Definitions

  • the present invention relates to installations which are intended to ensure the drying of skeins of threads or yarns.
  • the threads or yarns are arranged in the form of skeins which are supported by two bars oriented horizontally, parallel to each other at two levels, these bars being -same supported by the lateral shoulders of boxes suitably provided for this purpose.
  • an operator manually grasps the skeins and loads them, still by hand in a machine which performs their centrifugation, thereby removing most of the liquid. The remaining part of it is eliminated by introducing the centrifuged skeins into a dryer.
  • the operator enters, still manually, the skeins using the bars which support them and, after having removed one of them, he arranges the skeins on a pressing machine which is essentially formed by two opposite drums, one of which, provided mobile, is associated with a pneumatic type damping device.
  • the skeins must be subjected to a drying operation in order to complete the elimination of the liquid which they still contain.
  • the drying is carried out in enclosures inside which is blown air previously heated by means of heat exchange with water vapor or the like; the circuit is open, in the sense that after having finished its journey inside the enclosure, the hot air is directly discharged into the external atmosphere.
  • the skeins are moved to pass through a series of stations with different temperatures before being evacuated from the enclosure.
  • the purpose of the present invention is basically to provide an automatic installation capable of optimizing the functional character of an assembly operating according to the second treatment process, and this in particular comprising: - a device which no longer uses only one, but two pairs of pressing drums, so as to compress the skeins over their entire length; - a device suitable for loading on suitable racks the skeins already pressed, ensuring the release of said skeins from the bars which support them; - and a dryer in which hot air is recirculated with permanent control of the temperature and humidity of the outgoing air, which is not directly discharged to the outside, but is instead sent to a heating coil to be reintroduced into the drying chamber; it is only when it has reached a predetermined rate of reletive humidity that the hot air is expelled to the outside, not without having previously transferred its heat to the fresh air at an appropriate exchanger.
  • the installation according to the invention is as defined in claim 1.
  • the installation shown in fig. 1 includes a device 1 for the automatic displacement of the skeins out of the dye boxes, an automatic device 2 for the pressing of the skeins, a device 3 for transferring them in a direction orthogonal to the previous direction of advance, a device 4 for separating the support bars, a device 5 for taking the skeins and for placing them on the rack of a dryer 6, a device 7 for detaching the skeins from the aforementioned rack, and finally an evacuation conveyor belt 8.
  • each box 9 containing the skeins is lifted by an appropriate element 10 which brings said box to the sampling station.
  • pushers 10 ⁇ suitably arranged push the bars 11, 11 ⁇ forward and with them the skeins 12, until they are brought opposite the outlet opening of the box; at this moment they are grasped by a pair of pliers 13 and 14, the pliers 13 bringing the bar 11 ⁇ to the level of the other bar 11.
  • clamps have each skein on an accumulation chain 16 which ensures the subsequent advance of the bars; at the end of this path, other clamps 17 are provided which have the two bars and the corresponding skein on a second chain 18, the arrangement of which can be better seen in FIG. 3.
  • this chain 18 includes supports 19 for moving the bars 11, these supports being constituted by sheet metal elements which are suitably profiled by folding and which comprise an opening in which the lateral ends of said bars can be accommodated, this arrangement being made in the manner known per se.
  • This second chain 18 is the one which will ensure the advance of the skeins throughout the pressing station.
  • the pressing station comprises a second drum 25 placed below the drum 20 and which, on the other hand, is positively driven in rotation.
  • This drum 25 is carried by an arm 26 which is articulated by one end on a fixed pivot 27; a pneumatic spring 28 acts on this arm 26.
  • a clamp 29 comes to grip the upper part of said skein.
  • this second pair of drums 32 and 33 is quite similar to the previous drums, both in terms of their function and their structural arrangement. They are mounted on arms 34, respectively 35, and on the idler upper drum 32 acts a hydraulic cylinder 36 which operates its lowering when a position detector signals the arrival of the skein; a pneumatic spring 37 acts on this arm 35.
  • a pusher 38 which operates the transfer of the bars on a second accumulation chain 39.
  • a motorized carriage 40 transfers the bars and the skeins in a direction orthogonal to the direction of advance followed at the pressing station.
  • the carriage 40 to support a horizontal pneumatic deflector 41 which is in turn provided with a mechanism 42 fitted with two pairs of clamps 43.
