Description

The present invention relates to a multicellular centrifugal pump mounted on a pump body between this body and a drive motor and comprising cells each equipped with a centrifugal turbine and a static part formed by a diffuser and channels, these cells being stacked on a pump shaft with a bearing for this shaft which is connected to a drive motor by a coupling, the stacked cells being surrounded by an annular envelope, providing an annular channel for discharging the pump liquid, and being mounted vertically on a pump body having suction and discharge ports.

In the prior art, it is known to produce pumps constituted by a stack of pumping cells. On a common pump shaft, several cells comprising hydraulic and mechanical elements are stacked one after the other. The assembly is coupled to a motor shaft by a coupling device. In the event of a breakdown or in the event of a change in pumping characteristics, it is forced to dismantle, on the installation in place, each of the elements of the pump that must be replaced. Intervention times are long, expensive and immobilize the installation without pumping for a time which can be significant.

Document DE-C-832 854 describes a multicellular pump where the cells are assembled by tie rods to suction and discharge pipes as well as to ball end bearings protected against liquid leakage by supports of sealing. This arrangement of the pump allows its interchangeable coupling to the suction and discharge pipes as well as to a drive motor but does not allow this assembly to be inserted between a pump body located at the bottom and a drive motor. located in the upper part, according to the arrangement most generally used for common multi-stage pumps of medium power.

According to document GB-A-2013279, a multicellular centrifugal pump is arranged vertically between a lower body provided with a fluid inlet and outlet and respectively an upper body located on the side of the drive motor. Tie rods seem to connect the upper body to the lower body, and so that in order to exchange the hydraulic assembly of this pump, it is necessary to disconnect not only the motor coupling but also the suction and repression.

The present invention specifically aims to allow, in case of replacement of the hydraulic assembly of the pump, easy disassembly of this hydraulic assembly without having to intervene on the circuit of the suction and discharge lines of the pump.

In order to remedy the drawbacks of the prior art, the present invention relates to a multicellular pump which is characterized mainly by the fact that the hydraulic and mechanical elements of the pump are included in a removable cartridge, on the one hand on the side of the drive shaft, on the other hand on the side of the circuit of the fluid to be pumped.

According to the invention, the stacked cells form, with the envelope, the shaft and a sealing system for this shaft, a cartridge of hydraulic assembly, this cartridge being made in one piece by a set of tie rods connecting a flange greater than a lower flange provided with a suction flange and an annular delivery chamber, and the monobloc cartridge is fixed with interposition of seals and easily interchangeably, on the one hand on the side of the motor shaft by screws cooperating with the upper flange and on the other hand, on the side of the pump body by screws or bolts fixing the lower flange to the pump body.

According to another embodiment, the monobloc cartridge comprises at its upper part, around a motor coupling device, a lantern which allows access to the sealing system, which is connected to the upper flange by screws and which carries a motor centering flange fixed by screws, so that after release of the coupling, motor fixing screws on the centering flange, lifting the motor above the lantern and releasing the screws or fixing bolts on the pump body, the monobloc cartridge can be released and replaced by another in working order. The motor centering flange is fixed to the lantern by screws.

Other characteristics and advantages will appear on reading the description and the attached single figure.

In the figure, there is shown a vertical multicellular pump of the centrifugal type mainly comprising a motor 1 coupled by a device 2 to a hydraulic assembly 3. The pump is mounted on a circuit of fluid to be pumped comprising mainly a suction pipe 8 and a discharge line 9. The motor shaft 4 is coupled by means of a coupling device 6 to the shaft 5 of the pump itself.

The hydraulic and mechanical elements are contained in several successive stages established along the pump shaft 5.

By hydraulic element is meant at least one cell like that 7a shown in the figure. It comprises a centrifugal turbine 12 and a static part formed by the diffuser 30 and channels 31. By mechanical element is meant, for example, the cell 7b which comprises a support 13 and a bearing for guiding the shaft 5, composed of a jacket 14 and a pad 15 secured to the support 13. It is mainly these hydraulic and mechanical elements which are subject to wear or deterioration due to conditions of use which may cause degradation, disturbance or stoppage.

In the prior art, an intervention was then required. complete disassembly of the pump to carry out its repair.

According to the invention, the cartridge 3 essentially consists:
  • - the shaft 5 fitted with a sealing system 23,
  • - a fla _-! ue lower end 19, said closing,
  • - an upper end flange 24.

The assembly is made in one piece by a plurality of tie rods 17 which attach the lower flange 19 to the rest of the cartridge. Here, the tie rod 17 connects the two end flanges. However, the cartridge can also take the form of a cartridge 3b, cartridge 3 to which a lantern 2 has been added which gives access to the sealing device 23. It can also be associated with a centering flange 32 of the cartridge 3b on motor 1.

La cartouche 3b est donc montée sur le moteur 1 par des vis 38.The lantern 2 is linked to the upper flange 24 by screws 27 and the centering flange 32 to the lantern 2 by screws 33. The cartridge 3b is therefore mounted on the motor 1 by screws 38.

This constitution allows in particular global interventions on the pump outside the engine. Thus any change of pump can be carried out by an operator not specialized in an operation on the site of very simple technical difficulty lasting only a very short time which reduces the cost of immobilizing the pump. We also reduce the cost of intervention. The constitution of a global and storable cartridge of hydraulic and mechanical elements makes it possible to avoid the use of a complete backup group provided in reserve. It also avoids the management of a complicated set of pumps because one no longer has to manage a large number of spare parts as was the case according to the prior art. It is also possible to customize each application by simply changing the cartridge on the site. Thus the impellers and the fixed parts can be made both of synthetic material and of stainless steel, for example. The pumping characteristics change according to the material and the shape of the hydraulic and mechanical elements.

La fixation entre le flasque 19 et le corps de pompe 20 est réalisée par plusieurs boulons 18.To seal the cartridge, it has seals 35, 37 disposed between the flange 19 and the cartridge body 16 and an O-ring 39 disposed between the flange 19 and the pump body 20. The diameter of the housing of the pump body 20 which receives the seal 39 is indicated by D. The sealing device 23 makes it possible to prevent the pumping liquid from rising up along the shaft towards the coupling device. In the preferred embodiment, the pump is mounted on a pump body of the "in line" type where the suction 8 and discharge 9 ports are aligned and at the same level. The suction pipe 8 of the pump body communicates with a suction flange 10 connected, at the foot of the shaft 5, to the first hydraulic element 7a. The pumped fluid is sucked up and goes up along the shaft 5 in the succession of stacked cells before finally falling back into an annular channel 11 disposed between the outer envelope 16 of the cartridge and the cylindrical surface 26 formed by the stacking of cells . The pumping liquid enters an annular delivery chamber 22 which communicates with the delivery pipe 9. The fixing between the flange 19 and the pump body 20 is carried out by several bolts 18.

For the maintenance of the multicellular pump according to the invention, it is necessary firstly to release the coupling device 6 which connects the shaft 5 to the motor shaft 4. Then, in a second step in the case where the cartridge is of the type 3b, the centering flange 32 connections are released - motor 1 by operation of the screws 33 and inner flange 19 - pump body 20 by operation of the screws 18. By simple lifting of the engine block 1 - coupling device 6, it is then possible to release the cartridge 3b which can then be returned for the usual repairs or for a simple cartridge change.
