Abstract

The grinding head has a bar-like member, on whose free end is mounted a grinding tool with a grinding wheel spindle arranged at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the bar-like member. The grinding tool is driven by means of a work gear and a driving shaft, which is driven by means of a coupling with a motor. The motor is mounted in a casing, which is shaped onto the mounting flange. The grinding head can be vertically or horizontally arranged in the grinding or milling machine. Due to the fact that the grinding tool has a larger diameter than that of the bar-like member, facing groove sides in bores can be worked in one setting, so that the complete working operation is made faster due to the few idle strokes and simultaneously precision is increased.

Description

The invention relates to a grinding head for machining grooves and other recesses, in which a bearing for a rotating grinding tool and drive parts for driving the grinding tool are accommodated and which is fastened to a supporting part, the grinding head being a rod-shaped body in which the body Grinding tool projecting on opposite sides is mounted on one end of the body and is connected from the other, drive-side end via a gear to the shaft carrying the grinding tool, the grinding head being connected to a mounting flange having a housing for receiving the drive shaft of the grinding head .

For machining grooves and other recesses, broaching and pounding are mainly used, both methods are relatively narrow limits, since workpieces made of high-strength material or even hardened material cannot be processed with it.

From DE-A-2 552 259 a grinding head is known in which the grinding tool is mounted on a shaft within the cross section of a rod-shaped body. This shaft is driven by a belt drive, which extends along a rod-shaped body to the drive end opposite the grinding tool. Wetting the belt with the grinding fluid is unavoidable, which reduces the belt life. To counteract this wetting of the belt, it is provided that the mounting of the grinding tool and the belt is completely encapsulated by a cover tube and a cover sleeve. This means a considerable additional effort, which also brings sealing problems with use.

The invention has for its object to design a grinding head of the type described in such a way that it can be machined precisely in narrow bores while avoiding the disadvantages of the known grinding heads and recesses.

This object is achieved in that a high-frequency motor is provided as the drive part, which is coupled to a longitudinal shaft which extends through the rod-shaped body in an eccentric longitudinal bore parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof and is connected to the shaft of the grinding tool via a gear transmission with helical wheels , and the bearing, which is arranged on both sides of the grinding tool and supports the shaft of the grinding tool, accommodates the bearing which is more distant from the gear transmission in an arm which is fixedly arranged on the rod-shaped body.

The invention also includes a machine with which the use of the grinding head is optimally guaranteed. This object is achieved in that a stationary support is a horizontal yoke which is firmly connected to the ends of two vertical columns and on which the grinding head is mounted so as to be displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the yoke, with a support which is adjustable in height on the columns with respect to the distance from the stationary support Working table is formed for the workpiece, which is equipped with a single or a cross slide and preferably with a dividing head.

The grinding head 1 shown in FIG. 1 has at its drive end 7 a fastening flange 8 which is integrally connected to a housing part 10. A high frequency motor 13, e.g. with a liquid circulation cooling, which is connected to a toothed coupling 18 rotatably mounted in a rod-shaped body 6 on a drive shaft 14. The drive shaft 14 extends eccentrically through the rod-shaped body 6 and drives a grinding shaft 19 with a grinding tool 3, e.g. a grinding wheel, via a screw gear 20, of which the wheel 21 located on the drive shaft 14 is visible in FIG. 1, while the underlying wheel sitting on the grinding shaft 19 is not visible. The grinding shaft 19 is in bearings 22, 23, e.g. Rolling bearings, between which the grinding tool 3 is held by a driving ring 24, the bearing 22 is mounted in an arm 25 which is fastened to the rod-shaped body 6 by means of a pin 26 and screws 27 on the rod-shaped body 6.

In Fig. 2 sind einige, mit dem Schleifkopf nach Fig. 1 ausführbare Bearbeitungsbeispiele dargestellt, wobei diese das Schleifen a) einer Nut in einer Bohrung, b) einer Aussenrippe, c) einer Rechteckbohrung und d) einer Aussenvertiefung zeigen.FIG. 1 also shows a workpiece 30 shown in broken lines, in the bore of which the grinding head 1 is immersed and machined grooves 31, as will be explained in detail with reference to FIG. 3. In Fig. 2 are some that can be carried out with the grinding head according to Fig. 1 Machining examples shown, which show the grinding a) a groove in a hole, b) an outer rib, c) a rectangular hole and d) an outer recess.

The workpiece 30 shown in FIG. 3 to be machined has a bore 36 in which four grooves 37 (only three can be seen) are machined with a milling head according to FIG. 1, in which in FIG. 3 the free end 2 from below is visible. From Fig. 3 it can also be seen that the grinding tool 3, e.g. a grinding wheel, not only in Fig. 1 down, but also protrudes laterally from the cross section of the rod-shaped body 6. This results in the possibility of machining an opposite flank 38, 39 of two opposing grooves 37 in the same clamping, only a displacement of the slide carrying the workpiece 30 or the grinding head 1 being necessary. Once the flanks 38, 39 have been machined, the workpiece is rotated through 180 °, whereupon the opposite flanks 40, 41 are machined in one setting. 2, extremely precise machining of groove flanks with a small number of empty movements is achieved.

Erhebungen in grösserem Umfang geschliffen werden müssen.4, a grinding machine is described, which is equipped with the grinding head 1 described. The use of such machines comes into question when grooves or other depressions or elevations have to be ground to a large extent.

In Fig. 4, the grinding machine 45 has a machine bed 47 placed on a base 46, e.g., on a foundation. On the machine bed 47, two vertical columns 48, 49 are supported, which are firmly connected at their upper end to a horizontal support 50. On the support 50, a grinding head 1 with a housing 10 is mounted on a horizontally displaceable slide 51, the housing 10 can expediently contain the motor drive, as in FIG. 1. A horizontal work table 52 is guided in height-adjustable manner in guides 53, 54 on the columns 48, 49. On the work table 52, a cross slide 55 is fastened with a dividing device 56 with which the movements indicated by arrows can be carried out. The height adjustability of the work table 52 and the lateral adjustability of the slide 51 are also indicated by arrows and shown as manually operated adjustment drives. The cross slide 55 can also be designed as a single slide, since it only has to be moved in one direction with the grinding head 1 when the slide 51 is laterally movable. The workpiece mounted on the cross slide 55 and to be processed with the grinding head 1 is not shown for the sake of simplicity. A drive, e.g. a hydraulic drive, for the height adjustment of the work table 52; A control cabinet 58 is used to control and regulate the drives used on the machine 45.

With the described grinding machine, it is possible to use the grinding head 1 in an optimal manner and, with the grinding head according to FIG. 1, to process two opposite slot flanks in the same setting of the machine.

The grinding head 1 can also be used as a milling head. The gear ratios of the drives, drive parts and the other drive parts in the housing 10 must then be adjusted accordingly with regard to the different speeds during milling and grinding.
