Description

The invention relates to a contact arrangement with a plurality of contact levers which are pivotally mounted in a holder relative to one another, the holder in turn being movable about a stationary bearing for switching on and off.

A contact arrangement of this type is known, for example, from US-A-3 402 274. For the behavior of such a contact arrangement when switching with a high current, as can occur in the operation of low-voltage power switches, not only the contacting properties of the contacting pieces that come into contact with one another, but also mechanical properties of the contact arrangement are of considerable importance. For example, attractive forces act between adjacent contact levers and therefore current flows through them in the same direction, while the entire movable part of the contact arrangement can be exposed to lateral magnetic forces. In combination with an unavoidable bearing play, these influences lead to a relative displacement of the contact piece supports, which not only causes wear due to friction of the contact surfaces relative to one another, but also leads to scratches and erosion.

The invention has for its object to increase the performance of multi-unit contact arrangement in that, despite the series production of such contact arrangements, the bearing tolerance of the movable part of the contact arrangement is reduced as much as possible.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the bearing is designed as a bearing bracket encompassing the holder, which is composed of parts connected to one another in an adapted and unchangeable distance to the holder. The bearing bracket receives its final dimensions only when it is assembled with the holder of the contact lever. Regardless of the width of the holder, which can fluctuate due to the tolerance of the semi-finished products used and the tolerance of surface layers as well as of insert parts and similar influences, the same bearing tolerance is always achieved within the bracket.

Advantageously, such a bearing bracket can have two mirror-inverted angles, one leg of which is arranged parallel to the side walls of the holder and the other legs of which are arranged one above the other, the further legs being connected at the correct distance by overlying connecting straps. This makes it possible to assemble the bearing bracket from different materials in order to achieve desirable properties, particularly from a magnetic point of view. If, for example, connecting lugs made of a non-magnetic steel or another non-magnetic material are selected, the formation of a magnetic enclosure of the contact levers is avoided.

The connection of the parts of the bearing bracket at an unchangeable distance can be brought about in that the connecting straps are provided with openings for use as a die, into which material from the further legs of the angle can be pressed by a plastic deformation. In this way, a connection of the parts of the bearing bracket is achieved, which can absorb considerable shear forces and which also ensures the cohesion of the parts of the bearing bracket within the scope of a normal, workshop-like handling, until other connecting means are attached in addition to the matrix connection, e.g. B. rivets, screws or a connection method, such as. B. spot welding has been applied.

It is expedient to dimension the openings for a material cross section sufficient for the complete transmission of stresses caused by current forces. The additional connecting means then only need to transmit normal forces.

  • a) die Winkel werden beidseitig des mit Kontakthebeln versehenen Halters maßgerecht positioniert;
  • b) die Verbindungslaschen werden auf die weiteren Schenkel der Winkel aufgelegt;
  • c) durch Druckanwendung mittels eines Werkzeuges werden die weiteren Schenkel örtlich plastisch soweit verformt, daß Material in die Öffnungen der Verbindunglaschen eintritt und hierdurch die Winkel in einem an den Halter angepaßten Abstand miteinander verbunden werden;
In the context of the invention, a contact arrangement of the type described can be produced by a method with the following steps:
  • a) the angles are positioned on both sides of the holder provided with contact levers;
  • b) the connecting straps are placed on the other legs of the angle;
  • c) by applying pressure using a tool, the other legs are locally plastically deformed to such an extent that material enters the openings of the connecting straps and the angles are thereby connected to one another at a distance adapted to the holder;
  • d) the angles and the connecting straps are permanently connected by additional fastening elements.

The additional fastening means only have to absorb forces which act in the direction of lifting the parts apart, since the shear forces acting perpendicularly to them are absorbed by the die connection.

The invention is explained below with reference to the embodiment shown in the figures.
  • FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show an angle as part of a bearing bracket in three partially sectioned views which are each at right angles to one another.
  • Figures 4 and 5 also show in two mutually perpendicular partially sectioned views a bearing bracket composed of two mirror-image angles and connecting straps with parts of a holder for several contact levers.
  • FIG. 6 shows a complete contact arrangement of a low-voltage circuit breaker in a side view.
  • FIG. 7 shows the contact arrangement according to FIG. 7 in a front view.

The angle 1 shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 is used to produce a bearing bracket as shown in FIG 4 and 5 is shown. The angle 1 has a leg 2 which is provided with a through opening 3 for a bearing pin. Another leg 4 standing at right angles to leg 2 likewise contains a through opening 5 which is provided for receiving a screw to be used in the course of the manufacture of the bearing bracket. An extension 6, which also has a through opening 7, is bent out of the plane of the leg 4. The part of the leg 4 located below the extension 6 has a laterally open recess 10 which is used for fastening when the finished bearing bracket is installed in a switching device.

A complete bearing bracket 11, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, consists of an angle 1 according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 as well as a further angle 1 which is completely mirror-inverted to this angle; Furthermore, connecting straps 12 in the form of rectangular pieces of sheet metal are required. These parts, ie the angles 1 and 1 'and the connecting straps 12 are connected in such a way that the distance between the legs 2 and 2' of the angles 1 and 1 'corresponds to the smallest possible tolerance of the width d of a holder 12 used to hold contact levers. A bearing pin 14 which engages in side walls 13 of the holder 12 can be used to position the parts, and the pivoting movement of the holder 12 is provided in later operation for switching the contact arrangement on and off.

