Abstract

The package consists of a web of paper and a plastic film which are both sealed together at the edge. The sealing consists of narrow, elongated sealing elements which have a limited length. The narrow elongated sealing elements can have various dimensions and be arranged in parallel or at angles relative to one another. Smaller sealing elements may be provided next to the narrow elongated sealing elements. Creasing of the plastic film is avoided and tightness increased by the spacings between the sealing elements, particularly in the case of articles with complex shapes being packaged.

Description

The invention relates to packaging, for example for surgical instruments, made of a plastic film web and a paper web, both of which are sealed to one another at the edge, which encloses a receiving space formed in the plastic film web, with a starting point for an opening process, in which the webs run along the edge are peelable from one another, the edge having at least one group of narrow, elongated sealing elements which are uniformly distributed.

When packaging surgical instruments, syringes, etc. It is important that the goods remain sterile in the packaging even after prolonged storage and that they are not contaminated by torn paper fibers even after opening. Such packaging, in particular for instruments for single use, is known from DE-OS 34 27 702.

There the goods are introduced into a preformed, deep-drawn depression of a plastic film, adapted to the goods, and sealed with a paper web. The sealing is done in such a way that the ʺpeelʺ ability is retained when opening and sufficient sealing against the ingress of germs, dirt and the like. Like. Is achieved. The narrow, elongated sealing elements bring about the mechanical cohesion of the paper web with the plastic film. After sealing, the packaged goods are subjected to the sterilization process, in which the germs are killed by appropriate gassing with a suitable gas. When the packaging is opened, the paper web and plastic film are peeled apart from each other, which is facilitated by the shape of the sealing elements. The pull-off direction usually corresponds to the main fiber direction of the paper.

In the case of larger goods to be packaged, the problem arises when preforming the depression that the flat surface of the plastic film is largely lost. This can lead to malfunctions when the packaging is sealed, be it that folds occur during the sealing process or that the sealing is not sufficiently tight against the ingress of germs.

Since the edge of the packaging should not be excessively large, there must be an absolute small width reliable sealing can be achieved, which must not be affected by tensions in the plastic film.

The seeds are arranged between two foils, the foils being made of paper-like material, for example. The two foils are connected to one another by a large number of small, elongated welding or pressure points, the welding or pressure points being short and having an elongated shape. With a device of this type, however, a special tightness of the connections between the two foils is not important, since the foils themselves must be permeable in order not to hinder the germination of the seeds.

The invention has set itself the task of e.g. to create for surgical instruments which, even with such depressions in the plastic film web, which lead to a deformation of the film web, enables an absolutely tight seal.

To achieve this object, the invention is based on the packaging of the type specified at the outset and proposes that the elongated sealing elements between the boundaries of the edge have interruptions such that the individual, elongated sealing elements end between the boundaries, but that the individual sealing elements also Connect a small distance to each other, the distance being significantly smaller than the length of the sealing elements.

The packaging according to the invention has the particular advantage that the art, which may be slightly warped by deep drawing can dodge in the interruptions between the individual longitudinal sealing elements and does not wrinkle. Tensions that occur in the film during sealing can even out. The individual sealing elements can be arranged directly in lines one behind the other. However, a slightly offset arrangement is also possible.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the elongate sealing elements are arranged parallel to one another. In this embodiment, a good seal is achieved by the elongate sealing elements and the opening process is particularly simple, since the package can be opened without jerking.

In another embodiment of the invention, the individual sealing elements are angled. The sealing elements themselves can be angled or they are arranged at an angle to one another. In this arrangement, the tightness is particularly high, especially when the sealing elements, as in the other embodiments, lie close together.

It is also advantageous if the elongate sealing elements have different lengths and / or widths. In particular, this embodiment enables the deep-drawn plastic film to yield well, so that the disadvantages of warping are avoided. The tightness is also excellent, especially when the individual sealing elements are very close together.

It has also proven to be advantageous if a second group of approximately punctiform sealing elements with Compared to the elongated sealing elements small dimensions is evenly distributed over the edge. A combination of these two different sealing elements provides a particularly high level of tightness. The elongated sealing elements can be relatively far apart since the tightness is ensured by the small sealing elements, which lie close together. Since this second group of sealing elements is small and punctiform, there is no danger that tensions will occur in the plastic film, even if the packaged goods have relatively complicated outlines.

  • Fig. 6 is an enlarged section through part of a package according to the invention.

The packaging consists essentially of the paper web 5 and the plastic film 6, both of which are sealed together at the edge 4. The inner boundary of the edge 4 is designated 15 and the outer boundary 14. The inner boundary 15 encloses the receiving space 13, which, as is known per se, is formed by a recess in the plastic film 6 and receives the goods 7.

The edge 4 of the packaging has the elongated sealing elements 1. The elongated sealing elements 1 have a limited length and are interrupted by the distances 2.

These punctiform sealing elements 3 are arranged between the elongate sealing elements 1 and increase the tightness of the packaging. In the case of more complicated shaped goods 7, the plastic film 6 tends to crease at the edge during the sealing process. Due to the distances 2 between the elongate sealing elements 1, the curvatures in the plastic film 6 are compensated for and the formation of folds at the edge 4 is avoided.

In such an arrangement, in which the sealing elements 1 lie close together, the elongate sealing elements alone achieve a satisfactory tightness of the packaging. Such an embodiment, as shown in Fig. 2, is particularly easy to manufacture.

Eine Erhöhung der Dichtheit der Verpackung wird durch die punktförmigen Siegelungselemente 3 erreicht.3, the elongated sealing elements 1 are also offset from one another and are at an angle to one another. The angle can be chosen arbitrarily. The punctiform sealing elements 3 increase the tightness of the packaging.

These angled sealing elements 8 are offset from one another and their sealing effect is supported by the punctiform sealing elements 3.

Eine Aufreißlasche 10 erleichtert den Öffnungsvorgang.5 shows an arrangement of elongate sealing elements of different lengths and widths. The larger elongated sealing elements 1 alternate with smaller sealing elements 9. A tear tab 10 facilitates the opening process.

Günstig ist es, wenn in der Draufsicht die Längsrichtung der Siegelungselemente 1 mit der Hauptlängsrichtung der Fasern 11 einen spitzen Winkel bildet.FIG. 6 shows a greatly enlarged and drawing-exaggerated section through part of a package with a paper web 5 and a plastic film 6. The course of the fibers 11 results from the production. Since the contact surface 12 of the sealing elements 1 on the individual fibers 11 is small compared to their length, there is no risk of pulling the fibers 11 out of the fiber structure in the paper web 5. It does not matter in which direction to the paper web with respect to its main fiber direction the pull tab 10 is located. It is advantageous if the longitudinal direction of the sealing elements 1 forms an acute angle with the main longitudinal direction of the fibers 11 in the plan view.
