Description

The invention relates to a device for cleaning tabular elements, in particular glass panes, having a housing which has slot-shaped, seals provided at its ends with inlet or outlet openings for the elements to be cleaned and through which the tabular elements are conveyed essentially upright are, with a device for conveying the substantially upright, tabular elements through the housing, which has conveying means acting on the lower horizontal edge of the elements, and with cleaning members arranged in the housing.

Known devices of this type ("glass washing machines") contain, as cleaning elements, roller brushes which rotate about essentially vertical axes and which are associated with nozzle pipes from which a cleaning liquid, e.g. Water, to which a cleaning agent may have been added, is sprayed onto the roller brushes. Provided between two adjacent roller brushes on both sides of the table-shaped elements (glass panes) to be cleaned, rotating transport rollers rotating about vertical axes are provided. A disadvantage of the known devices is that the transport rollers have to be pressed against the glass sheets to be cleaned with considerable pressure in order to overcome the forces exerted by the rotating roller brushes on the glass sheets and to convey the glass sheets through the device. The required high contact pressure of the transport rollers against the glass sheets often results in pressure marks or grinding marks appearing on the glass sheets, particularly when they are coated glass sheets, and moreover increases the risk of breakage.

From DE-PS 33 33 175 is the use of Bandbür most known in glass washing machines. In DE-PS 33 33 175, however, no concrete solution to the problem associated with the transport of the glass panes to be cleaned by the glass washing machine is specified. It is only mentioned that the glass sheets are supported from below by rollers and fixed by guide and drive rollers which are not disclosed in more detail. Obviously, only the known drive rollers or transport rollers, which attack the glass surfaces, are thought of.

The cardboard plates lie with one of their side surfaces on endless conveyor belts and are gripped when they are inserted into a downstream device by pivotable drivers connected to the conveyor belts. The drivers of document FR-A-2 448 975 engage on the rear edge of the lying cardboard plates in relation to the conveying direction.

In the device known from US-A-3 520 399, plates or sheets are placed on a horizontal conveyor belt, with one of their side faces resting on the supports of the conveyor belt. In order to push the boards onto the conveyor, drivers 62 are provided which engage at the rear edge of the lying board.

In der DE-C-169 666 wird eine Schleppvorrichtung für stabförmiges Gut beschrieben, das quer zu seiner Längserstreckung auf einer Gleitfläche aufliegend durch an einer Endloskette oder an mehreren Endlosketten befestigte verschwenkbare Mitnehmer bewegt wird.DE-C-169 666 describes a towing device for rod-shaped material which is moved transversely to its longitudinal extent on a sliding surface by pivotable carriers fastened to an endless chain or to a plurality of endless chains.

The invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned, which even when using cleaning elements designed as band brushes (see. DE-PS 33 33 175) one Wall-free transport of the tabular elements permitted with a simply designed conveyor device. It should be unnecessary to drive rollers or rollers acting on the surfaces of the tabular elements.

In solving this problem, the device according to the invention is characterized in that an elongated conveying member is provided as the conveying means, on which the element to be cleaned stands up and which has drivers that can be pressed under its upper side, which on the vertical edge of the rear of the conveying direction attack element to be cleaned and that the drivers are pivotally mounted on the conveying member and pivot at least under the action of gravity and / or by a spring associated with each driver and pushing it into its operative position into its operative position projecting above the top of the conveyor member.

With the configuration of the conveyor device according to the invention, a reliable transport of the tabular elements to be cleaned is possible without conveyor rollers bearing against the surfaces of the glass panels being cleaned at high pressure.

The device according to the invention is particularly favorable if it has band brushes as cleaning elements, since the tabular elements to be cleaned are pressed downward by the brush belts rotating on their side facing the element to be cleaned, so that it is sufficient that the device according to the invention merely attacks in the area of the lower, horizontal edges of the tabular elements.

It is preferred that the conveyor link is designed as a link chain, on the top of which supports for the glass sheet are provided between the drivers.

In the device according to the invention it can further be provided that freely rotatable guide rollers are provided for lateral guidance of the tabular elements inclined at 4 to 5 ° with respect to the vertical on one or both surfaces thereof. It is preferred if the freely rotatable guide rollers have rings made of elastic material on their peripheral surface, which essentially only touch the element to be cleaned in a punctiform manner.

In the known devices of the type of the invention, problems arise insofar as the seals in the area of the inlet and outlet slots are designed as rubber strips or brushes.

The flat brushes shown and described in DE-A-2 741 276 are distribution brushes which are arranged inside the housing. They are not brushes which close slit-shaped inlet and outlet openings of a housing in which a cleaning device is provided. Furthermore, in the document DE-A-2 741 276 both brushes of each pair of flat brushes are rigidly attached.

