Description

The present invention relates to a process for packaging products, in particular food products such as chocolate bars or bars or the like, in which a packaging material is used which consists of a sheet of heat-sealable aluminum strip.

It also relates to the packaging obtained because of the process.

Usually, the chocolate bars are packaged in a first package consisting, for example, of a multilayer complex, heat sealable or not, one of the layers of which is for example aluminum folded by an appropriate mechanism, known per se, then in a second packaging consisting of a banner or printed paper label. This process, which has become classic, continues to be used on a very large scale. However, it requires facilities for supplying and folding at least two different packaging materials. Furthermore, this type of packaging does not necessarily meet the inviolability criterion.

Single-operation packaging machines have been developed, using one or more packaging materials folded simultaneously in a folding box. This type of packaging is neither waterproof nor tamper-proof.

Therefore, at present, only two-operation machines are capable of achieving sealed and tamper-proof packaging.

These machines have, of course, the drawback of being particularly bulky and expensive.

The present invention proposes to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by performing a folding in a single operation, which has the appearance as well as the advantages of a folding of the conventional type.

This object is achieved by the method according to the invention, characterized in that an asymmetrical tube is formed, using this packaging material around the product, such that one of the edges of the sheet exceeds 1 'other edge and forms a foldable cover tab, in that one carries out a longitudinal sealing of the tube by sealing the other edge of the sheet against the base of this tab, in that one forms the lateral folds that it is folded against the underside of the product and in that the tongue is folded over this underside so as to hide the lateral folds.

La présente invention sera mieux comprise en référence à la description d'un exemple de réalisation préféré et du dessin annexé dans lequel:The present invention will be better understood with reference to the description of a preferred embodiment and the attached drawing in which:

La fig.1 représente une vue en perspective d'une première phase du procédé selon l'invention, au cours de laquelle on forme le tube de matériau d'emballage autour du produit,FIG. 1 represents a perspective view of a first phase of the method according to the invention, during which the tube of packaging material is formed around the product,

2 shows a view identical to that of FIG. 1, but illustrating a later phase of the method according to the invention,

3 represents the phase of folding down the covering tab, and

Fig.4 shows a perspective view of the product packaged according to the method of the invention.

1.With reference to fig. 1, the product consisting, for example, of a chocolate bar 10 is surrounded by a sheet 11 of packaging material consisting of heat-sealable aluminum, that is to say coated with a heat-bonding coating such as for example polyethylene. A tube is formed around the product and the edge 12 is sealed against the inner surface of the base of a covering tongue 13 produced by asymmetrically arranging the two longitudinal edges of the sheet 11 as shown in FIG. 1.

Then, as shown in fig. 2, the side folds 14 and 15 using pushers acting in the direction of the arrows A and B. This technique is well known and will not be described in more detail in this text. When formed and before being folded down, these side folds are sealed.

When the two lateral folds 14 and 15 are completely folded against the underside 16 of the product, it is folded down, as shown in FIG. 3, in the direction of arrow C, the cover tab 13, to result in a packaged product as shown in fig.4. The cover tab 13 can be point-sealed or - optionally glued along line 17 or - along at least part of this line.

This process therefore makes it possible to end up with a packaging which has a classic appearance, the lateral folds not being visible, since they are hidden by the cover tab.

To this end, the covering tab preferably has a width sufficient to enable it to cover almost the entire underside 16 of the product.
