Abstract

A bath-tub provided with a shower wall (6) comprises against its front free longitudinal side-wall (12) an upright (5) maintaining the shower wall (6) and thereby allowing a person to take a shower inside a separate shower cabin into the bath tub and which, when it is folded, does not prevent someone from taking a bath in the bath tub and does not impede access to the taps which are arranged on the walls surrounding the bath tub. The shower wall (6) is preferably comprised of two multi-element panels (6a, 6b) which are foldable together in groups and collapsably and pivotingly secured to the upright (5) by means of a strip (26).

Description

The invention relates to a bathtub with a door or umbrella-shaped shower partition, which is divided into a plurality of interconnected elements and is arranged above the upper edge region of an exposed longitudinal side wall of the tub body and can be pushed or folded or folded.

Such bathtubs with a shower partition - for example in the form of a sliding door or a foldable splash guard, as in the patent document US-A-1 990 871 are known. They suffer from various defects, which can be attributed to the fact that on the one hand the bathtub and on the other hand the shower partition are made regardless of one another (regularly from different manufacturers) and are only combined with one another at the installation site.

The aim of the invention is therefore to counter these deficiencies by an integrated design of bathtub and shower partition in order to facilitate showering in the bathtub.

According to the invention it is provided that an approximately vertically upward extending post extending into the exposed longitudinal side wall is fixedly connected to the tub body by means of fastening elements arranged below the upper edge of the tub body and supports the shower partition.

This post can be attached to the bathtub itself, but it can also be attached to a supporting structure for the actual bathtub. It can also be arranged next to the upper edge of the longitudinal side wall so that the skirt forming the outer wall runs past the inside of the post; the post can also penetrate the top of the bathtub.

The shower partition preferably consists of two multi-part folding umbrellas that can be folded into packages, which are articulated on the two vertical edges of a strip, the width of which corresponds approximately to the total thickness of both packages, and which in turn is attached to the post so as to be pivotable about a vertical axis. In this way, on the one hand, a spacious shower cubicle can be separated inside and above the bath body, on the other hand, no bath function of the bath tub is hindered when the shower partition is folded.

The arrangement can also be such that the post consists of a hollow profile rod, through the interior of which at least one inflow pipe is guided for a shower fitting arranged at the upper end of the post. A handle can also be attached to the post. In this way, the post takes on several functions, and additional assembly work on the walls of the bathroom can be omitted.

It is also advantageous to bulge the exposed longitudinal side wall of the tub body, in particular in the cross-sectional shape of an elongated trapezoidal polygonal cable, because the space of the tub body that can be separated into a shower cubicle is thereby increased without the front connection dimensions of the bathtub being changed. It is then advisable to arrange the post at an inflection point of the polygon.

Further preferred embodiments of the invention are the subject of additional subclaims. This also includes a - generally applicable - temperature monitoring device; to this extent, it is provided that a temperature sensor is attached to the water outlet in a heat-conducting connection with a metallic connecting part protruding into the tub space, which temperature sensor gives the measured temperature value to a display device. This display device can be attached to the wall, but also, for example, to the post and gives the user of the bathtub an indication of the actual water temperature in the tub at any time - and shortly after the tub has started to be filled - without any additional information Measures on the part of the user are required. With such a temperature display, a time display can also be connected or linked, which additionally give signals or can be used for control measures.

The new bathtub consists essentially of a tub body 1 together with support frame 2 (FIG. 4), base 3 and apron 4, the post 5 and the shower partition 6.

The support frame 2 carries on the one hand the tub body 1 (made of plastic or made of sheet steel) and also holds the base 3 and the apron 4; the latter serve for the outer cladding. Is attached to the support frame 2, with the help of a rail 7th and a gusset plate 8, but also the post 5, in that tabs 9 arranged on the rail 7 clamp the post 5 by means of screw connections, not shown.

