Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to a mechanical device to be applied to machines for assembling box-like sole shoes and adapted for spreading apart the edge portion of the shoe edge.
- As is known, there are presently available on the market shoes processing machines which are able of automatically assembling the parts of box-like sole shoes;such a mchine,for example,is fully disclosed and illustrated in the copending italian patent application 20,892 A/83 filed on May 2,1983 in the name of the same Applicant.
- These machines essentially comprise a movable arm, bearing a shoe tree thereon the shoe upper,inner sole and box-like sole are mounted.
- The mounting operation of the mentioned shoe parts, on the other hand,is presently carried out in a manual way and is a comparatively difficult operation since the profile of the sole edge substantially reproduces the perimetrical outline of the upper,encompassing the shoe tree.
- Thus,for coupling the above mentioned shoe parts a lot of labour is required for properly manually superimposing the shoe sole edge on the perimetrical portions of the shoe upper.
- The assembling operation,moreover is made more difficult because of the fact that,on the upper edge to be inserted into the sole,and on the corresponding edge of said sole,there is applied an adhesive layer,with a further step which causes the cost of the finished shoe to greatly increase.
- It should moreover be pointed out that the above disclosed shoe assembling method does not afford the possibility of fully exploiting the capabilities of the shoe making machines.
- Accordingly, the main object of the present invention is to overcome the above mentioned drawback, by providing such a mechanical device, to be applied to machines for assembling box-like sole shoes,which affords the possibility of automatically assembling the shoe soles and uppers.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide such a mechanical device to be applied to machines for assembling box-like sole shoes which is effective to greatly increase the shoe making machines production rate.
- Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a mechanical device to be applied to machines for assembling box-like sole shoes which is construction-wise very simple and reliable.
- According to one aspect of the present invention, the above objects,as well as yet other objects which will become more apparent thereinafter,are achieved by a mechanical device,to be applied to machines for assembling box-like sole shoes characterized in that it essentially comprises a vertically movable plate on the top face of which there is formed the impression of a sole and therewith a first pair of opposite section members,adapted for engaging the sole in said impression,and a second pair of opposite section members, bearing a plurality of downwardly extending lugs, cooperate,said lugs being provided for insertion into the edge of said sole to spread apart its edge.
- Further characteristics and advantages of the mechanical device to be applied to machines for assembling and box-like sole shoes according to the present invention will become more apparent thereinafter from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the device,which is illustrated by way of a not limitative example in the figures of the accompanying drawings,where:
- fig.1 is a perspective view illustrating the plate in which the shoe sole impression is formed, with the movable section member adjoining pairs;
- fig.2 illustrates the same plate with a shoe sole engaged in the impression;
- fig.3 illustrates the spreading apart operation carried out by the top section member pair on the sole edge;
- fig.4 illustrates in a schematic manner the step for automatically inserting the tree arranged shoe upper into the related sole;
and - fig.5 illustrates a box-like sole shoe in a completely assembled condition.
- With reference to the figures of the accompanying drawings,the mechanical device according to the present invention comprises a substantially rectangular elongated plate 1,arranged in a horizontal plane and mounted on one or more double acting lower cylinders,having vertical axes and not specifically shown.
- On the plate 1 there is defined the impression or "print" of a box-
like shoe sole 3,which is arranged near a first pair ofopposite section members 4 adapted for parallely moving and which longitudinally reproduce the outline of the sole. - Above said first section member pair there is provided a further opposite section member pair (5), which are also movable in the horizontal plane,and bear a plurality of downwardly extending
lugs 6. - The mentioned opposite section members are preferably formed in two adjoining mutually movable portions.
- This displacement is carried out by a corresponding pairs of double acting cylinders,respectively indicated at 7 for the upper section members and 8 for the lower section members,or by other driving equivalent means.
- The subject device operates as follows:
- the operator inserts the box-like sole into the impression or seat formed on the top face of the plate 1,and the plate is downwardly displaced while the opposite section members pair are moved toward one another,depending on the sole outline,so as to engage the inner portion of the
sole edge 9 with the lugs of the top section member pairs,as the plate is returned to its starting position. - Then the above mentioned top section member pairs are moved away,as shown in fig.3,thereby spreading apart the
edge 9 of said sole. - Thus the sole will be ready for receiving the shoe upper 10,arranged on the tree,indicated at 11, provided at the bottom of a
movable arm 12 adapted to be translated and rotated with respect to a horizontal axis. - In this connection it should be pointed out that the separation stroke of the slanted lug (6) bearing section members,for spreading apart the shoe
sole edge 9,is suitably restrained depending on the sole size and,possibly,on the height of the edge of said sole. - More specifically that stroke is restrained, preferably,by further double acting
cylinder pairs 13, the displacement of the rods of which is preset depending on the above mentioned parameters. - Moreover at the bottom end of stroke position of the shoe tree,two "flashes" will be provided for activating the adhesive material preliminarily applied to the soles and uppers,before the coupling step.
- While the invention has been disclosed with reference to a preferred embodiment thereof,it should be apparent that it is susceptible to many modifications and variations within its scope.
