Description

The present invention relates to a method for producing a cutting and scoring tool from a steel blade, a chamfer being formed on a longitudinal side of the blade by scraping.

Such cutting and scoring tools are used in the paper processing and cardboard industry.

Cutting and scoring tools are known which have either a ground bevel or a scraped bevel. The ground bevel has minimal hollow grinding, which results in excellent sharpness, so that a low punching pressure is required. However, the dimensional accuracy of such a chamfer is not satisfactory for all purposes. Due to their production in the drawing process, scraped bevels have very good dimensional stability, so that they can be used with high demands on dimensional accuracy. However, since the chamfer is slightly convex, the sharpness of this chamfer is low and it does not have a cutting, but rather a pressing effect on the material, so that higher punching pressures are required.

A 1 483 301 describes a punch knife whose cutting edge is formed solely by grinding.

A 2 304 237 deals with a cutting knife which also has ground cutting edges.

Finally, DE-A 3 101 988 also relates to a knife, the blade of which is provided with a ground cutting edge.

The present invention is based on the object, starting from the prior art described at the outset, of specifying a method for producing a cutting and scoring tool with which the advantages of the scraped and ground bevel can be connected to one another.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the blade is hardened in one area of the chamfer and in that a fine grinding is carried out in the same area starting from the chamfer tip. The invention is based on the knowledge that the fine grinding not only improves the function of the cutting tool due to the change in shape associated with it, but that the precision grinding does not impair the dimensional accuracy of the scraped chamfer on the one hand and the top layer of the chamfer on the other a thickness is removed which corresponds to the thickness of the soft outer skin, in which the desired hardness is not present.

Accordingly, an additional effect is achieved according to the invention, because the fine grinding according to the invention not only maintains the dimensional accuracy of the scraped chamfer, but also realizes the cutting effect of a ground tool, although there is also an increased service life.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the exemplary embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing.

The single figure shows a cross section through a cutting and scoring tool produced by the method according to the invention, which consists of a blade 1 and has a chamfer 2 on a longitudinal edge, a double-sided chamfer 2 being present in the example shown. The chamfer 2 is produced by pulling a flat material made of spring steel with a thickness of 0.4 to 2 mm in a hard metal drawing die, so that the one or two-sided chamfer 2 is produced as a result. This is called a so-called scraped bevel.

This chamfer 2 is now produced with a certain oversize, namely with an oversize of 2/100 to 4/100 mm. This oversized, scraped chamfer 2 is then hardened according to the invention in a region 4, preferably induction hardened, with a penetration depth of 3/10 to 5/10 mm measured from the tip 3 of the chamfer 2. The hardening takes place to a hardness of 66 HRc. After hardening, tempering takes place in the same area 4, to a final tempering hardness of 57 to 59 HRc. It is also provided that the bevel 2 is given a finishing touch 5. This fine sanding 5 is carried out at a bevel angle a of approximately 45 ° -60 ° in such a way that the excess existing after scraping is removed. As a result, the softer outer skin of the hardened and tempered chamfer 2 is removed at the same time. This fine sanding, which is advantageously carried out with an added grinding wheel, does not impair the dimensional accuracy of the scraped bevel, and the fine sanding also prevents scoring in the bevel surface.

The cutting and scoring tool produced by the method according to the invention can be designed with a one-sided chamfer, with a double-sided chamfer as shown, with one-sided double grinding or with four-grinding.

It is characterized by an increased service life compared to the known cutting and scoring tools and by the fact that the lint effect occurring in the known tools is avoided. In addition, the tool according to the invention has excellent dimensional stability, which results in very short dressing times in the tool.
