Description

The invention relates to a machine clothing, in particular paper machine felt or wire, with a flat fabric, at least two-ply fabric, the longitudinal threads of which incorporate the layers of transverse threads to form cranks and are woven back into the fabric at the front and rear fabric edges to form loops , wherein a part of the loops are designed as seam loops projecting over the fabric edges for a plug wire seam connection.

For paper machine clothing, flat or double-layer or multi-layer fabrics are often used. Flat fabrics of this type are distinguished by the fact that the individual layers are essentially formed by the transverse threads and each longitudinal thread integrates transverse threads from all layers with the formation of offsets. Such a flat fabric is shown in DE-PS 28 06 742 as a carrier fabric for a dry felt cloth.

In the case of these flat fabrics, the two fabric edges running transversely to the longitudinal threads are formed by weaving the longitudinal threads back into the fabric body with the formation of loops, specifically in the plane of an adjacent longitudinal thread, which is shortened so far, that its end meets the end face of the backwoven longitudinal thread section. The backwoven longitudinal thread section is bound in such a way that it continues the weave of the shortened longitudinal thread up to the fabric edge. A part of the loops is formed so that they protrude a good distance over the fabric edges. They then form seam loops for a plug wire seam connection. For this purpose, the seam loops of the one fabric edge are arranged in relation to those of the other fabric edge in such a way that they mesh overlap with each other when the fabric edges are brought together, so that a channel for the passage of a plug wire is created. The plug wire then forms the coupling of the fabric edges on both sides, so that an endless machine covering is created.

In the previously known, flat-woven fabrics, the seam loops are closed towards the fabric edge because the longitudinal threads forming the seam loops cross again in the area of the fabric edge. This crossing is the logical continuation of the fabric scheme up to the fabric edge.

With this design, the seam loops close very tightly around the plug wire under tensile load, as a result of which the introduction of force into the fabric body is unfavorable. In addition, the insertion of the plug wire is extremely difficult during assembly under tensile load.

The invention has for its object to form the seam loops in a machine clothing of the type mentioned so that the introduction of force in the fabric body is cheaper and the assembly is easier under tensile loads.

This object is achieved in that all seam loops are U-shaped and open towards the fabric edge.

According to the invention, the longitudinal threads that are to form seam loops are guided in the area of the fabric edge in such a way that they no longer cross over but essentially run straight out of the fabric or into it. This creates a seam loop that is open towards the edge of the fabric and that cannot close even under strong tension. Accordingly, the forces that occur are better introduced and distributed into the tissue body. The insertion of a plug wire is relatively easy even under tensile load, since the loop remains open even under this load.

In an embodiment of the invention it is provided that the longitudinal threads forming the seam loops on the inside of transverse threads emerge from the fabric edge and re-enter it. This known guiding of the longitudinal threads is particularly advantageous for the formation of the seam loops according to the invention, because the last crossing of the longitudinal threads lies particularly far away from the fabric edge, so that very open seam loops are created. The transverse threads on the fabric edge offer little resistance if they are pushed apart under tensile stress on the seam loops.

The seam loop shape according to the invention also opens up the possibility of using additional filler threads therein. This allows the permeability in the seam area those in the other areas of the machine clothing are adapted. So that these filler threads have a good hold, they should be bound by part of the loops forming the fabric edges, while the other part does not bind the filler threads and therefore presses them into the seam loop.

Finally, the invention provides that the ends of the longitudinal threads are woven back in such a way that they continue the binding of the adjacent longitudinal thread. This known guiding of the longitudinal threads achieves a particularly good introduction of force of the longitudinal threads forming the seam loops into the fabric body.

The invention is illustrated in more detail in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment. It shows a longitudinal section through the seam region of a double-layer paper machine fabric (1), which is particularly suitable as a carrier fabric for a press felt with a seam. For this purpose, a fleece is placed on the top of the paper machine fabric (1) and this is then needled to the paper machine fabric (1).

The paper machine fabric (1) consists of two layers of monofilament transverse threads - denoted by (2) for example - as well as longitudinal threads, of which only two longitudinal threads (3, 4) or (5, 6) are shown on each side. All longitudinal threads (3 , 4, 5, 6) tie the transverse threads (2) into offsets - for example designated by (7) -, each longitudinal thread (3, 4, 5, 6) having a transverse thread (2) in the lower layer after binding Cross thread (2) ties in the top layer. The paper machine fabric (1) is thus a flat fabric produced.

The majority of the longitudinal threads (4, 6) form narrow loops (10, 11) in the region of the fabric edges (8, 9) and are then woven back into the paper machine fabric (1). The woven-back sections (12, 13) then run in mirror image to bind the associated longitudinal threads (4, 6). The areas (12, 13) which have been woven back end in the regions which are no longer shown here. There they meet the shortened end of an adjacent longitudinal thread.

Part of the longitudinal threads (3, 5) form projecting seam loops (14, 15) over the fabric edges (8, 9). With their leading part and with their woven-back sections (16, 17), they each pass the last pair of transverse threads (2) on the inside and then diverge again without crossing. In the illustration shown, the seam loops (14, 15) of both fabric edges (8, 9) are brought into meshing overlap, so that a channel (18) is formed parallel to the fabric edges (8, 9), through which a plug wire (19) is used Coupling is inserted. The seam is closed by the plug wire (19).

The special loops open the seam loops (14, 15) to the fabric edges (8, 9). In the event of tensile stress, the two pairs of transverse threads (2) on the fabric edges (8, 9) are pressed apart so that the legs of the seam loops (14, 15) run straight into or out of the fabric. Since the longitudinal threads (3, 5) bind the subsequent pair of transverse threads (2) on the outside, the seam loops (14, 15) remain under strong Tensile stress to the respective fabric edges (8, 9) open. Otherwise, the woven back sections (16, 17) of the longitudinal threads (3, 5) forming the seam loops (14, 15) correspond to the woven back sections (12, 13) of the longitudinal threads (4, 6) performed.

A filler thread (20, 21) is also inserted in each of the seam loops (14, 15). The filler threads (20, 21) are bound in by the loops (10, 11) of the longitudinal threads (4, 6). Further longitudinal threads, not shown here, run between the last pair of transverse threads (2) and the filler threads (20, 21 ), whereby these are pressed in the direction of the plug wire (19). In this way they are fixed in their position.
