Durch das seitliche Zuführen der Vorratsrollen können diese gleichzeitig eingefahren und gleichzeitig aufgenommen werden, wodurch sich erheblich geringere Totzeiten ergeben. In Fig. 1 ist eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens dargestellt. An einem über Flur aufgestellten Ständer 1 ist ein Längsträger 2 befestigt, auf dem ein Lager 3 für die querverschiebliche Lagerung eines über Rollen 4 an einer Quertraverse 5 abgestützten Tragrahmens 6 angeordnet ist. An dem Tragrahmen 6 sind an gegenüberliegenden Seiten Tragbalken 7 angeordnet, von denen einer zum seitlichen Einführen einer Wickelrolle 11 über den strichpunktiert angedeuteten Verstellbereich um eine horizontale Achse 20 verschwenkbar ist. An dem Tragbalken 7 ist über Kolbenstangen 8 und Spannköpfe 9 mittels Spannhülsen die Wickelrolle 11 drehbar gelagert. Die davon ablaufende Materialbahn 13 ist zwischen einem als umlaufend antreibbare Saugwalze 14 ausgebildeten Überführungsorgan und einer Führungsrolle 15 zu einer Speicherwalze 16 einer Speichereinrichtung geführt. Die Speicherwalze 16 kann in den angegebenen Pfeilrichtungen 18 durch nicht dargestellte Antriebsmittel bewegt werden. An den Längsträgern 2 ist eine Klemmvorrichtung 19 angeordnet. Die Saugwalze 14 ist an einem Schwenkarm 22 drehbar gelagert, der über eine nur angedeutete Zylinderkolbeneinheit 23 verschwenkbar ist. Zum Durchtrennen der Materialbahn 13 ist eine Schneideinrichtung 27 vorgegeben. Die Materialbahn 13 führt zu einer nicht dargestellten Verarbeitungsmaschine, z.B. einem Querschneider. 1.
