Abstract

A knife comprises a substantially hollow handle, a short knife blade guided longitudinally movable in a knife blade guide track and at least one guided slider member coupled indirectly with the handle side of the longitudinally movable knife blade. The slider member is provided or associated with a longitudinal slot, in some cases penetrating the handle to reach the exterior, and an operating piece. An especially simple replacement of the knife blade is possible since the knife blade is insertable at least indirectly in the knife blade guide track through the longitudinal slot which is designed to meet its spatial requirements. There the knife blade is form-locked and releasably lockable on the slider member which is at least partially removable from the handle.

Description

The invention relates to a knife, as has become known according to the preamble of claim 1 by US-A 28 62 296.

In the known knife, the effort involved in replacing the knife blade designed as a trapezoidal blade is felt to be disadvantageous. To do this, the connecting screw, which holds the two longitudinal shells of the handle body together, must first be unscrewed. Only then can the knife part, which is coupled with that longitudinally movable slide part, be removed for replacing the knife blade.

The generic term "short knife blade" should be understood to mean a short trapezoidal blade, rectangular blade or hook blade - at least not a strip-like snap-off blade. A short knife blade is therefore used, which mainly consists of strip steel and is generally no longer used after becoming blunt, but is replaced by a new knife blade.

Proceeding from the knife according to US Pat. No. 2,862,296, the object of the invention is to design the known knife in such a way that a knife blade change can be carried out in a simple manner without manipulations which significantly delay the work step. This object has been achieved in accordance with the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

The knife according to the invention is characterized in that the slider part or a part thereof can be easily loosened and removed through the outwardly open slider longitudinal slot when the knife blade is retracted (here the knife blade is completely accommodated in the handle body), so that the knife blade is free. Now the blunt knife blade can be exchanged, which can be exchanged for a new knife blade after it has been removed through the slider longitudinal slot, which can also be inserted through the slider longitudinal slot into its mounting position and then or subsequently through the slide part or through a part the same is positively and releasably locked to the slide part. According to a first basic embodiment according to the invention, the longitudinal slot has a width corresponding to the knife blade and is arranged on a broad side of the handle body, the slide part, which is arrested as well as positively and releasably, forms a cover lying on the outer broad side of the blade. This cover can be easily loosened and, if it is hinged on one side, for example, can be pivoted out so that the blunt knife blade is exposed for replacement by a new one. The easily detachable locking of the slide cover can take place in various ways, preferably by snap locking means, which bring about a releasable locking of the cover on the actual inner slide part.

A second basic embodiment according to the invention consists essentially in the fact that the form-fitting, easily releasably locked slide part can be removed together with the knife blade together with the knife blade through a slot provided on a narrow side of the handle body and extending in the longitudinal direction of the handle body. A particularly preferred embodiment of this second basic embodiment according to the invention consists in the fact that the slide part with the knife blade can be pivoted out in the retracted rest position of the knife blade about a pivot pin extending transversely to the broad grip body surfaces.

  • Fig. 1 eine Ansicht der Breitseite eines Messers,
Further details, advantages and features essential to the invention result from additional subclaims and from the following description of preferred embodiments of the knife according to the invention with reference to the attached drawings. The individual shows:
  • 1 is a view of the broad side of a knife,
  • Fig. 2 is a plan view of the upper narrow side of the knife corresponding to the arrow indicated in Fig. 1 in Fig. 1, wherein the handle halves are partially cut away, so that an easily releasably locked and holding the knife blade slide cover part is visible while the Knife blade is in its forward cutting position,
  • Fig. 3 is based on the illustration of FIG. 2, but with the slider cover pivoted and
  • Fig. 4 is a partial representation of another knife embodiment, in which the two partially shown handle halves are folded apart from each other for better functional clarification.

10a (Fig. 4) dargestellt. In the drawings, a knife is shown overall with the reference number 10 (Fig. 1-3) or 10a (Fig. 4).

12a (Fig. 4) besteht. Each knife has a substantially hollow handle body 11 (Fig. 1-3) or 11 a (Fig. 4), which consists of two handle halves 12 (Fig. 1-3) or 12a (Fig. 4) .

According to FIGS. 1-3, a slide longitudinal slot 13 is provided on a broad side (i.e. on a handle shell longitudinal half 12) of the handle body 11, which slit passes through a handle shell longitudinal half 12 over its entire thickness. The width b of the slider longitudinal slot 13 is somewhat larger than the width of the knife blade 14 with cutting edge 15, which in the present case represents a trapezoidal blade. The lower half of the handle shell 12, which is otherwise not visible in FIG. 1, forms two knife blade guideways located at a parallel distance from one another 16, on which the knife blade 14 is not guided directly but in a longitudinally displaceable manner parallel to the handle body longitudinal axis x by means of an inner slide guide part 17.

