Description

The invention relates to a centrifugal machine for mechanical processing, e.g. Grinding, polishing, cleaning and deburring of workpieces with a workpiece receptacle, which has a substantially cylindrical casing and a rotating bottom coaxially mounted thereto in the form of a plate or the like, which with its peripheral edge to the lower edge of the casing to form a Narrow gap protrudes, and with a liquid container arranged below the workpiece holder for receiving the liquid flowing through the gap from the workpiece holder.

Such a centrifugal machine is already known (JP-A 58 059 762 and Patent Abstracts of Japan, Vol. 7, No. 148 (M-225)). In this known machine, the liquid necessary for processing the workpieces in the workpiece receiving container and flowing out of this container through the gap into the liquid container is drawn in by a pump via a suction line from the liquid container and back in at a point above the gap and through the gap pumped back the workpiece holder.

As a function of the amount of liquid passing through the gap, the pumping power and the supply of new liquid, e.g. In the form of a water-compound mixture for processing purposes in the workpiece holder, the liquid level in the workpiece holder and / or in the liquid container underneath fluctuates and can also fall below the mouth of the suction line for the liquid, the invention is based on the object a simple measure to keep the liquid level in the liquid container and possibly in the workpiece holder above it at a desired height.

This is achieved according to the invention in that a drain line connected to or near the bottom of the liquid container is connected to a pipeline which projects upwards to the side of the liquid container and, if appropriate, the workpiece holding container and which has an overflow which is adjustable in height for setting the liquid level in the liquid container and optionally in the workpiece holder located above.

With this height-adjustable overflow, the height of the liquid level can be maintained, regardless of whether and in what amount new liquid is added to the workpiece holder for processing purposes. Because the overflow overflows the same amount of liquid from the lower liquid container, which is entered into the workpiece holder.

Particularly expedient embodiments of this overflow are specified in claims 2 to 5.

In the machine according to the invention, a device for targeted flushing of liquid in the form of pressure jets through the gap into the workpiece holding container can be expediently arranged on the outside of the gap, which device is connected via a liquid pump to a suction line which is connected to the bottom of the Workpiece receiving container arranged liquid container opens. The rinsing liquid is therefore not taken directly from the public water supply, but from the liquid container located below the workpiece holder, which collects the liquid flowing through the gap. With this structurally simple measure, a reliable and complete cleaning of the gap can be guaranteed, in which contaminants such as abrasion particles, particles of grinding wheels and thin workpieces to be treated in the machine, which have penetrated into the gap and are clamped there, penetrate all or part of the gap can be transported from the gap back into the interior of the container.

The rinsing device can consist of a spray line wholly or partially surrounding the workpiece holding container with one or more outlet openings directed against the gap, which spray line is connected to the liquid pump via a feed line. Depending on the circumstances, it may be expedient or possible for the spray line to have a spray slot which extends over the entire length of the gap or a large part of this length. But it is also possible that the outlet openings of the spray line are formed by a number of spaced round or slot-shaped holes.

The gap rinsing can also be used to cool the gap and the regions of the container shell and container base located on both sides thereof, when cooled liquid is sprayed through the gap. For this purpose, the supply line can be routed through a cooling device. The cooling of the rinsing liquid which results from this can be expedient in particular because, when the machine is in operation, heat is generated as a result of friction between the grinding bodies and the like among one another and on the walls of the workpiece holding container, by means of which the jacket and the bottom of the container are heated. Due to the expansion of these two parts of the container, a narrowing of the gap width occurs, which leads to increased friction between the jacket and the bottom and thus to a risk of damage to these two parts of the workpiece holder, even if the gap of Impurities or foreign bodies are washed away.

The drawings show particularly advantageous exemplary embodiments of the machine according to the invention, which are described in more detail below:
  • Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment of the machine according to the invention in a section through the axis of the workpiece receiving container and liquid container.
  • FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of this machine in the same representation as FIG. 1.
  • 3 shows a detail of FIG. 2.
  • FIG. 4 shows a detail of another axial section through the device according to FIG. 2.
  • 5 is a section through the workpiece holding container of the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 2 to 4 along line VV in FIG. 2, with the other parts of the machine being omitted.

Polyurethan. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the centrifugal processing machine has a workpiece holder which has a cylindrical casing 1 with an inner lining made of plastic, e.g. Polyurethane 2 and a rotating bottom 3 coaxially mounted to this in the form of a plate, which extends with its peripheral edge to the lower edge of the casing lining 2 to form a narrow gap 4. The floor is also made of plastic, e.g. Polyurethane.

The container jacket 1 forms the upper part of the side wall 5 of a liquid container 6 located under the container bottom 3, which or the like via a bearing 7 on a carrier 8. Base is firmly stored.

