Abstract

The building blocks of the toy building system have extensions (5) and recesses (6) for plugging together. In order to allow as many arrangements as possible, the building blocks have such extensions or recesses on at least three sides. A typical building block - a cuboid (1) - has extensions or recesses on all six sides. The extensions (5) can be plugged into the recesses (6) with clearance; as an alternative or in addition, the extensions can be completely or partially of conical construction. This enables walls to be built without difficulty. No effort of force is required for joining the building blocks together and taking them apart (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a modular system, the individual elements preferably made of wood are provided on at least three different sides independently of one another with at least one extension or with at least one recess for assembly.

Modules of the type mentioned are known for example from GB-PS 908 097. With this system you can connect both adjacent and superimposed modules. However, it is difficult to build walls. After you have put together the first row of building blocks, the first building block of the second row must be put on. However, there are difficulties from the next module: Because there are projections on the side and downwards (if there are recesses, the projections are on the modules that have already been put together), it is not possible to move the module into place without having to separate blocks that have already been put together. The block is too high to be able to make the lateral connection and too far to the side to be able to make the vertical connection.

The same problem also occurs with modules according to DE-OS 32 07 253. The problem is solved there in such a way that the cuboid blocks 2 (FIG. 1b) have no recesses or projections on the end faces.

It is an object of the present invention to design modules of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it is easily possible to construct walls and blocks.

This object is achieved by a modular system of the type mentioned at the outset in that the extensions can be inserted into the recesses with play and / or are at least partially conical.

Due to the game or the conical design, the disadvantages mentioned above are overcome. Although the individual elements are not only connected to the row above or below, but also to the individual elements that follow in the same row, it is easily possible to add to existing walls at any time. The number of different arrangement options, including fewer stones, is greatly increased. Since the extensions are designed to be insertable or conical with play in the recesses making it easier for young children in particular to assemble and disassemble the individual elements; a teaching effect is also achieved, namely that an impact on the "construction" destroys it.

Extensions and recesses preferably have a circular or square base area. In the first case - provided that two individual elements are only connected by an extension and a recess - the individual elements can be rotated relative to one another, in the second case there are four options for joining the individual elements together.

Cuboid-shaped individual elements preferably have at least one extension each on three sides and at least one recess each on the three opposite sides. A basic element of this type can thus be further built on each of the six side surfaces, as a result of which three-dimensional arrangements can be created in a simple manner.

According to a further feature of the invention, individual elements in the form of a regular three-sided prism have at least one extension on two side surfaces and at least one recess on the third side surface or at least one extension on one side surface and at least one recess on the other two side surfaces, and optionally one of the two parallel surfaces has at least one extension and the other parallel surface has at least one recess. With building blocks of this type it is possible to build "roofs". If the parallel surfaces also have extensions and recesses, the individual rows of the roof, which lie transversely to the time limit, also hold together.

Kunststoff, gefertigt werden.1 to 4 embodiments of individual elements according to the invention are described. 1 shows a cuboidal individual element, FIG. 2 shows a cubic individual element, FIG. 3 shows a prismatic individual element and FIG. 4 shows a cuboidal individual element with a recess. The cuboid-shaped individual element 1 has an extension 5 on a square side surface, a recess 6 on the opposite side surface, two extensions 5 on two sides and two recesses 6 on the opposite sides. The extensions each have a smaller diameter than the recesses. The cube-shaped individual element 2 has extensions 5 and 3 on three sides the opposite sides recesses 6. Conical extensions are shown in this module. The individual element 3 in the form of a regular three-sided prism has extensions 5 on two side surfaces and a recess 6 on the third side surface. In order to be able to join individual elements of this shape as desired, a second embodiment (not shown) is required which has a recess and on two side surfaces has an extension on the third side surface. The cuboid single element 4 with a recess can serve as a gate - installed in a wall. It has two extensions 5 on one side surface, two recesses 6 on the opposite side surface, three extensions 5 on the top surface and two recesses 6 on the base surface. The individual elements are preferably made of wood, but they can also be made of another material, for example plastic will.
