Description

FR-A 2 558 209).The invention relates to a two-component discharge device, comprising a discharge cartridge with two discharge channels, each leading from a storage space into a common mouth part, separated by a wall, and an interchangeable flow mixer connected to the mouth with alternating right and left in a mixer tube counter-clockwise coiled mixing blades which are held in a staggered position (see e.g. FR-A 2 558 209).

Discharge devices of this type are used in a known manner for processing various pasty or viscous masses, such as adhesives, joint sealants, lacquers, etc., which are stored separately in two components, but must be mixed for use, so that they react with one another to form a chemical reaction - usually one Solidification or curing - brought. When using the discharge device, the cartridge content is pressed out of each storage space by actuating a delivery piston through the cartridge mouth, whereupon it flows through the mixer connected to it, where the two components are intimately mixed. The contents of the cartridge are usually discharged in several portions with waiting times in between, during which, however, the components brought together in the mixer start to react. With longer waiting times, the mixer becomes unusable and must be replaced. The difficulty arises here that the components often harden at the transition between the cartridge and mixer and as a result of diffusion into the cartridge mouth. This can make it difficult to separate the mixer, which is usually left on the cartridge, but above all it prevents the hardening or "tubing" that occurs in the mass from further discharging the contents of the cartridge, or there are defects in the application, such as surface defects in the paintwork, poor bonding, etc .

The object of the invention is to eliminate this difficulty and to ensure the trouble-free further discharge of the cartridge content and its flawless application even after repeated replacement of the mixer and after longer waiting times.

The two-component discharge device according to the invention, with which this is achieved, is characterized in that the first wing of the mixer tightly connects with its leading edge to the partition of the cartridge mouth and continues the two above-mentioned channels separately beyond the connection point of the mixer.

The invention also relates to a flow mixer of the type mentioned above, which is intended for connection to the two-component discharge cartridge mentioned. According to the invention, this mixer is characterized in that the first wing is fixed in the mixer tube and the mixer for connection to the cartridge is designed in a certain rotational position in such a way that the said wing comes into tight contact with the duct partition and extends beyond the connection point continues.

The task is solved in an astonishingly simple manner in that the production of neither the cartridge nor the flow mixer requires additional effort compared to known designs. Such a would be highly undesirable, especially for the mixer, because for the reasons described above, several pieces are required for each cartridge and the mixers must therefore be considered as disposable items as cheap as possible in this application.

  • Fig. 2 ist eine Ansicht der Kartusche nach Fig. I von der Mündungsseite her gesehen, und
  • Fig. 3 zeigt den Mischer nach Fig. I von der an die Kartusche anzuschliessenden Eintrittseite her.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the drawing.
  • I shows a discharge device, consisting of two-component cartridge and flow mixer, in a partially sectioned side view,
  • Fig. 2 is a view of the cartridge of FIG. I seen from the mouth side, and
  • Fig. 3 shows the mixer of Fig. I from the inlet side to be connected to the cartridge.

The two-component or double cartridge I of the discharge device shown in FIG. I has two cylindrical storage containers 2 lying next to one another, each of which is provided with a delivery piston 3 for the discharge of the cartridge contents. A discharge channel 5 leads from the storage space in each cylinder 2 into a common mouth part 6 of the cartridge, the channels 5 being separated by a wall 4 up to the mouth. For the detachable attachment of a flow mixer 10 adjoining the cartridge mouth, the cartridge I has a base plate 7 which surrounds the mouth part 6 and which has two opposing holding claws 8 for holding the mixer in the manner of a bayonet lock.

The flow mixer 10 (also called “static mixer”) has a mixer tube II, which on the inlet side is of a conical design and is provided with a flange 12. When the mixer is connected to the cartridge, the flange 12 is placed on the base plate 7 between the claws 8 in a rotational position offset by 90 degrees compared to FIG. 3 and then rotated by a quarter turn, the flange engaging under the claws 8. The rotational position of the connected mixer 10 relative to the cartridge is determined by two stops 13 provided on the flange 12, which come to rest on the claws 8.

In the tube II of the flow mixer, in a manner known per se, there are a number of mixing blades 14, 16 which are wound alternately clockwise and counterclockwise and are each offset in the rotational position by 90 degrees. In the present mixer design, the entirety of the mixing blades 14, 16 is preferably made in one piece as a plastic injection-molded part and is held as a mixing element in the mixer tube 11, but it is also possible to group the blades into two or more partial elements.

It is essential in the present invention that the first wing 14 of the mixer is held in the mixer tube II in such a way that its leading edge 15, when the mixer 10 is connected to the double cartridge I, is parallel to the partition 4 of the cartridge mouth and connects tightly to it. As a result, the first wing 14 forms a continuation of the partition 4 into the mixer pipe II, albeit a winding one, i.e. The discharge channels 5 in the mouth part 6 of the cartridge are continued separately beyond the connection point 20 of the mixer. The component streams emerging through the two channels 5 when the discharge device is actuated thus do not already meet when leaving the cartridge mouth, but for the first time at the transition from the first wing 14 to the subsequent wing 16. This ensures that even when the discharge device is left for a longer period after the discharge has started, Connection area of the mixer (position 20) and especially in the cartridge mouth there is no reaction or hardening of the cartridge content, ie curing or "bulb formation" takes place only further forward (in the direction of flow) in the mixer, which is in any case no longer usable.

The required relative position of the first wing 14 in the mixer tube II (and thus of course the subsequent wing 16) can only be achieved by an adhesive fit, i.e. Coordination of the diameter of the wing and the tube bore can be ensured. In the illustrated embodiment, on the other hand, the wing 14 is somewhat extended in the area of the leading edge 15 in the direction of the tube diameter and is held in corresponding small recesses 17 in the tube wall (FIG. 3). In this way, an axial pressing of the edge 15 on the end face of the partition 4, which is recommended for the tight connection, can easily be achieved. The leading edge 15 can also advantageously be designed like a knife. If, as usual, all of the wings 14, 16 form a one-piece mixing element (e.g. a plastic injection-molded part), there is the further possibility of positioning the mixing element axially and in the rotational position at the outlet end 18 relative to the pipe 11, e.g. by means of cam-like guides on the inner wall of the tube II (not shown) to ensure the correct connection of the leading edge 15; By suitably dimensioning the length of the mixing element and tube, a resilient tight fit of the leading edge 15 can then be achieved by slightly axially compressing the mixing element when the mixer 10 is placed on the cartridge I.
