Claims (7)

1. Aviation turbojet having downstream of the turbine an afterburner comprising at least one device for injecting fuel into the stream, which device is connected to a pressurized fuel distribution circuit and a flame holder and is composed of an array of individual tubular injectors regularly distributed radially in the stream at right angles to the direction of flow and each connected, through holes (23) formed in the wall (3, 24) forming the stream, to the pressurized fuel distribution circuit (7, 9, 10), characterized in that each injector is fed separately from the others and has, associated with its tubular portion (6), an atomization chamber (12, 112, 212) taking a fraction of air from the stream in order to inject into the latter a finely atomized and widely diffused carburetted mixture, said atomization chamber (12, 112, 212) communicating with the tubular portion (5, 6) of the injector through at least one calibrated nozzle (11,111,211) and provided, on a face lying upstream in relation to the stream, with at least one inlet aperture (16) for air taken from the stream and, on a downstream face, with at least one aperture (17) for expulsion to the stream of the carburetted mixture composed of the atomized fuel suspended in the air admitted through the inlet aperture.
2. Turbojet according to Claim 1, characterized in that the upstream apertures (16) of the atomization chamber have a diameter of between 5 and 8 times the diameter of the downstream apertures (17) in order to permit turbulence of air in the atomization chamber such as to assist atomization.
3. Aviation turbojet according to one of Claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the atomization chamber is disposed at the end of the tubular portion (5) of the injector, said end being narrowed to form the fuel outlet nozzle (11), and in that facing said outlet nozzle said chamber is provided with a spherical dome (14) disposed on that wall of the chamber which lies between its upstream and downstream faces, on which dome the jet of fuel is shattered to effect a first atomization of fuel, the portion of the air flow which is admitted into the atomizaion chamber through the upstream apertures (16) effecting a second, finer atomization of the fuel and the finely atomized carburetted mixture being expelled from the chamber through the downstream apertures (17) into the stream.
4. Aviation turbojet according to Claim 2, characterized in that the atomization chamber is composed of a tubular sleeve (112, 212) closed at each end, surrounding the tubular portion (6) of the injector and fastened to the latter, the tubular sleeve (112, 212) forming the chamber being provided with at least one air inlet aperture (16) and with at least one carburetted mixture expulsion aperture (17), the axes of which apertures are parallel to the axis of streaming of the air flow, and in that the tubular portion of the injector is closed at its end (116, 216) and is provided on its wall with at least two nozzles (111, 211) leading into the atomization chamber, the axes of the nozzles (111, 211) being at right angles to the plane containing the axes of the upstream and downstream apertures (16 and 17 respectively) of the chamber.
5. Turbojet according to Claim 4, characterized in that the atomization chamber has two upstream apertures (16) of large diameter and three rows (17, 17a, 17b) of downstream carburetted mixture expulsion apertures, the downstream apertures of a first row (17) having their axes parallel to the axis of the flow, while the axes of the apertures of the other two rows (17a, 18b) are oriented, relative to the flow, at an angle between 30 and 50 degrees.
6. Turbojet according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, in which the afterburner is provided with a blowoff air supply device for the fuel circuit, comprising at least one blowoff box provided with a valve (18) permitting the passage of blowoff air into the injectors when the supply of afterburn fuel is cut off, characterized in that each injector (8) has associated with it a blowoff box (18) permitting simultaneous blowoff of all the injectors.
7. Afterburn turbofan engine according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, having an outer wall (3) delimiting the exterior of the secondary stream and an intermediate wall (24) fixed to the outer wall by an arrangement of fastening pins (26) and separating the secondary stream from the primary stream, characterized in that each injector (8) is fixed by known means to the outer wall of the secondary stream at the locations of the fastening pins (26) and passes through the intermediate wall by way of an opening in the latter, the atomization chamber being entirely contained inside primary stream.
