- a filling valve 9 via which the plate 3 can be filled with air by means of an air pump.
- the pressure which is expediently to be selected is expediently 0.5 to 1.5 bar, the desired spring characteristic of the plate 3 being able to be set continuously by means of different internal pressures.
- the spacer fabric plate 3 is now expediently glued over the entire surface to a rigid rear wall 10, for example a plywood or chipboard.
- This rear wall 10 is then hung via brackets 11 attached to its upper edge over the stationary wall 1 and can therefore be easily removed at any time Cover 12 to prevent balls from falling into this space.
- Practice balls 15 can then be hit in a conventional manner against the plate 3 thus assembled, which has a size of approximately 1.5 by 5 m and which is subjected to a corresponding air pressure.
- the air-filled spacer fabric plate 3 has a considerably higher resilience than a conventional exercise wall made of rigid material and its properties come very close to the conditions on the field with a real opponent. This significantly improves the desired training options. Since the plate 3 above is very weatherproof, it can also be left outdoors when it rains and practically only needs to be removed after the end of the outdoor season.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a baffle for tennis training. Such exercise walls, which stand outdoors or are formed by a hall wall, usually consist of unclad concrete, against which the player hits the balls. However, such concrete walls only have a moderate rebound effect for the impacting balls. As a result, the ball bounces back at the player at a greatly reduced speed, which means that the situation differs considerably from that in real play on the field, because here the balls come back from the opponent at a considerably higher speed.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating an impact wall which has a considerably greater resilience and thus comes closer to the conditions in a real game on the field with opponents.
To achieve this object, a one-piece, rectangular plate is provided according to the invention from a rubber-coated spacer fabric filled with air under excess pressure, the two outer fabric webs of which are kept at a constant distance by perpendicular pile threads and are connected airtightly to one another at the peripheral edge.
Such a rubber-coated spacer fabric is true basically known from DE-AS 21 48 401 after its manufacture and use for buoyant bodies, without special attention being paid to the essential property of an inherent rebound resilience.
The spacer fabric plate according to the invention can be filled with air at an operating pressure of approximately 0.5-1.5 bar via a valve by means of an air pump. The gas suspension now available results in a significantly higher rebound effect when hitting the ball. The internal pressure can be varied as desired, so that there is a continuously adjustable spring characteristic.
Further expedient configurations are mentioned in the subclaims.
- Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an overall arrangement of a tennis exercise wall and
- Fig. 2 shows a cross section through a baffle with a possible suspension and attachment.
As can be seen from Fig. 1, in front of a rigid wall 1, as is usually used as a practice wall and which is usually made of concrete, the plate 3 according to the invention made of rubber-coated spacer fabric is suspended above the tennis net 2.
As shown in detail in FIG. 2, there is the distance after the partial cross section through the plate 3 Fabric from the two
The spacer fabric plate 3 is now expediently glued over the entire surface to a rigid rear wall 10, for example a plywood or chipboard. This rear wall 10 is then hung via
