Description

The invention relates to a single-pole or multi-pole thermal overcurrent relay arranged in a divided housing with a tripping slide actuated by one or more tripping bimetallic (s) associated with a phase, which is designed like a comb or ladder in a guide provided on the housing base for this purpose is displaceable, and with two spaced adjusting elements.

Such overcurrent relays are used to protect electrical components such. B. electric motors, before overloading due to impermissibly high power consumption.

The release bimetals in each phase heat up due to the current flowing and deflect accordingly from their rest position. This change in position is transmitted directly to the constantly present trigger slide, which in this case carries out a translational movement until it has reached the trigger point in the switching mechanism with which it is constantly in engagement.

When the trigger point is reached, a switching mechanism is triggered and the current flow is interrupted.

From CH-PS 483 113 a multi-pole thermal overcurrent relay is known which, arranged in a split housing, has a tripping slide actuated by tripping bimetals and a switching mechanism which engages with it.

From US-A 3 638 158 a thermal overcurrent relay of the type mentioned has become known, in which bimetals each associated with a phase interact with a trigger slide composed of two comb-like slide elements. The two slide elements are articulated to one another by means of a connecting lever; A rear derailleur is operated via the connecting lever. The position of the one slide element relative to the other slide element is adjusted by means of a U-shaped bracket serving as an adjusting element, so that the position of the connecting lever relative to the switching mechanism can be changed.

As already stated, each deflection of the bimetals is to be assigned a specific value of the current intensity in accordance with the distance traveled by the trigger slide. This relationship applies as long as the geometric conditions remain the same, that is, as long as the position of the trigger slide with respect to the guide in the housing or the bimetals does not change and no additional forces are effective, is triggered at the specified overcurrent value and the current interrupted.

In the known thermal overcurrent relays, inadmissible coincidence of tolerances or wear-induced dimensional deviations of the manufacturing tool and thus of the workpieces can lead to an unacceptably large amount of play on the trip slide and result in its tilting, tilting or jamming. Such a fault inevitably leads to a falsification of the tripping characteristic of the overcurrent relay, i. that is, only triggered at an impermissibly high current.

To achieve maximum triggering accuracy, it is therefore necessary to guide the trigger slide actuated by the bimetallic elements with a minimal and constant play in the housing. As is known, this is achieved in that from a range of trigger slides of different heights, the one determined after a measurement process is selected as correct and inserted into the housing.

The object of the invention is to avoid storing different release slides and to simplify the adjustment process by using suitable means.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1.

The adjusting elements are accordingly spaced from each other so that with their help an exact adjustment of the height play of the trigger slide is possible by raising or lowering the end or the ends of one or the other adjusting element or both. Due to the displacement and due to the fact that the adjusting elements designed as rigid brackets after their adjustment are firmly in the housing or in the housing wall and in the corresponding Once they have been frictionally fixed, the height play resulting from the manufacturing tolerances, once set and corrected, remains constant over the entire operating time of the overcurrent relay.

The adjusting elements are inserted into the housing in such a way that the limitation of the height play of the trigger slide is set at its ends.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention can be such that a stop is provided in each area for the adjustment of the adjustment elements, against which the adjustment elements bear. In this way, a predetermined game can be achieved.

To adjust the height play or for its visual and / or mechanical control, slots are preferably provided in the side walls, which are opposite the end faces of the trigger slides. This allows the height play to be checked or checked from the outside, namely in terms of installed, assembled condition.

Based on the drawing, in which an embodiment of the invention is shown, the invention and further advantageous refinements and improvements of the invention are to be explained and described in more detail.

In Figure 1, a housing 10 is shown schematically with a rectangular cross-section, into which a one-piece trigger slide 14 is delimited to the side and downwards by the housing wall 12, so that it is guided in the axial direction by housing webs arranged to separate three trigger bimetals 18 with heating conductors is.

The one-piece trigger slide 14, which rests like a ladder with its three connecting webs 26 at the free ends of the release bimetals 18, slides on the underside 20 of the housing and is thereby supported by two adjustment brackets 24 arranged on opposite side walls 22 with a nose-shaped bulge, in short nose 25, in its height play "A" limited.

The brackets 24 are guided in a T-shaped groove 23 which is formed in or integrally with the housing side wall 22, with expansion brackets 42, 44 provided in pairs one above the other at the guide end 40 of the adjusting bracket 24 clamping in the groove 23 and effecting a non-positive fixing of the adjusting bracket 24.

The conclusion at the top is an intermediate plate, not shown, which separates the lower housing part 10 from the upper housing part, not shown, and is finally inserted flush during assembly.

For assembly and adjustment purposes, a vertical slot 21 can be provided on both sides in the housing side walls 22, as shown in FIG. These slots 21 lie opposite the end faces of the trigger slide 14 and permit visual and / or mechanical control of the height play "A" in the assembled state of the overcurrent relay.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, a lower stop 27 can be provided to limit the sliding path of the adjusting bracket 24 downwards, which is designed such that the adjusting bracket 24 only touches the stop 27 in the region of the guide end 40, so that the cantilever arm with the nose 25 is free, ie unloaded from the stop 27, and experiences positive engagement with the upper edge 36 of the slide.

From the angled guide end 40 as shown in FIG. 3, expansion tabs 42, 44 are provided in pairs symmetrically to the longitudinal axis, which prevent tilting in the groove 21 on the one hand and on the other hand fix the adjustment bracket 24 by non-positively locking against the wall of the groove 21 invest. The expansion tabs 42, 44 are pre-bent out of the flat guide end 40 in the direction of the nose 25 and thus ensure exact guidance. In the middle region between the upper expansion brackets 42, the flat guide end 40 has a contact surface 46 which is convexly curved forward in the direction of the bracket, the upper end face of which serves to enlarge the contact surface for the tool with which the bracket is pushed into its end position.

For the example shown, the functional principle mentioned at the outset applies; That is, the trip bimetals 18 are either directly (conductive) or indirectly (heated by resistance wire) heated and turned in the direction of arrow B when the current is switched on, the webs 26 of the trip slide 14, which are always present, being guided horizontally and undergoing the same movement.

During this movement, the release slide 14 can tip as a result of excessive clearance A, as a result of which additional forces which must be overcome by the release bimetal 18 occur.

In order to limit this impermissible play, the use of the two adjusting brackets 24 is provided, which are slidably mounted within a T-shaped groove 21 arranged in or on the wall 22. In this case, the stirrups are shifted in the direction of the trigger slide until their support points 25 touch the trigger slide 14. Then they are moved in opposite directions until the permissible dimension A is reached. This dimension A is synonymous with the permissible height play.

As an alternative to this, a lower stop 27 (see FIG. 1) can also be provided, against which the adjusting bracket 24 is displaced, it being ensured that the nose 25 non-positively acts on the upper edge 36 of the slide. To adjust the height play A, a correspondingly dimensioned plate may be inserted beforehand between the nose 25 and the upper edge of the slider or subsequently inserted through the slot, so that the bracket can plastically deform and after removal of the plate the arrangement has the specified play.
