Description

The invention relates to a device for the radial securing of a cartridge, which is inserted into the weapon barrel of an externally driven gun by an inevitably moved back and forth breech, which has at least one rotating barrel in a weapon barrel, with a pull-out claw on the breech which extends into an extraction groove of the cartridge case engages and prevents the cartridge from sliding off the breech head in a radial direction, with a stylus located radially opposite the pull-out claw to determine whether a cartridge has been inserted into the barrel, which stylus can be moved in the axial direction and is loaded by a spring which has the aim to hold the stylus in its foremost position and which, when the cartridge is present, can be moved through the cartridge case base, against the force of the spring, into its rearmost position.

In a known third-party gun of this type (see EP-A-0111240), a safety device is present which prevents the lock from being unlocked in the event of a delay in ignition. Because with guns of the type of a Gatling cannon, there is a risk that if the ignition is delayed, the cartridge will still be ignited after the unlocking of the breech, which is inevitably moved back and forth. Ignition of the cartridge after unlocking the breech is undesirable. This safety device has a stylus to determine whether a cartridge has been inserted or not. This known device speaks either to the gas pressure, or to the return of the Weapon, or on the advance of the weapon, or on a bulge of the cartridge case and causes a separation of a breech head from its breech carrier, the breech head remaining in its locked position if the cartridge does not ignite in time after being pierced. However, this known gun does not have a safety device which can prevent the cartridge from sliding radially from the breech when a cartridge is inserted through the breech into the weapon barrel.

It is common to provide a disc-shaped recess on the front side of the breech, into which the rear end of the cartridge protrudes when it is inserted into the weapon barrel, as a result of which the cartridge is secured against any lateral displacement. However, so that the cartridge can enter this disc-shaped recess on the front side of the closure, the pull-out claw must be swung out and then swiveled in so that it projects into the pull-out groove of the cartridge.

The object which is to be achieved with the present invention is to provide a radial securing of the cartridge when it is pushed into the weapon barrel through the breech, without the pull-out claw having to be designed to be pivotable, while, as far as possible, the Parts of the safety device are used for the ignition delay.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the stylus has an axially protruding locking cam, which rests laterally on the edge of the cartridge case base in order to secure the cartridge against sliding out laterally from the pull-out claw and in that a control cam is attached to the weapon housing is to push the stylus back when feeding the cartridge in front of the weapon breech.

In this rotor 11 six gun barrels 12 are fastened by means of bayonet locks, of which only one gun barrel 12 is visible in FIG. A closure 14 is assigned to each weapon barrel 12. Each closure 14 is slidably supported in the rotor 11 in longitudinal guides 28. These six closures 14 are shown in a view from the front in FIG. 1, cartridges 17 are supplied to the weapon 9 with the aid of an endless cup chain 15, which is wound around a star wheel 16. The cartridges 17 located in the individual cups 18 of the cup chain 15 are combed out of the cup chain 15 with the aid of a star wheel 19 and moved in front of the breech 14a of the weapon 9 until the cartridge axis coincides with the weapon barrel axis (FIG. 2). The bottom 20 of the cartridge 17 comes on End surface 21 of the closure 14 to lie. When the breech 14a (FIG. 1) moves to its foremost position, it pushes the cartridge 17 into the loading chamber or into the cartridge chamber 22 of the weapon barrel 12. This displacement of the breech 14 is brought about by the rotation of the rotor 11 in the direction of the arrow E. . As soon as the cartridge 17 has been fired, the empty sleeve 23 is pulled out of the cartridge chamber 22 of the weapon barrel 12 again by the breech 14 and ejected from the weapon 9 by a further star wheel 24 (FIG. 1), the further star wheel 24 in Direction of arrow F rotates. The structure of such a weapon 9 with several weapon tubes 12 and the mode of operation are assumed to be known and are only described here to the extent that they are necessary for the understanding of the present invention.

