Der oberhalb der Glühlampe angeordnete Schenkel weist an seinem freien Endbereich einen weiteren Abdeckschirm auf, der sowohl die der Scheitelöffnung benachbarten Reflektorbereiche gegenüber dem in Fuß des Glaskolbens entstehenden Streulicht als auch den oberen Randbereich des Lampensockels gegenüber den direkt aus dem Glühfaden der Glühlampe austretenden Lichtstrahlen abschirmt. Damit der oberhalb der Glühlampe angeordnete Schnekel auch als Tragarm der Abdeckvorrichtung vorwendbar ist, weist der Schenkel an seinem freien Ende außer dem Abdeckschirm zwei freigeschnittene Zungen auf, die in schlitzartigen Öffnungen der Lampenfassung festsetzbar sind. Durch die Wärmeleitung des als Tragarm dienenden Schenkels können sich sowohl die Lampenfassung als auch der Lampensockel, besonders wenn sie aus einem Werkstoff mit geringer Warmfestigkeit hergestellt sind, bis zu einem kritischen Temperaturbereich oder sogar über diesen hinaus aufheizen. Die durch den Freischnitt und das Herausbiegen der den Tragarm bildenden Zunge 21 erzeugte Öffnung 2 ist bis so nahe an die Seitenkanten der U-Form verbreitert, daß zwei schmale, die Öffnung seitlich begrenzende Streifen des Stegs 1 verbleiben. Die schmalen Streifen des Stegs verlaufen im Querschnitt bogenförmig. Angrenzend an die Öffnung 2 weist der oberhalb und unterhalb der Glühlampe 13 angeordnete Schenkel 3 u. 4 einen Abdeckschirm 5 auf, der die direkt aus dem Glühfaden 19 der Glühlampe austretenden Lichtstrahlen gegenüber den Streulicht erzeugenden Abflachungen 24 des eine rechteckige Lichtaustrittsfläche aufweisenden Reflektors 9 abschirmt. An dem freien Endbereich weist der oberhalb des Glaskolbens 17 angeordnete Schenkel 3 einen dritten, zur optischen Achse hin abgebogenen Abdeckschirm 8 auf, der die direkt aus dem Glühfaden 19 die Glühlampe austretenden Lichstrahlen gegenüber dem oberen Randbereich des aus Kunststoff hergestellten Lampensockels 14 und die der Scheitelöffnung 11 benachbarten Reflektorbereiche gegenüber den im Fuß des Glaskolbens 17 erzeugten Streustrahlen abschirmt.The support arms 3 u arranged above and below the glass bulb of the incandescent lamp. 4 of the cover device have at their free end portions a cut-out tongue 6 u. 7, which are pushed into slot-like openings of the reflector 9 up to the contact surface 22 of the support arms formed by shoulders. Claims (9)

  1. Headlight for motor vehicles having a light pane (10) covering the reflector, having an incandescent lamp (13) placed in the vertex opening of the reflector (9), and having an essentially U-shaped masking device which is produced from sheet metal and is arranged in the vicinity of the incandescent lamp, and whose web (1) connecting the limbs is arranged between the incandescent lamp and the light pane and whose limbs (3,4), which extend in the headlight's installed position at a distance above and below the incandescent lamp, are constructed at least partially as a screen which masks reflector sections generating scattered light, the limb (4) arranged under the incandescent lamp serving essentially as a support arm of the masking device and the limb (3) arranged above the incandescent lamp screening, by means of its free end section, the lamp cap and/or the lamp holder and/or the reflector regions adjacent to the vertex opening against the light emerging from the incandescent lamp, characterised in that a tongue (21) that is cut free from the region of the U-shaped masking device extending between the incandescent lamp (13) and the light pane (10) is bent outwards and forms the upper support arm, which can be fixed to the reflector (9).

  6. Headlight according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the masking device is produced by bending from a plane metal sheet cut to size.

Headlight according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at their free ends the support arms have tongues (6 and 7) cut free, which are pushed into slot-like openings of the reflector (9) as far as the bearing surfaces formed by shoulders (22) of the support arms, and whose free end section is bent back onto the rear of the reflector.
  9. Headlight according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the support arm (4) arranged below the incandescent lamp is bent with its free end section (20) towards the lower reflector part.