  • Each of these clamps is actuated by a pneumatic cylinder 44 and is capable of gripping one of the ends of the bars 11 and 11 ⁇ to pass them from the accumulation conveyor 39 to the station for unloading the bars.
  • the mechanism 42 is provided with a vertical pneumatic deflector 45 which operates the loading and unloading of the hank bars.
  • the clamps 43 retain between themselves and an element 43 ⁇ the aforementioned bars to bring them to the unloading station at which a gutter 47 is provided.
  • the mechanism 42 moves apart under the action of a pneumatic cylinder 46 , so that the aforementioned gutter can be engaged inside the skein.
  • the skeins are removed by an appropriate transverse translation device, which has been schematically shown in 5 in FIG. 1.
  • This device 5 ensures the arrangement of the skeins on a rack whose arrangement will be explained below.
  • the device 5 ensures the arrangement of the skeins on a rack 50 illustrated in FIG. 5 and 6. At this level, the hanks are ready to be introduced inside the dryer 6 of FIG. 7; in fact, each rack 50 is taken from a carriage 51 provided outside the enclosure of the dryer 6, to be engaged inside the latter and more precisely on an elevating member 52.
  • the racks 50 are provided with appropriate tracking codes, using for example suitable notches, so as to be recognized by suitable detectors placed laterally on the carriage 51 and in other parts of the drying enclosure, as will be explained in more detail in what follows.
  • the lifting member 52 is intended to bring each of the racks 50 to a level 53 where it is removed by appropriate means capable of ensuring its rectilinear advance.
  • the skeins 12 are subjected to jets of hot air, under conditions which will be specified below, in order to remove the liquid which they still contain after the pressing operation.
  • a suitable elevator arranged so as to distinguish each rack and thereby the type of hanks it supports; if the drying time provided for this type of skeins has not yet elapsed, the rack considered is loaded on another body elevator 54 in order to be brought to the level of an upper stage 55.
  • the latter is also provided with means suitable for ensuring the advance of the racks and hanks, so that the drying operation is continued at the level of said floor.
  • stage 55 the rack is taken up by the lifting member 52 to be brought to stage 53.
  • the detector placed at the end of the stage 53 signals the presence of a rack provided with hanks whose duration of passage in the dryer has already elapsed, it is expected that this rack is loaded on the lifting member 54 which l leads to the level of a lower floor 56 where the skeins undergo no particular treatment.
  • Adequate advance means ensure the transfer of the skeins from the lifting member 52 to the outside using the carriage 51.
  • the device 7 suitably arranged for this purpose, ensures the removal of said skeins for their transfer to the conveyor belt for evacuation 8 of fig. 1, these operations being carried out according to known type methods.
  • the air travels in a closed circuit, comprising a fan 58, a heating coil 59 (at which the air absorbs the heat which is given to it by steam or other hot fluid), a pipe 60 for the introduction of hot air, the drying enclosure proper and suction pipes 61.
  • a detector 62 for the air temperature At the level of at at least one of these pipes is fitted with a detector 62 for the air temperature, which emits a signal suitable for being used for regulating the heating of this air by the battery 59.
  • a relative humidity detector is also provided on at least one of the above-mentioned pipes, which, when it detects that the air has reached a predetermined humidity level, intervenes so that a register 64, normally open , closes at the same time as registers 65 and 66 open, normally closed, which has the effect of sucking outside air through a mouth 57 as a result of the action of the fan 58, and expel the air coming from the drying chamber through a hole 67 as a result of the suction operated by a fan 68.
  • provision may be made inside the chamber in which the air which comes from the outside mixes with that expelled from the inside of said enclosure, a heat exchanger 69 for the recovery of part of the calories that would otherwise be lost. It is understood that such an arrangement has significant advantages over known type arrangements in which the air is simply drawn outside, heated, then expelled outside after drying the skeins.
  • the dryer which has just been described comprises three stages, two of which, namely those referenced 53 and 55, are actually intended for the drying operation, while the third 56 has the sole role of bringing the skeins back to their starting point by cooling them, without subjecting them to another drying action; it goes without saying, however, that the dryer can include a variable number of stages, one of which (not necessarily the bottom one) is intended to perform the functions developed on stage 56 described above.
