Abstract

An activating device for the release tappet of a longitudinally adjustable gas spring. The device is shiftable parallel to the longitudinal axis of the gas spring between a fixed and a release position, and comprises an activating lever fixable in two end pistons. Das korrespondierende Ende 34 des Betätigungshebel-Abschnitts 23 weist eine nach außen offene Ausnehmung 35 derart auf, daß zwischen der diese Ausnehmung 35 begrenzenden Sehne 36 und der Sehne 33 ein Zwischenraum a entsteht, welcher eine Schwenkbewegung des Betätigungshebel-Abschnitts 23 um ca. 90° ermöglicht, wobei andererseits aber auch eine Schwenkwinkelbegrenzung dadurch erreicht wird, daß bei einem Verdrehen aus der in Fig. 5 dargestellten Position die Sehne 36 gegen die Sehne 33 anschlägt. In der dementsprechend vollständig bis zum Anschlag nach rechts geschwenkten Stellung, wie sie in Fig. 4 dargestellt ist, liegt die tiefere Ausnehmung 25 unterhalb des Kolbens 15, während in der entsprechenden linken Endstellung die flachere Ausnehmung 25' unterhalb des Kolbens 15 liegt.End parts 28, 29 are screwed onto the two end faces 26, 27 of the second housing part 20, each with the formation of annular grooves 30, 31. Claims (10)

1. 2. An activating device according to claim 1, characterized in that the activating lever section (23) is stored in a cylindrical boring (22) of the second housing part (20).
3. An activating device according to claim 2, characterized in that a pivot angle limiting device for the activating lever (24) is arranged in the second housing part (20).

An activating device according to claim 3, characterized in that the pivot angle limiting device is formed such that one end (end part 29) of the second housing part (20) exhibits along the length of a circular chord (33) a reduced cross section of the boring in the cylinder (22), and that the end (34) of the activating device abutting the chord (36) exhibits along the length of a circular chord a recess (35) such that, between the limiting chord (33) of the cylinder boring (22) and the limiting chord (36) of the end (34) of the activating section (23), there remains a definable free play (a) for a pivot angle.
5. An activating device according to claim 4, characterized in that at least one end of the second housing (20) is formed as an unscrewable end part (29).

7. An activating device according to one of the claims 4 to 6, characterized in that a clear opening of the end part (29) is diminished by rolling.
8. An activating device according to one of the claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the first and second housing parts (19, 20) are made in cylindrical form and are welded together.
9. An activating device according to one of the claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the connecting device is made as a thread connection (outside thread 17, inside thread 21) with a counter nut (40).
10. Use of an activating device according to one of the claims 1 to 9 in combination with a gas spring for damping the pivotal movement of the back rest of an office chair.
