Before the screwing in of the bolt, such nuts are held in the channel section by means of a helical spring on the top side of the nut. Installation of the nut in the channel section often requires two hands and when the channel section is used for ceiling attachment, danger to the worker may result if he has to stand on a ladder without being able to steady himself with one hand during the installation.

  • Fig. 5 a simplified embodiment of the gripping means 8 is shown, its U-shaped loop having straight legs without any indentations. This embodiment makes it simpler to twist the nut somewhat after its introduction into the channel section, which may be desirable if the bolt or the like to be fixed in the hole 7 cannot be introduced exactly at right angles into the channel section.
  • Fig. 5 also shows an advantageous embodiment of the main body 6 of the nut. Its top surface 15 is curved in order to approximately fit the internal shape of the channel section in order to form firm engagement even when the bolt position is somewhat askew. Furthermore, the top surface of the nut has a conical portion 16 continuing into the threaded hole 7 of the nut, which also contributes to ease the introduction of a somewhat canted bolt.
  • Fig. 6 an embodiment is shown where the main body of the nut has angled longitudinal edges 17 in order to provide a larger abutment surface with the inside of the channel section.
  • Fig. 7 shows an embodiment where the main body 6 of the nut is provided with three adjacent threaded holes 7. Such an embodiment is advantageous for applications where supporting brackets or the like, which are loaded in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the channel section, are to be attached to the channel section.

Abstract

Un écrou destiné à être logé dans un profilé en U ouvert (1) comporte un corps principal (6) pourvu d'un trou fileté (7) et un moyen de fixation (8) assemblés sur le corps principal (6). Le moyen de fixation (8) comprend un dispositif de serrage (9) qui coopère avec des rebords (3, 4) limitant une ouverture longitudinale (2) dans le profilé en U. Lors de l'insertion de l'écrou dans le profilé en U, le moyen de fixation est soumis à un couple autour de deux axes généralement orthogonaux, et lorsque l'insertion est achevée, l'écrou est maintenu en position correcte grâce à la coopération d'un blocage de forme et/ou de frottement entre les rebords (3, 4) limitant l'ouverture (2) et des endentements (12, 13) des branches d'une boucle (9) en forme de U constituant le dispositif de serrage.

Claims (6)

1. Dispositif comportant un profilé en U (1) et un écrou destiné à être placé dans le profilé en U (1) pour la fixation d'un boulon, un élément d'attache ou similaire fileté, le profilé en U comportant une ouverture longitudinale (2) ayant des bords (3, 4) de limitation, et où l'écrou (5) comprend un corps principal (6) sur lequel est ménagé un orifice taraudé (7) et des moyens de serrage (8) pour l'insertion manuelle de l'écrou dans le profilé en U (1) lesdits moyens de serrage (8) étant constitués par un fil métallique recourbé et comprenant un dispositif de blocage (9) prévu pour coopérer avec les bords de limitation (3, 4) de l'ouverture (2) du profilé en U, ledit dispositif de blocage (9) ayant une partie qui en position insérée de l'écrou, se prolonge partiellement à l'extérieur de l'ouverture (2) du profilé en U, caractérisé en ce que le dispositif de blocage (9) est constitué par une boucle généralement en forme de U, dont l'une des branches est connectée au corps principal (6) de l'écrou au moyen d'une partie (10) du fil métallique se prolongeant dans une direction généralement perpendiculaire à l'axe (11) de l'orifice taraudé (7) de l'écrou.
2. Dispositif selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que les branches de la boucle (9) comportent des dentelures (12, 13) qui s'ajustent généralement aux bords de limitation (3, 4) de l'ouverture (2) du profilé en U.
3. Dispositif selon la revendication 1 ou 2 caractérisé en ce que les moyens de serrage (8) sont constitués par du fil pour corde de piano soudé par points au corps principal (6) de l'écrou.
4. Un dispositif selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que le corps principal (6) de l'écrou a une surface supérieure (15) chanfreinée ou incurvée afin de s'ajuster approximativement à la forme intérieure du profilé en U (1).
5. Un dispositif selon la revendication 4 caractérisé en ce que ladite surface supérieure (15) comporte une partie conique (16) se prolongeant à l'intérieur dudit orifice taraudé (7).
6. Un dispositif selon la revendication 4 caractérisé en ce que le corps principal (6) de l'écrou comporte une pluralité d'orifices taraudés adjacents (7).