According to FIGS. 2 and 5, a pull-out claw 30 is present on the end face 21 of the closure 14, which protrudes into an pull-out groove 25 of the cartridge case 23. So that the cartridge 17 cannot fall out of the pull-out claw 30 when inserted into the weapon barrel, a locking cam 26 is attached diagonally to the pull-out claw 30 on a stylus 27. So that the cartridge 17 can be inserted into the pull-out claw 30, the stylus 27 with the safety cam 26 must be withdrawn, as will be described further below. According to Figure 5, the cartridge 17 is fed in the direction of arrow Z and the empty cartridge case 23 is moved away in the direction of arrow W and this is only possible if the stylus 27 has been retracted with the cam 26 so far that the sleeve bottom 20 on the End face 21 of the closure 14 can slide.

According to FIG. 2, the closure 14 is composed of a closure head 31, a closure head holder 32 and a closure carrier 33. The closure head 31 is screwed onto the locking head holder 32 via a steep thread 34 and the locking head holder 32 is coupled to the locking carrier 33 in a manner not shown via a lever 35. A roller 36, which is rotatably mounted on the breech block 33, projects into a control groove 37 of the weapon housing 10. When the rotor 11 rotates in the weapon housing 10, the breech 14 is retracted by the control groove 37 to such an extent that the empty cartridge case 23 can be ejected and a further cartridge 17 can be fed. The locking head 31 rotates on the locking head holder 32 and at the same time shifts from the position shown in FIG. 2 to the position shown in FIG. 3. The stylus 27 is slidably guided in the closure head holder 32 and loaded by a spring 38. This stylus 27 is held in its rearmost position by the cartridge 17 according to FIG. 2 and moves forward according to FIG. 3 when the locking head 31 is displaced, so that the locking cam 26 always has the same amount over the end face 21 of the locking mechanism 14 protrudes. An ignition pin 39 is slidably mounted in the closure carrier 33 and loaded by a spring 40.

According to FIGS. 6-10, a control rail 41 is provided in order to push the stylus 27 back so far that the safety cam 26 no longer protrudes over the end face 21, so that the empty cartridge case 23 can be ejected and the next cartridge 17 can be fed. This control rail 41 is fastened to the weapon housing 10, as can be seen from FIG. This control curve 41 has a steeper control surface 42 at one end and a flatter control surface 43 at its other end. A lever 44 abuts against the control surfaces 42 and 43 and is pivotably articulated on the stylus 27 (see FIGS. 2 and 3).

The operation of the described device is as follows:
1, in the case of a series fire, the rotor 11 rotates in the direction of the arrow E in the weapon housing 10, and the weapon tubes 12 and the breeches 14a-14f also rotate in the process. Since the closures 14a-14f are guided with their roller 36 in the control groove 37 according to FIG. 2, each closure 14 moves with one revolution of the rotor 11 from its foremost position to its rearmost position and back to its starting position. This displacement of the closures 14 is shown in Fig.11. With a full rotation of the rotor through 360 °, the closure is first at 0 ° in its rearmost position and remains in this rearmost position during rotation by 30 °. During the rotation through a further 120 °, the closure 14 moves forward and remains in its foremost position when the rotation through a further 60 °. When rotated through a further 120 °, the closure 14 moves back again and remains in its rearmost position when rotated through 60 °, ie from an angle of 330 ° to 30 °. As long as the closure 14 is in its rearmost position, the stylus 27 with the locking cam 26 should be pushed back so far that the empty cartridge case 23 can be ejected and the next cartridge 17 can be fed. According to FIGS. 1 and 11, the feeler pin 27, with its pivotable lever 44 (FIG. 2), pushes against the steeper control surface 42 of the control rail 41 and is pushed back against the force of the spring 38 until the closure 14 starts again towards the front move and the stylus 27 with its pivotable lever 44 on the flatter control surface 43 slides again from the control rail 41. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the stylus 27 is pushed back shortly before the empty cartridge sleeve 23 is ejected and released again shortly after the next cartridge 17 has been inserted in front of the closure 14.
