Abstract

Reusable cleansing cloths for cleaning surfaces and being adaptable into a holder, constituting a textile cloth, the cleansing side of which being provided with a thick layer of thread loops. The textile cloth (1) is made from crocheted chemical fibre thread and the cleansing layer consists of cotton thread (2) crocheted into the textile cloth, which cotton thread, thus, forms the thick layer of thread loops, whereby the layer is arranged in several parallel tracks (3, 4, 5) with the bare textile cloth therebetween. Hereby a more easily handled cloth is achieved, which glides easier across the surface to be cleaned.

Description

    Description
  • The present invention relates to a reusable cleansing cloth for cleaning surfaces, adapted to be attached to a holder, said cloth comprising a textile cloth made of chemical fibre thread and, on the cleansing side thereof, a thick layer of thread loops made of cotton.
  • EP-A-0 101 851 discloses a cleansing cloth of above mentioned type, which has a good ability of absorbing dirt and liquid and still is very durable. The object of the present invention is to improve such a cleansing cloths to render the cloth lighter weight making it easier to handle as it does not absorb more liquid than is necessary for the cleaning. Furthermore, the gliding ability over the surface to be cleaned is to be improved so that, when the cleansing cloth is used as a floor mop, the cleaning person easily can push the cleansing cloth across the floor. Furthermore, the manufacture is to be made simple bringing the costs of manufacture to a minimum. The purpose is, further, to avoid that the edges of the cloth must be hemmed, but that instead the cloth can be manufactured in webs which are cut into suitable lengths to a specific size for the purpose of use.
  • In order to achieve the above mentioned objects, the invention is now characterized in that the textile cloth is made from a crocheted chemical fibre thread and that the cleansing layer consists of cotton thread crocheted into the textile cloth, whereby the layer is arranged in several parallel tracks with the bare textile cloth therebetween.
  • One embodiment of the invention will be described below with reference to the attached drawing.
    • Fig. 1 shows hereby a plane view of the cleansing cloth according to the inventive idea and
    • Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section.
  • The cleansing cloth which, thus, is meant to be used several times with cleaning therebetween consists of a textile cloth 1 being crocheted from chemical fibre thread. This means that, when cutting, a hemming of the crocheted cloth is not necessary. Furthermore, a cloth of crocheted chemical fibre thread absorbs very little liquid. The cleansing layer, which thus, during the cleaning rests upon the surface to be cleaned, consists of cotton thread loops 2 crocheted into the textile cloth 1. As is shown in the drawings the cleansing layer consists of three tracks 3, 4 and 5 parallel to each other and between them the textile cloth is bare forming two channels 6 and 7. Hereby the gliding ability of the cloth against the surface when cleaning is improved and the handling of the cleansing cloth is substantially facilitated.
  • As an example of textile cloth the base is formed of textured polyester thread, 168/68 dtex and the cleansing layer consists of crocheted cotton Nm 24/2. The cleansing layer is in the form of open tricot (2-1/0-1) and the thread consumption is 19.5 m/meter product. The length of the loops 2 in the cleansing layer is about 1 cm.
  • Within the scope of the inventive idea the length of the loops can preferably be varied and the density of the loops in the cleansing layer. Furthermore, the amount of channels 6 and 7 can be varied as well as the width of the channels.

Claims (1)