In contrast to the liquid container 6 and the jacket 1 of the workpiece holder, the bottom 3 of the workpiece holder is rotatable about the container axis X. For this purpose, the bottom 3 sits on a vertical shaft 9, which is rotatably mounted in the storage 7 of the liquid container. The base 3 is set in rotation by a drive wheel 10 via this rotary shaft 9.

At a point on the circumference of the gap 4 sloping downward in the depth of the container, a supply line 11 for rinsing liquid protrudes, which at its front end protruding into the liquid container 6 is equipped with one or more outlet nozzles which lie opposite the outside of the gap 4. This feed line 11 starts from the pressure side of a liquid pump 12, the suction side of which is connected to a suction line 13 which opens into the liquid container 6. A filter 14 for the separation of impurities from the sucked-in liquid is inserted into this suction line.

At the upper edge of the jacket 1 of the workpiece holder, a feed line 15 is also provided for liquid to be entered into the container, which is injected into the container through a spray nozzle 16 provided at the end of the line. This liquid can consist of a water-compound mixture, which is usually used in centrifugal processing machines when wet or underwater processing of the workpieces is desired.

At the bottom of the liquid container 6, a drain line 17 is connected, which can be closed with a shut-off valve 18. From this line, a pipeline 19 branches off in front of the shut-off valve 18, which is guided vertically upwards to the side of the liquid container 6 and the workpiece receiving container located above it. This line 19 forms an overflow which is formed by a hairpin-shaped bend 20 of the pipeline. The height of this bend 20 can be changed. In Fig. 1, the bend shown in solid lines is shown in its highest position, which is held in its height by a support rod 21 which engages under the pipe bend 20. This support rod can be found on the outside of the side wall 5 at different heights. In Fig. 1, the tube bend 20 is shown in dash-dotted lines in its lowest position in this embodiment.

At the apex of the bend 20, a vent opening is provided in the form of a pipe socket 22 attached to the pipe bend 20.

The height shifting of the pipe bend 20 can be made possible by forming the pipe 19 from a flexible hose to which the vent connection 22 is connected. If the tube 19 is rigid, the height shift can be ensured by telescopic tube formation.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the jacket 1 of the workpiece receiving container is an independent machine part which is seated on the side wall 5 of the liquid container 6 and is adjustable in height. For this purpose, the jacket 1 is provided on its lower edge with a protruding flange 23 which rests on a counter flange 25 protruding from the upper edge of the side wall 5 of the liquid container 6 by means of fine adjustment screws 24 which can be screwed into this flange. By screwing the fine adjustment screws 24 in the flange 23, the distance of this flange from the counter flange 25 and thus the height of the jacket 1 can be changed and adjusted, whereby the width of the gap 4 can also be changed and adjusted accordingly. After this setting, the jacket 1 can be fastened by fastening screws 35, which pass through the flange 23 in addition to the fine adjustment screws and can be screwed into threaded holes in the counter flange 25.

In order to ensure a liquid-tight seal between the flanges 23 and 25, which is tight even with a change in the height of the container casing 1 and can adapt to such a change in height, a circumferential strip 26 is provided on the flange 23, which in one with a permanently elastic Sealing compound 27 filled annular groove in the flange 25 engages sealingly.

In this embodiment too, a feed line 28 is provided, which leads from a liquid pump 29 located outside the liquid container 6 through the side wall 5 of the liquid container to the outside of the gap 4 and is connected to an annular spray line 30 surrounding the gap 4. This annular spray line has a number of outlet openings 31 in the form of spray nozzles which are distributed uniformly over the circumference of the gap 4 and are directed against the gap 4.

As in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, an intake line 32 opening into the liquid container 6 with a filter 33 inserted into it is connected to the intake side of the liquid pump. 1, a drain line 17 with a shut-off valve 18 is connected to the bottom of the liquid container, from which a pipe 19 leading upwards branches off with a pipe bend 20 forming an overflow, at the apex of which a vent connection 22 is connected. In this exemplary embodiment, this pipeline 19 consists of a flexible hose, which forms a downwardly projecting loop 34 in the lowest height position of the hose bend 20 shown in dash-dotted lines and can be fixed with its bend 20 in a manner similar to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1.

By adjusting the height of the pipe bend forming a liquid overflow, the liquid level in the liquid container 6 and, if necessary, also in the workpiece holding container can be set in both exemplary embodiments. In the lower height setting of the pipe bend 20 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the liquid level is located relatively far below the gap 4, but above the opening of the suction line 13 or 32, so that suction of the flushing liquid is ensured. At this liquid level, the workpieces and processing bodies located in the workpiece holding container are moistened with liquid (water-compound mixture) introduced from above through line 15 with spray nozzle 16. In the upper height position of the tube bend 20 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the liquid level is relatively far above the gap 4, so that the lower region of the workpiece holder is filled with liquid, and the workpieces are processed practically "under water". In this case too, however, the gap 4 can be adequately flushed due to the force of the pump 12 or 29, specifically because of the powerful spray jets generated by the pump at the outlet openings of the flushing device.