In order to solve the problems caused by the known sealing members and still ensure a reliable seal, it is provided in the context of the invention that in the area of the inlet slot and / or the outlet slot of the housing and optionally in the area of at least one slot provided in the housing for both Sides of the conveying plane, brushes are provided essentially over the entire height of the slots, the bristles of which are oriented essentially transversely to the longitudinal extent of the slots and perpendicular to the conveying plane, that the brush arranged on one side of the slots is rigid, and that on the opposite brush is pivotally mounted on a substantially vertical axis.

An advantage of the design of the sealing elements according to the invention for the inlet and outlet slots and for slots in partition walls which may be provided in the interior of the housing is that brushes with soft bristles which prevent damage to sensitive surfaces of tabular elements can be used.

In order to keep the slots closed above the tabular elements to be cleaned, it can be provided in the context of the invention that the pivotable brush consists of a plurality of brush elements arranged one above the other is composed, which are pivoted independently of one another on the axis. In this embodiment, only the pivotable brushes located in the area of the element to be cleaned are folded away from the element to be cleaned, whereas the pivotable brushes located above the element remain in their position closing the slot.

A particularly reliable seal is achieved if the bristles of the pivotable brush elements are pressed against the bristles of the stationary brush in their rest position under the action of springs.

Es zeigt:Further details and features of the invention will become apparent from the following description of the exemplary embodiments shown merely schematically in the drawings. It shows:

A pair of ribbon brushes 1 shown in FIG. 1, which preferably used that in the device according to the invention Cleaning device is, comprises two belt brushes 2 and 3, which rotate around deflection rollers 4 and 5 and drive rollers 6 and 7 in the sense of the arrows shown. Both the deflection rollers 4 and 5 and the drive rollers 6 and 7 run around horizontal axes.

The drive direction of the band brushes 2 and 3 is selected so that they move downward in the region of their dreams 9 and 10 facing a glass sheet 8. The bristles 23 of the ribbon brushes 2 and 3 lie against the glass sheet 8 from both sides, so as to effect a polishing cleaning of the glass sheet 8. To support the cleaning process, the belt brushes 2 and 3, not shown, can be assigned devices for spraying cleaning liquid.

On the inner surface, i.e. H. on the surface facing away from the glass sheet 8 of the downwardly moving strands 9 and 10 of the ribbon brushes 2 and 3, sliding plates 11 and 12 are provided, along which the ribbon-shaped carrier 13 of the ribbon brushes 2 and 3 slide. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the sliding plate 11 of the belt brush 2 is rigidly mounted in the machine frame.

The sliding plate 12 of the belt brush 3 is designed as a pressure plate and is adjustable in the machine frame via horizontal guides 14 under the action of pressure medium motors 15 in the direction of the double arrows 16. Instead of the slide guides 14 and the pressure medium motors 15, other drives, such as drives having links or rack and pinion gear transmissions, can also be provided for adjusting the movable slide plate 12.

In order to ensure the required tension of the band brush 3, this is assigned a tension roller 18 in the region of its strand 17 which does not act on the glass sheet 8. This tension roller 18 moves opposite to the sliding plate 12.
For lateral guidance of the glass sheet 8, freely rotatable guide rollers 20, 21 are provided in the region of its lower edge on the glass sheet 8. The guide rollers 20 adjacent to the belt brush 2 with the rigid slide plate 11 are fixed to the machine frame, whereas the guide rollers 21 are movable transversely to the conveying plane to adapt to different glass thicknesses and are held in contact with the lower edge of the glass sheet 8, for example with the aid of springs 22.

An embodiment is also conceivable in which two band brushes 2 and 3 of a pair of band brushes 1 are assigned sliding plates (similar to sliding plate 12 from FIG. 1) that are adjustable in the direction of the double arrows 16. In this case, guide rollers (similar to guide rollers 21) are provided on both sides transverse to the plane of the glass sheet 8.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the bristles 23 are inserted directly into the band-shaped carrier material 13 of the band brushes 2 and 3. In the variant shown in FIG. 3, strips 24, which carry the bristles 23, are connected to the carrier 13, which in this case can also be formed by two or more narrow strips lying next to one another.

In the embodiment of a conveyor device for glass panels 8 according to the invention shown in FIG. 4, which supports the glass panels 8 simultaneously from below and conveys them through the device, an endlessly circulating conveyor element is provided, which is designed, for example, as a link chain 32 and on the driver 25 .mu.m essential horizontal axes 26 are pivotally mounted. The drivers 25 are pivoted by weight and / or under the action of springs 27 into a position in which their upper end 28 over the Link chain 32 protrudes. Between two adjacent drivers 25, for example, plastic supports 29 are provided, on which the lower edge 30 of a glass sheet 8 rests. The drivers 25 located under the glass sheet 8 are pressed down, whereas the driver 25 assigned to the rear, vertical edge 3l of the glass sheet 8 is pivoted upwards and lies against the edge 31 to convey the glass sheets 8 between a pair of ribbon brushes 1.