As FIG. 5 in particular shows, the legs 4 and 4 'of the angles 1 and 1' face each other at a distance. The extensions 6 and 6 'are in the same position. To bridge these parts, connecting tabs 15 in the form of rectangular pieces of sheet metal made of a non-magnetic material are used, which are each provided with two through openings 16 and two further, outer, larger through openings 17. Due to a plastic deformation of the material of the legs 4 and extensions 6, material is now pressed into the openings 16 of the connecting straps 15, whereby a positive connection between the angles 2 and the connecting straps 15 is created. This process can be carried out in different ways, since both hand tools and machine devices can be used. The result of the plastic deformation is a pin of the legs 4 and 4 'and the extensions 6 and 6' which protrude into the openings 16 and which fix the angles 1 and 1 'at a dimensionally correct distance. By suitable dimensioning of the openings 16 and the degree of plastic deformation, it can be achieved that the pegs formed can completely absorb the shear forces that occur during later operation of the contact arrangement.

The through openings 17 of the connecting straps 15 are aligned with the through openings 5 of the legs 4 and 4 'and the through openings 7 of the extensions 6 and 6', respectively. By inserting screws into these aligned openings, the parts of the bearing bracket 11 are permanently connected, the screws merely ensuring the cohesion of the parts, but not taking over the shear forces that occur or determining the dimensional accuracy of the bearing bracket 11. Instead of the screws, other fasteners can be used, e.g. B. rivets, or spot welding or a similar method can be used. In the present case, screws have the advantage that the bearing bracket can be dismantled, since the die connection can also be separated by suitable tools.

It is also possible to use other methods and aids instead of the plastic deformation in connection with the connecting straps 15 acting as a lost die. For example, connecting lugs can be used without die extinguisher, and through holes can be made in the correctly positioned position of the parts, into which suitable connecting means, e.g. B. Grooved pins can be inserted. Similarly, rivets can be used to create both the temporary and shear link as well as a permanent and permanent connection. In this case, as well as when the parts are welded locally, there is no possibility of disassembling the bearing bracket again if this occurs immediately after the initial connection or later, e.g. B. at a repair of a circuit breaker is desired.

The use of the arrangement shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 will now be explained with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7. In these figures, a contact arrangement 20 for a low-voltage circuit breaker is shown, which comprises a fixed part 21 and a movable part 22. The movable part 21 has an insulating block 23 which carries an upper connecting bar 24 and a lower forked connecting bar 25. A stationary contact body 26 with a contact piece support 27 as well as a burn-off contact body 31 with a further contact piece support 32 and an electric arc 33 are connected to the upper connecting bar in a conductive connection Guide the burn contact lever 36. The two outer contact levers 35 have contact piece supports 37, while the middle contact lever 36 has a movable burn-off contact body 40 with a contact piece support 41. An arcing horn 42 is also connected to the burn-off contact body 40. The contact levers 35 and 36 are pivotable about a hinge pin 43 and are under the influence of compression springs, which are arranged in a known manner between the legs of the current strips 34.

The contact levers 35 and 36 are located in a holder 44, which corresponds in its construction to the holder 13 in FIGS. 4 and 5, but has a somewhat different shape of its side parts 45. In addition to the hinge pin 43, the side parts 45 receive a bearing pin 46 and a coupling pin 47. Here, the bearing pin 46 serves as a pivot bearing of the movable part 22 of the contact arrangement 1 around the bearing bracket in principle 11 in Figures 5 and 6 corresponding bearing bracket 50 which is attached to the insulating block 23. Insulating coupling members 51, which are connected to a suitable drive device of the circuit breaker, engage on the coupling bolt 47. The side walls 45 of the holder 44 are held by two or more bolts 53 at a distance caused by the contact levers 35 and 36 and between the intermediate layers 52 located between them. Because of the known influences, the width of the hatter can therefore vary. The bearing bracket is adapted to this width dimension in the manner described, so that individual dimensional deviations are always taken into account even in the case of series production of contact arrangements. all contact arrangements thus have a practically achievable lowest possible lateral guiding tolerance.

In the example shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, support brackets 54 for the current strips 34 engage between the side walls 45 of the holder 44 and the bearing bracket. However, these angles have no influence on the interaction of the bearing bracket 50 with the holder 44, since these parts are provided with facing impressions 55 and 56, which serve as guide surfaces. Due to the impressions 55 and 56, there is a distance between the side walls 45 of the holder 44 and the bearing bracket 50, which is in any case greater than the thickness of the support bracket 54.

2. Contact arrangement according to claim 1, characterised in that the bearing bracket (50, 11) has two angle elements (1, 1') which are constructed in mirror-image form and one leg (2, 2') of which is arranged parallel to side walls (13) of the holder (12) and further legs (4, 4') of which are directed towards one another, the further legs (4, 4') being connected at a dimensionally correct spacing by applied connecting straps (15) (Figs. 1, 2, 3, 4).
3. Contact arrangement according to claim 2, characterised in that the connecting straps (15) are provided, for use as a matrix, with apertures (16) into which, by plastic deformation, material from the one legs (2) of the angle elements (1, 1') can be pressed.
4. Contact arrangement according to claim 3, characterised in that the apertures (16) of the connecting straps (15) are dimensioned for a material cross-section sufficient for the complete transmission of stresses produced by current forces.
5. Contact arrangement according to claim 2, characterised in that the connecting straps (15) are made of a non-magnetic material.
6. Method of producing a contact arrangement according to one of the preceding claims, characterised by the following steps:
a) the angle elements (1, 1') are positioned in dimensionally true manner at the two sides of the holder;
b) The connecting straps (15) are applied to the further legs (4, 4') of the angle elements;
c) the further legs (4, 4') are plastically deformed locally to such an extent by pressure application by means of a tool that material enters the apertures (16) of the connecting straps, and as a result the angle elements are connected to one another at a spacing adapted to the holder (13);
d) the angle elements (1, 1') and the connecting straps (15) are permanently connected by additional securing elements.
