Abstract

A running-board of metal, especially a light-metal plank, with longitudinal ribs formed on it and with recesses provided in it and passing through the plank, is intended to be designed in such a way that simplification of production is possible. For this, the longitudinal rib (30, 30a) extends above a longitudinal groove (32) made in the underside of the tread surface (10, 11) and is so subdivided by indentations or such like interspaces (36) that the respective longitudinal groove forms the recess (32m) in the interspaces. At the same time, the length (s) of the interspaces (26), measured in the direction of the longitudinal rib (30, 30a), are intended to be shorter by at least half than the length (i) in the same direction of the remaining portions (39) of the longitudinal ribs, and moreover there can be provided a wave-shaped cross-section, in which the wave crests are formed by the longitudinal ribs (30, 30a) and the profile of the wave troughs (31) corresponds approximately to that of the longitudinal grooves (32). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a walkable tread made of metal, in particular a light metal plank, with longitudinal ribs molded onto it and recesses provided in it and penetrating the plank. The invention also relates to a method for its production by extrusion of light metal.

Such a step surface can be found in US Pat. No. 2,742,121, the continuous longitudinal ribs of which flank rows of recesses; these recesses have pairs of rib edges pointing upwards.

The described assignment of longitudinal ribs on the one hand and formations on the other hand does not allow simple manufacture of the previously known tread surface; the extrusion process must be followed by a stamping process, which requires new tools, especially when there are slight changes in the profile cross-section, and must also leave underneath-treated sections untreated.

In view of these circumstances, the inventor has set himself the goal of simplifying production here.

To achieve this object, the longitudinal rib runs above a longitudinal groove formed in the underside of the tread surface and is subdivided by incisions or the like. Gaps such that the respective longitudinal groove forms the recesses in the gaps.

According to a further feature of the invention, the length of the intermediate spaces measured in the direction of the longitudinal flu is at least half shorter than the rectified length of the sections of the longitudinal rib remaining after the intermediate spaces have been produced.

Thanks to these provisions, a step surface that can be produced in a simple manner and is also stable results, which is also suitable for being produced by extrusion; by means of a simple sawing process after the extrusion, those spaces are created, and with it the recesses. The previous requirement to produce recesses by means of a punching process has been eliminated.

According to the invention, the tread has a wave-shaped cross section, in which the wave crests are formed by the longitudinal ribs and the profile of the wave troughs corresponds approximately to that of the longitudinal grooves. In the case of longitudinal grooves of rectangular cross section, for example, this leads to troughs of the same shape and thus to strip-shaped longitudinal ribs.

According to another preferred embodiment, the cross sections of the wave troughs and wave crests are the same as those of truncated cones, which leads to slightly inclined flanks of the longitudinal ribs.

It has proven to be particularly favorable to undercut the longitudinal grooves; they can then serve as insert grooves for rubber profiles or the like which increase the surefootedness.

The walkable treads are particularly suitable for use in vehicle and building construction, for example as a cockpit and passenger stairs for airplanes, footbridges for tankers, outdoor stairs or footbridges for buildings and pedestrian overpasses.

Further advantages, features and details of the invention result from the following description of two preferred exemplary embodiments, which are shown in the drawing; the latter shows in
  • 1: a cross section through a stair step made of a light metal profile;
  • Fig. 2 is a partial plan view of Fig. 1;
  • 3: a partial top view of another light metal profile;

Der Abstand a der inneren Anformungswand 19 von einer Mittelachse M der Treppenstufe 10 entspricht etwa der doppelten Länge b des Schenkels 14.A stair step 10 made from an extruded light metal profile has, according to FIG. 1, a step plate 11, on the longitudinal edges 12 of which a channel profile 13 is formed; the free leg 14 of the channel profile 13 is inclined away from the tread plate 11 or a parallel Q 1 at an acute angle w and ends in a molding 15. The latter offers an undercut circular groove 16. The openings 17 of the round grooves 16 of both channel profiles 13 are delimited by profile edges 18 - bevelled at a common angle t - and open towards one another. The distance a of the inner molding wall 19 from a central axis M of the step 10 corresponds approximately to twice the length b of the leg 14.

In that central axis M runs a molded-on central web 20 which ends in a groove formation 2 '; this is equipped with a downward undercut groove 22, the center point Z 1 of which lies on a parallel line Q to the tread plate 11 together with the center points Z of the other two round grooves 16.

The opening 23 of the central groove 22 is also delimited by inclined edges 24 which determine an angle t. The inclined edges 24 are in the rest of the molded cross feet 25 - the groove 21 offers the cross section of an Omega.

For the rest, an undercut comb indentation 26 runs at the bottom of the grooves 16, 22 and lies opposite the respective opening 17 and 22, respectively. These grooves 16, 22 allow the stair step 10 to be simply fixed to a base frame.

The stair plate 11 is corrugated in cross-section, namely at a distance e between the central axes A of adjacent wave crests 30 and wave troughs 31; the number of wave crests 30 of a plate half of the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1, 2 is ten.

The wave crests 30 and wave troughs 31 each offer rectangular cross sections, as digested in particular by FIG. 1. Beneath each wave crest 30 producing a longitudinal rib there is a longitudinal groove 32 which - those troughs 31 offering - shape grooves 33 in the plate surface 35 corresponds. This creates a crenellated profile on both sides.

The top view of FIG. 2 shows that the longitudinal ribs 40, which are provided with sawtooth profiles, are interrupted at longitudinal spacing i (approximately 3 × e); In the space 36 of width s thus created between two sections 39 of rectangular top view that have remained standing, the lower longitudinal grooves 32 can be seen as recesses 32 m , which can ensure sufficient water drainage; the sections 39 formed from the longitudinal ribs 30 with their longitudinal webs 40 and transverse edges 41 form a non-slip tread.

A corresponding step surface can be seen in the embodiment of FIGS. 3, 4. The sections 39 are provided on their surface with cross-section crenellated longitudinal projections 40 m , of which the two outer parts overlap the trough 31 flanked by them and form edge tabs 34 according to FIG. 4. In the resulting undercut insert groove 31e, a rubber profile 50 is inserted, the surface 51 of which can increase the slip resistance, without the liquid removal being hindered thereby.

In the embodiment of Figure 10 b 5 30 similar to the wave crests a cross-section to the cross section of a truncated cone and are also provided with upper longitudinal ridges 40. here the longitudinal webs 40 on the opposite undersides correspond to longitudinal indentations 42.

In this exemplary embodiment, a molded-on central web 20 is missing, the longitudinal edges 12 pass over here in an angular profile 45 with a wall thickness q of 2.3 mm starting from the tread plate 11.

Der Mittelabstand m zwischen benachbarten Zwischenräumen 36 ist hier mit 24 mm angenommen.5 is 250 mm, the height h 40 mm and the height h i of the longitudinal webs 40 2 mm. The Oberflächenabstandf between two adjacent wave crests is measured mm in the present embodiment 17, the gap width s mm between the portions 39 a. 8 The center distance m between adjacent spaces 36 is assumed to be 24 mm here.

For all of the exemplary embodiments, the light metal profile 10, 10 a , 10 b can easily be produced by extrusion. In the longitudinal ribs 30 which are formed as continuous formations, transverse cuts are made by means of a saw or the like, which allow the described gap-like spaces 36 to be formed.
