Description

The invention relates to a clamping device for self-locking tensioning and shortening of belts with a fixed and a free end of the belt and the like. With a holding part and a displaceably mounted clamping part, which causes the free end of the belt to jam under tensile stress.

Such clamping devices are known in different embodiments. They generally consist of at least two individual clamping parts which are connected as a unit by the belt wrap. The components provided as clamping parts build relatively high, so that, in particular in the case of clamped objects used in the stack, the actual clamping device projects excessively beyond the circumference of this stack and leads to damage to the adjacent stacked objects. On the other hand, the tensioning parts are also designed to be relatively large in the direction of the belt to be tensioned, so that damage must also be expected on the circumferential surface to be tensioned.

From US-A-3,277,543 a clamping device has become known which is formed from a holding part and a clamping part and has a crosspiece on which the free end of the belt can be folded down. A clamping in the sense of the present invention, however, does not take place with this crossbar and the associated web of the holding part. In the working position, i.e. the clamping position, there is a clear distance between the web and the holding part. The free, not enclosed by the belt end of the clamping part with the belt pulled through the opening rests on the surface of the belt end and is accordingly not movable downwards in this tensioning position, so that even with a further tensioning option, that is, a further tightening of the Belting, there is always a distance between the web and the holding part. The result is that the belt is held at all points of contact with the clamping part and the holding part and the overlying loop of the belt only under static friction, which can change into sliding friction relatively quickly depending on the design of such belts. In particular, the rough everyday operation when using such belts must be taken into account here, in which belt or belt surfaces frequently affected by lubricating greases and the like cannot be excluded. Belt surfaces of this type are particularly popular when moving and tensioning steel parts, which often have a corrosion protection film or surface residues caused by the production extremely short time also covered with a lubricating film, which accelerates the aforementioned sliding friction accordingly and makes such belts practically unusable.

The known clamping device also has an angled edge on the clamping part, which projects beyond the entire components of the clamping device in the closed position, that is to say has a metallic stop surface as an outer boundary, which is to be switched off according to the present invention. In addition, a disadvantage of the known clamping device can be seen in the acute-angled contact of both parts (holding part and clamping part) in the area of the fixed belt end. As soon as the clamping device is to be opened by pulling on the loop, the front end of the clamping part slides off the surface of the holding part and hits the inner jacket or the surface of the belt end unhindered. The supporting forces required for opening are shifted directly onto the surface of the belt end. This leads to corresponding damage to the belt in a relatively short time, so that it becomes unusable.

The invention has now set itself the task of forming a particularly flat-shaped clamping device, which preferably has the belt itself at least on the fixed clamping side and in a further region as an outer boundary and thus excludes a metallic damage surface.

To solve this problem, it is proposed in a clamping device of the type mentioned that the holding part and the clamping part are designed as loosely slidable frames with crossbars and the fixed belt end comprises both frames, the transverse web of the clamping part enclosed by the fixed belt end being wider than the crossbar of the holding part formed and this first transverse web of the clamping part is assigned a second transverse web as the actual clamping web, which is arranged at a distance from its end face to the transverse web of the holding part and this distance is designed to be less than the protrusion of the enclosed first transverse web remaining against the pulling direction.

It is also proposed that the holding part is equipped with a pulling device at its free end, which is not enclosed by the belt.

Further features of the invention emerge from the description and the remaining subclaims.

With the configuration proposed according to the invention, the problems described at the outset are eliminated and an extremely flat-shaped clamping device is created which, moreover, can be quickly and practically used as a reusable clamping device.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. In this drawing, the clamping device is shown in simplified form in a side view, from which the essential features emerge.

As can be seen from this view, the clamping device consists of a holding part 1 and a clamping part 2, which are designed as loosely displaceable frames with crossbars 3-7. On the left in the plane of the drawing, the fixed belt end 8 comprises both frames, so that it is available as a closed unit. As can be seen from the drawing, the enclosed first cross bar 5 of the clamping part 2 is wider than the cross bar 3 of the holding part 1. The first cross piece 5 is assigned a second cross piece 6 on the clamping part 2 as the actual clamping device or as the actual clamping piece, which is arranged with its end face 9 at a distance from the end face 10 of the cross piece 4. In the open state, this distance is less than the protrusion 12 remaining against the pulling direction 11 between the enclosed crosspiece 3 of the holding part 3 and the crosspiece 5 of the clamping part 2, likewise enclosed by the belt end 8.

As already stated, the transverse webs 3 and 5 are looped around by the belt ends 8 and 18 fastened to one another. The remaining free belt end 13 runs around the cross web 4 of the holding part 1 and then between the spacing surface of the crosspieces 4 and 6, in order to be finally led away below the crosspiece 6 as a free end outside the actual area of the clamping device as a pull end.

As soon as a tensile force is now exerted on this end, the clamping part 2 automatically moves in the direction of the arrow 14 and braces the end remaining between the end faces 9 and 10 of the transverse webs 4 and 6. As can be seen, the greater the tensile force acting on the respective ends of the belt, the greater the tension force. To quickly open the clamping device, a pulling device can be provided as a crosspiece 7 at the free end 15 of the holding part 1, which is equipped, for example, with a tab as a pulling strap, which, in the case of materials lying on top of one another, for example stacked, also provides protection with regard to the direct contact of the clamping part with the material to be stacked or material to be braced. In order to achieve the quickest possible opening by means of the pulling device, the enclosed cross bar 5 of the clamping part 2 has a bevel 16 on its end facing the holding part 1, which is used to unroll the corresponding cross bar 3 of the holding part 1 during the opening process. For better bracing, the mutually facing clamping surfaces 9 and 10 of the crossbars 4 and 6 are designed at an acute angle to the direction of tension 11 of the tension belt 13.
