Die Erfindung eignet sich vorteilhafterweise besonders für das Antreiben des Druckelementträgers 11 innerhalb eines Matrixzeilendruckers, der unterschiedliche Druckgeschwindigkeiten erfordert. Derartige Unterschiede in den Druckgeschwindigkeiten werden beim Ausdrucken von Texten oder beim Ausdrucken von Zeichnungen benötigt. Beim Text-Druckbetrieb liegt die Punktdichte erheblich höher als beim Grafikbetrieb. Während einerseits die Punktdichte also höher ist, ist andererseits die Druckelementträger-Bewegung langsamer, weil mehr Punkte während des Vor- und Rückpasses des Druckelementträgers gedruckt werden müssen. Claims (8)

  1. Printer, in particular matrix line printer, with a printing abutment (19), on which a recording support (21) rests, with a printing element support (11) able to move parallel to the printing abutment (19) in a guide, on which support at least one printing element row extending parallel to the printing abutment (19) is provided and which is provided with an oscillating drive for rectilinear, uniform movements (17), characterised in that the oscillating drive consists of an out-of-balance oscillation generator attached to the printing element support (11) and producing reciprocating movements in the directions of movement (17), which oscillation generator is able to move with the printing element support (11).
  2. Printer according to Claim 1, characterised in that the oscillation generator is formed from weights (51) of the same size, which are able to move in a rotary manner in opposite directions at the same rotary speed, symmetrically with respect to the directions of movement (17).
  3. Printer according to Claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the oscillation generator is disposed at one end of the printing element support (11).
  4. Printer according to Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that attached to the end of the printing element support (11) is a bracket (31), to which a retaining clip (40) for electric motors (49) attached to the retaining clip (40) symmetrically with respect to the directions of movement (17) is connected by way of parallel connecting rods (37), on the output shafts of which electric motors the weights (51) of identical size and shape are disposed in a nonrotary manner.
  5. Printer according to Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the mass and the shape of the weights (51) is chosen so that corresponding to the latter is a value which can be predetermined, for the path of movement of the printing element support (11).
  6. Printer according to Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the weights (51) are asymmetrical in their basic shape.
  7. Printer according to Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that a Lemniscate/Bernully curve (Figure 5) is chosen as the displacement/force curve.
  8. Printer according to Claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the printing element support (11) is supported at the ends on parallel leaf springs (15) and the leaf springs (15) are clamped on the frame (16).
