Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a respiratory protection device with a signal processing unit for the transmission and display of measurement data in the field of view of the device wearer.
Such a device has become known from DE-OS 26 18 267.
These respiratory protection devices are not only used for the supply of breathing oxygen for pilots, but also, for example, in connection with the use of breathing apparatus for fire brigades, underground rescue teams or for maintenance and inspection work in an atmosphere enriched with pollutants.
In connection with a protective helmet, the known protective device carries a signal processing unit which is arranged in the forehead region of the helmet wearer and whose display field is outside of his field of vision. To transmit the displayed data and information, it is necessary to project the display field of the known signal processing unit into the field of view of the wearer by means of complex deflection optics.
The known arrangement requires a complicated and complex deflection optics for visualization of the displayed data, which must be shock-proof in the helmet of the mask wearer in order to ensure vibration and distortion-free transmission of the data into the field of view of the mask wearer. In addition, the field of view is significantly restricted by the imaging optics, with an optically specially designed subarea having to be provided in the viewing window of the mask, which is intended for deflecting the data intended for transmission, which are then superimposed on the usual observation of the surroundings by the viewing screen. This leads to disturbing interferences, especially with changing brightness differences. If there is no contrast, the information reflected is even invisible. The known display unit can therefore only be used with a special viewing window that is suitable and suitable for displaying the data.
The present invention is therefore based on the object of improving a respiratory protection device with a signal processing unit of the type mentioned in such a way that the display unit can be used universally and no optical elements restricting the field of vision are necessary. It should be able to be observed directly by the wearer.
The object is achieved in that the display unit is arranged laterally next to the nose area with its display field facing the device carrier.
With this arrangement of the display unit on an otherwise unused area of the field of view, the image of the surroundings remains unaffected by the narrowing or superimposition of reflected additional images. Even if the amount of data to be displayed is increased further, e.g. By recording the device's own physiological parameters, information about the breathing gas supply, ambient temperature or air humidity as well as pollutant concentrations in the atmosphere and corresponding warning signals, this does not restrict the field of vision. The amount of data can be output sequentially without impairing the recognizability of the objects to be observed or reducing the attention of the wearer.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the display field of the display unit can advantageously be covered by a magnifying lens. This also makes smaller display fields easily recognizable.
It can furthermore be expedient to provide the display unit with an optic which depicts the display field at infinity. This can be placed directly on the display unit in a simple manner and without complex deflection optics and enables the protective mask wearer to read the displayed data without fatigue even at short distances between his eye and the field of vision.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below and shown schematically with reference to the drawing.
