven, is embedded between an outer or
According to the invention, the individual layers of the bitumen waterproofing membrane shown in FIG. 1 have a special thickness ratio. Accordingly, the
Alternatively, it is conceivable to dimension the two carrier inserts 12 and 14 differently in terms of their thickness or thickness. In this case, the upper carrier insert 12 preferably has a greater thickness than the lower carrier insert 14. It is also conceivable to form the upper and
In the present case, surface protection, in
The second exemplary embodiment of the bitumen sealing membrane shown in FIG. 2 differs from the above-described (first) exemplary embodiment in that the carrier inserts 12 and 14 lie together, that is to say there is no (middle)
In both exemplary embodiments of the bitumen sealing membrane, the polyester fleece for the
The third exemplary embodiment of the bitumen sealing sheet according to the invention shown in FIG. 3 differs from that of FIG. 1 by the absence of the upper covering layer, namely the
Finally, in contrast to those of the previous exemplary embodiments, the fourth exemplary embodiment of the bitumen sealing membrane according to the invention shown in FIG. 4 is provided with a further reinforcement, namely a grid glass fabric 17. In the present exemplary embodiment, this is arranged between the outer or
The grid glass scrim 17 is preferably designed like a net. The strands consisting of glass or glass fiber-like material can have a diameter of approximately 0.5 mm. With this mesh-like design of the lattice glass fabric 17, the connection thereof to the
Due to the mesh-like structure of the lattice glass scrim 17, it is ensured on the one hand that through the meshes thereof, a soaking of the