14 in its cutting position, ie the inner slide part 17 is completely shifted forward to the cutting side labeled S, ei ne in the front view approximately V-shaped slide cover 18 abuts a correspondingly designed stop A of the slide longitudinal slot 13.

Hierbei befindet sich die Messer klinge 14 mit ihrer gesamten Klingenbreitseite 20 innerhalb des Schieber-Längsschlitzes 13.The longitudinal displacement of the inner slide part 17 with the slide cover 18 to the cutting side S takes place counter to the restoring force of a tension spring 19. As soon as the slide cover 18 forming a handle 34 is no longer pushed forward with the thumb, the tension spring 19 pulls the slide - Arrangement 17, 18 together with the knife blade 14 in a rest position (FIG. 3), according to which the knife blade 14 is completely accommodated in the handle body 11. Here, the knife blade 14 is located with its entire broad side 20 within the slider longitudinal slot 13.

The removal of the knife blade in its retracted rest position according to FIG. 3 takes place as follows:

First, the knife blade 14 is held releasably locked in its advanced cutting position between the inner slide part 17 and the slide cover 18, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The releasable locking takes place via snap locking means 21, which are shown in broken lines in FIG. 2.

After the tension spring 19 has taken effect, the knife blade 14 is located together with the inner slide part 17 and the slide cover 18 in the retracted rest position according to FIG. 3. Since the slide cover 18 is connected to a bracket part 23 via a film hinge 22 and this in turn on the inner part Slider part 17 is held, the slider cover 18 can be released in the pivoting direction u from the connection of the snap locking means 21, so that the knife blade 14 can be removed to the outside through the wide longitudinal slider slot 13 and exchanged for a new knife blade 14.

From Fig. 3 it can be seen, moreover, that the snap locking means 21 consist of undercut male-shaped locking or centering pins 24 of the inner slide part 17 and correspondingly undercut matrix-like locking holes 25 of the slide cover 18. As soon as a new knife blade 14 has been inserted, the slide cover is again moved into its latching position (comparable to FIGS. 1 and 2).

It remains to be mentioned that the articulation axis a of the film hinge 22 extends parallel to the transverse axis y of the handle body 11.

The slide parts 17, 18 - the latter with the bracket part 23 - suitably consist of a suitable plastic, that is, they form plastic injection molded parts. The two handle shell longitudinal halves 12 can optionally represent plastic injection molded parts or metal die cast parts.

In the illustration of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, the same reference numerals have been chosen, as far as possible, for analog components in accordance with FIGS. 1-3.

In contrast to the embodiment according to FIGS. 1-3, the embodiment according to FIG. 4 has a slide longitudinal slot 13a on the upper narrow side of the handle body 11a. 4, the knife blade 14 is in its operating position advanced toward the cutting side S. The slider arrangement 26, 27 is such that the knife blade 14 is pivoted outward in the retracted rest position of the slider 26 together with the latter by a pivot pin 27 projecting inwards from a grip shell longitudinal half 12 in accordance with the direction of rotation v out of the slider longitudinal slot 13a can, as indicated by dashed partial representation in Fig. 4. In the pivoted-out position (not shown), the knife blade 14 can be pulled off the side of the centering pin 28 and replaced by a new one.

Im einzelnen ist die Funktion des Ausführungsbeispiels gemäß Fig. 4 folgende:The function of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4 is as follows:

Das der Schneidseite S abgewandte Ende 30 des Langlochs 29 liegt bei der gezeigten Schneidstellung der Messerklinge 14 am Schwenkzapfen 27 an.The slide or the slide part 26 form an elongated hole 29 which extends in the longitudinal direction x of the handle body and in which the pivot pin 27 is received. The end 30 of the elongated hole 29 facing away from the cutting side S lies against the pivot pin 27 in the cutting position 14 of the knife blade shown.

The one handle shell longitudinal half 12a shown folded down forms a short guide groove 31 which extends in the longitudinal direction x of the handle body and which is open at its two ends in an offset arrangement to the pivot pin 27. In this guide groove 31, a slide-like, strip-like guide projection 33, which partially covers the rear end of the knife blade 14 at a distance, engages longitudinally and slidably. If the slide 26 with its slot 29 moves completely backwards from the cutting side S and the pivot pin 27 abuts the front end 32 of 29, the strip-shaped guide projection 33 is already outside the guide groove 31, so that the pivoting movement of the arrangement 26 , 14 in direction v for changing the knife blade 14 can be introduced unhindered.

The slide-side actuating handle 34 is connected to the inner slide part 17 via a connecting web 35. The entire slide is suitably made of plastic, so it forms a plastic injection molded part.