For lateral guidance of the glass sheet 8 serve z. B. the guide rollers 20 and 21, as shown in Figure 2.

The rollers 4, 5, 6 and 7 facing, i.e. H. the surface of the band brushes 2 and 3 opposite the bristles can be profiled in the manner of a toothed belt, at least the drive rollers 6 and 7 being designed as toothed rollers. In this way, good power transmission is ensured even without high longitudinal tension in the band brushes 2 and 3, which can be important for the invention. To increase the frictional connection between the belt brush and the drive roller, it is also sufficient if button-shaped or dome-shaped projections are provided on the carrier 13 which engage in corresponding recesses on the peripheral surface of the drive roller (or vice versa).

The carriers 13 which support the strips 24 (FIG. 3) are preferably designed as strips which are continuous over the entire width of a strip brush 2 or 3 and are optionally toothed on their inner surface. The strips 24 have, for example, a width of approximately 35-40 mm measured in the direction of movement (belt longitudinal direction).

In addition or as an alternative to the options described above for adjusting the thickness using the glide plates 12, 11 can also be provided that one of the belt brushes 2, 3 (or both) including their deflecting and drive rollers 4, 5, 6 and 7 transversely to the conveying plane of the glass sheet 8 to be cleaned, preferably by means of a motor. This adjustment option makes it possible, in particular, to carry out major changes in the distance between the facing strands of the band brushes 2 and 3.

A cleaning device shown in FIG. 5, in which the conveying device described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4 and the belt brushes 2 and 3 (not shown) are provided, has a housing 33, which at one end has an inlet slot 34 which extends from the bottom upwards and on the other hand has an outlet slot 35. The housing 33 is further divided into a cleaning section 37 and a drying section 38 by an intermediate wall 36.

Zur seitlichen Abstützung der zu reinigenden Elemente könnenFor the transport of the tabular elements (glass panes) to be cleaned through the housing 33, a conveyor chain 32 with drivers 25, as described with reference to FIG. 4, is assigned to the latter. For lateral support of the elements to be cleaned

In the interior of the housing 33, in addition to guide rollers 20, 21, support rollers 40 freely rotatably mounted on essentially vertically extending strips 39 may be provided.

In the cleaning section 37 of the housing 33 are not shown cleaning elements, for. B. the band brushes 2 and 3 (Figures 1 to 3) are provided.

In the drying section 38 of the housing 33 there are provided drying fans 41, indicated by arrows, from which, if necessary, heated air is applied to the cleaned and to be dried surfaces of the tabular elements (Glass panes 8) is blown.

Verschlußorgane 42 auch außerhalb des Gehäuses 33 angeordnet sein..In the area of the inlet slit 34, the outlet slit 35 and a slit in the intermediate wall 36 of the housing 33, sealing and closing members 42 to be described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7 are provided. The sealing or closing members assigned to the outlet slit 35 can be provided 42 can also be arranged outside the housing 33.

The sealing or closing elements 42 schematically indicated in FIG. 5 each comprise a fixed brush 43 and a brush 45 which can be pivoted about an essentially vertical axis. The arrangement is generally such that the fixed brush 43 is on the same side as that Support rollers 40 or the non-adjustable belt brush 2 is arranged. The pivotable brush 45 is formed by a plurality of brush elements 46 which can be pivoted independently of one another and are pivotably mounted on a common, vertical axis 47. Spacer elements 48 are provided between the individual brush elements 46.

Es versteht sich, daß die Dichte der Borsten 49 und 50 erheblich größer ist als in den Figuren 6 und 7 gezeigt, und nur der besseren Übersichtlichkeit wegen weniger Borsten 49 und 50 eingezeichnet sind.FIG. 6 shows that the bristles 49 of the movable brush elements 46 are so long that they rest on the bristles 50 of the fixed brush 43 in their rest position closing the slot 34. It goes without saying that the density of the bristles 49 and 50 is considerably greater than that shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, and only for better clarity because fewer bristles 49 and 50 are shown.

The movable brush elements 46 are pressed by springs 51 into the closed position, in which the bristles 49 of the brush elements 46 abut the bristles 50 of the fixed brush 43. If a tabular element 8 is conveyed through a slot 34 or 35 of the housing 33, then ver pivot the movable brush elements 46 in the area of the plate-shaped element 8 (see FIG. 6 below). The brush elements 46 above the tabular element 8 (see FIG. 6 above) remain in their closed position, ie they rest on the fixed brush 43, so that the slot is not opened there.
