Description

The present invention relates to an arrangement for supplying a fiber processing machine according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such an arrangement is already known from European Patent Application No. 0 175 851. According to this, an improved homogeneity of the fiber material accumulated in the filling shaft is obtained by the provision of a deflection element or a baffle.

It has now been found that with an arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1, simple means once again bring about a considerable improvement in the fiber material located in the filling shaft, i.e. the template located in the filling shaft can be obtained. The improvement consists in a better homogeneity and greater compactness of the template.

According to the invention, the arrangement has the features listed in the characterizing part of claim 1.

The invention thus provides the additional advantages that changes in shape of existing systems, in particular additional space requirements, or bulky units to be attached or are not necessary.

It should be noted that in the patent application mentioned at the outset, the higher homogeneity of the original is obtained by reducing the kinetic energy of the incoming flakes and by deflecting them. The question may therefore arise whether the flock speed is not further increased by the blades additionally provided according to the invention and thus the homogeneity of the original is deteriorated. In this context, it should be noted that the filling shaft is closed relatively well at the location of the opening roller and the two pinch rollers, so that as a result of the blades there is only a slight increase in the outside air entering the shaft from the outside, and therefore assuming a constant rotational speed of the roller , there is no cause for a much higher speed of the same.

On the other hand, there is a noticeable increase in the air pressure at the inlet of the filling shaft and thus on the template in it. The increased air pressure or the increased air throughput causes the original to be compressed more. The compression of the original is namely generated by the pressure acting on it and by the amount of air passing through it. One obtains a greater compression of the same, since, as practice shows, surprisingly an additional homogeneity of the template occurs in that the fiber flakes are pressed closer together in such a way that fiber material in particular is pushed into the cavities initially present between the flakes, so that the Cavities are filled with fibers and can thus be eliminated in this way in addition to being compressed.

  • Fig. 1 eine schematische Seitenansicht einer erfindungsgemässen Anordnung,
  • Fig. 3 eine Darstellung einer speziellen Flügelausbildung.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments and the figures of the drawing. In the latter is
  • 1 is a schematic side view of an arrangement according to the invention,
  • Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of the area comprising the opening roller and the pinch roller, and
  • Fig. 3 shows a special wing design.

In the figures, the same parts are provided with the same reference symbols.

Fiber material transported by a conveyor channel (not shown) is collected in a discharge head 11. From the head 11 it enters a feed shaft 12. At its lower end there are two feed rollers 13 forming a clamping line with one another. A perforated wall separates the shaft 12 from a calming space 14 which leads to an exhaust air housing 15 which has an air outlet opening 16.

An opening roller 17 is provided immediately after the feed rollers 13. Distributed over the outer surface 18 of the needles 19 are attached to it. In addition, a deflection element 20 and an impact element 21 are provided. The deflection element 20 is pivotable about an axis 22 and adjustable in different angular positions. The impact element 21 in turn can be adjusted as desired between the positions shown in broken lines. From the opening roller 17, the flake material released by the needles 19 is thrown into the filling or feed chute 23. In this, the flakes are collected into a template 24, which is then conveyed further by means not shown, which are located at the lower end of the shaft 23, and finally arrives at a carding cylinder, also not shown, of a card.

In addition to the needles 19, there are also wings 25 on the cylindrical part of the opening roller 17. They are strip-shaped and run parallel to the surface lines of the outer surface 18 and thus perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.

In the operation of the arrangement shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the fiber flakes flown into the separating head 11 are collected in the feed shaft 12. This takes place by means of an air flow flowing from the head 11 via the shaft 12 and through the space 14, which flows out again through the housing 15 and the opening 16. The collected flake material 26 is fed by means of the feed rollers 13 to the opening roller 17, which rotates continuously in the direction of arrow 27 about its axis during operation. The needles 19 tear fiber material in the form of cotton flakes with them and hurl it into the filling shaft 23, in which it falls down and is compressed into the template 24.

According to the invention, wings 25 are also provided in addition to the needles 19. These are shaped as elongated strips which are parallel to the generatrices of the cylinder of the roller 17 and extend outwards from the circumferential surface 18 thereof stretch. In the examples shown in the figures, they are bent backwards with respect to the direction of rotation of the roller 17 shown by the arrow 27. In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the needles 19 form rows which run along surface lines of the cylindrical part of the roller 17. There is a wing 25 between each two adjacent rows of needles. Each of the strip-shaped wings 25 extends in its longitudinal direction in the direction parallel to the surface lines over the entire length of the roller 17. The height of the wings 25 above the outer surface 18 is smaller than that Height of the needles above the outer surface 18.

In embodiments of opening rollers, in which the rows of needles run obliquely to the generatrices, the course of the wings 25, since these lie parallel to the rows of needles, is also oblique with respect to the generatrices. In order to obtain the advantages according to the invention, the wings 25 do not have to be exactly parallel to the surface lines. However, they are advantageously "essentially" parallel to these.

As already mentioned at the beginning, the vanes 25 bring about a better entrainment of the air, so that the provision of the vanes 25 increases the air throughput, which, however, always takes on very modest values, and, above all, increases the air pressure in the filling duct 23. This results in a heavier and more uniform template 24 than would be the case without wings. The increased air pressure and the greater air throughput result in a more even distribution of the fiber material because it is moved more vigorously, and possibly with transverse movements, into the empty spaces that may initially be present between individual flakes. Since between the feed rollers 13 the fiber material is pressed together and to the side of this pair of rollers between the rollers 13 and the element 20 or the end edge 28 of the curved part of the shaft 23, there is only a minimal gap, so, as also mentioned at the outset, effect the same Rotation speed of the roller 17, the vanes 25 no noticeable increase in the speed of the flakes flying away, but only an increase in the naturally very modest air throughput through the template 24.

Tests have shown that with the arrangement according to the invention a beautiful, uniform template is obtained, the template weight of which increased by 20% compared to a template formed by an opener roller without a wing from 610 g / m to 730 g / m.

A clear improvement was also found with regard to the uniformity of the template 24 produced: for example, the variation coefficient CVim was 3.6% for a card sliver produced without wing 25 on the opening roller 17 of the feed chute, while the corresponding value of that with wing 25 on the opening roller 17 card sliver produced was 2.96%.

The element 20 and the organ 21 serve primarily to reduce the kinetic energy of the flakes and to distribute them evenly. The use of each of the action members 20, 21 alone or both together in combination with the present invention therefore results in an additional homogenization of the template 24.

In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the vanes 25 are bent back over their entire width with respect to the direction of rotation of the roller 17 shown by the arrow 27. The purpose of bending is to prevent fibers from getting caught. The use of such wings results in the further advantage that the swirling of the flakes becomes smaller in the feed chute 23, which also has a positive effect on the uniformity of the feed. In another embodiment, not shown, they have the shape of flat strips which can even be perpendicular to the lateral surface 18. In a still further embodiment, they are bent back only at their wing part which is remote from the lateral surface and extends in the longitudinal direction of the wing.

Such an example is shown in FIG. The wing 25 has a strip-shaped section 33 facing the jacket 18, which is flat. However, a strip-shaped wing part 29 facing away from the lateral surface 18 and one longitudinal side of which is delimited by a free edge 30 is bent. It has a bend in which, at the location of the free edge 30, the tangents 31 perpendicular to the latter on the wing part 29 coincide with the tangents which, at this location, bear against the cylindrical surface 32 described by the edge 30 during its rotation.

Good results are generally achieved if the height of the wings is above the lateral surface in a range which is between half and two thirds of the height of the needles.

It has proven to be advantageous to manufacture the wings 25 from a solid material.