Mindestens im Bereich des Duschabschnitts 41 ist der Oberrand 11 der Längsseitenwand 12 abgesenkt (Fig. 1).The tub body 1 is shaped taking into account the anatomical conditions of the human body and has, among other things, projecting armrests 10. The bottom of the tub body 1 is offset in the shower section 41 from the bath sections 42 adjoining on both sides, for example by surface profiling. The upper edge 11 of the longitudinal side wall 12 is lowered at least in the region of the shower section 41 (FIG. 1).

In parallel to the upper edge 11 of the exposed longitudinal side wall 12 and to the upper edge 13 of the opposite longitudinal side wall 14, which generally faces a room wall, folds 15 are formed in the bath body 1, onto which a plate 17 (indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIGS. 4 and 5) is placed and in the longitudinal direction of the tub body (in Fig. 4 to the left or right) can be moved as required.

The post 5, as illustrated in FIG. 8 on an enlarged scale, consists of a hollow profile rod. The screw connection between the tabs 9 belonging to the base frame 2 (FIG. 5) is stiffened within the hollow profile by sleeves 18. The post 5 is arranged at an inflection point of the trapezoidal longitudinal side wall 12, which is elongated in plan, and is at a distance from the closer transverse side wall 40, which in the open state of the shower partition 6 (FIG. 3) spans an element 22.

In the interior of the post 5 there is an inflow line 19 for a shower head 20 (omitted here, shown only in FIG. 5); which is directed into the interior of the tub body 1. The hollow profile of the post 5 obviously provides space for further or different types of supply line if this should be desired. A control valve can easily be accommodated in the post 5; it is not shown in the drawing. On the other hand, a handle 21 attached to the post 5 is shown, which makes it easier to get in and out of the tub body 1 - in particular elderly or disabled people.

Fig. 3).A U-profile 29 fastened to the inside of the tub 5 on the inside of the tub 5 with the aid of the plate 29a serves to fasten the shower partition 6 (omitted in FIG. 5). The structural design thereof can best be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3. It consists of two multi-part folding screens 6a and 6b. The folding screen 6a has two elements 22 (consisting in a conventional manner of frame and synthetic glass filling), the folding screen 6b three. The hinge straps 23 are designed so that the elements 22 can be folded into mutual contact; the hinge strip 24 also such that the elements 22 further away from the post can be folded together (snail-like) against the element 22 closer to the post (cf. FIG. 3).

The post-side elements 22 of both folding umbrellas 6a, 6b are articulated with their vertical edges adjacent to the post 5 on the two vertical longitudinal edges 25 of a strip 26, which in turn - as shown in FIG. 3 - is pivotally attached to the U-profile 29 and thus to the post 5 . The width of the strip 26 is dimensioned such that it corresponds approximately to the total thickness of both folded folding umbrellas 6a and 6b, as is also clear from FIG. 3.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the elements 22 of the shower partition 6 protrude somewhat from above into the interior of the tub body 1 in order to ensure good splash protection. The lower, outer corners of the elements 22 removed from the post 5 are therefore notched somewhat (at 27 in FIGS. 2 and 5), so that these elements 22 in the opened state of the folding screens 6a, 6b on the upper edge 13 in the region of the longitudinal side wall 14 can be put on.

Fig. 7 veranschaulicht die oben erwähnte Temperatur-Meßanordnung. Fig. 7 illustrates the above-mentioned temperature measuring arrangement. At the bottom of the tub body 1, the parts 30 and 31 are connected and fastened by means of the screw 32. Seals 33, 34 (which do not rest against the tub body 1 and the parts 30, 31 only for a better illustration) serve to seal the water outlet 35 (FIGS. 4 and 5) with respect to the tub body 1. A (temperature) sensor 36 is on the (metallic) part 30 attached thermally conductive. Via the line 37, which is sealed through the part 31, the measurement signal is sent to a display device, which can be attached to a room wall in the extension of the longitudinal side wall 14 of the bathtub or else to the post 5. Such a measuring device can have a liquid crystal display and (with the aid of a microprocessor) display additional information - for example the time - and process it for control purposes if necessary.
