Description

The invention relates to an outsole made of resilient plastic for a tennis shoe, in particular indoor tennis shoe, in the smooth, non-profiled running side of which at least one insert, which forms a sliding zone and is made of a material different from the sole material, is arranged. It is known that when practicing tennis on plastic, tartan, rough concrete and carpets, as can be found mainly in tennis halls, the sole construction must ensure that the tennis player with sufficient standing and Slip resistance can also slip to a certain extent in a controlled manner. As a result, the load peaks that occur when there is no slippage are reduced on the tennis player's musculoskeletal system. For this purpose, a circular insert made of chrome leather is provided for an indoor tennis shoe of the type mentioned in the front sole area of the smooth unprofiled outsole ("Eurosport" 1976 p. 1911). The chrome leather insert develops a controlled slidability to the desired extent, but this extent differs considerably on the above-mentioned floors, so that with a satisfactory slip on one Soil type too slippery on another type of soil. This requires the tennis player who uses to play on different types of ground to adapt to the prevailing ground conditions, which is annoying and leads to poorer performance at least in the initial phase.

It is also already known an outsole profile for a sports shoe, in which a ring profile is provided in the inner ball area and an insert made of a sole rubber of predetermined hardness is embedded concentrically to the center of the ring profile (DE-OS 30 35 706). This is intended to achieve an adjustment of the necessary sliding properties in connection with the required slip resistance, especially when used on wooden floors. However, rubber material as a sliding insert is relatively non-slip on other than wooden floors, in particular on floors of the type mentioned above, so that this proposal does not expect sufficient sliding ability and therefore a corresponding protection of the musculoskeletal system of the tennis player.

Finally, an indoor tennis shoe is also known in which, in order to achieve a controlled slip ability, plastic fibers made of polyamide, which are aligned essentially parallel to the tread, are embedded in the synthetic outsole. In the inner bale area, which is to form a rotating spot, there is an accumulation of such fibers (DE-OS 30 24 587). A disadvantage of this known solution is that it is difficult to arrange plastic fibers evenly and in the outsole in the same way for each pair of shoes produced in such a way that a certain amount of slippage can be reproducibly generated.

The invention has for its object to provide an outsole of the type described above, the gliding ability of which is approximately the same on the artificial floors mentioned, the insert forming the sliding zone being easier to integrate into the outsole.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the insert consists of a plastic which is harder than the sole material.

The smooth, non-profiled outsole, which in itself has less grip than a profiled outsole, provides the necessary slip resistance due to the particular flexibility of the sole material, which has a Shore hardness of around 65, for example. The plastic insert forming the sliding zone, on the other hand, consists of a harder plastic material, e.g. Made of a polyurethane or polyamide plate, with a hardness of 75 Shore, for example. It has been shown that this harder plastic material has an approximately constant coefficient of friction with the above-mentioned synthetic floors, so that an approximately constant slipping effect can also be expected accordingly. The plate-shaped plastic insert can be easily connected to the outsole material and used so that it lies in one plane and flush with the running side of the sole.

According to an advantageous development of the invention, the insert has an edge region which is flush with the running side of the sole and one opposite the running side of the sole taken back inside. This inner area is set back or raised by about 0.5 to 1 mm compared to the edge area, so that it rests on the floor under load with less pressure than the rest of the running side. This interior area therefore forms the intended sliding zone to a particular extent, which is particularly effective when the rest of the running side of the sole is subjected to greater loads due to support on the sliding leg.

It has proven to be advantageous to lightly flute or grain the edge area of the insert. In addition, it is expedient to attach an insert to both the front sole and the rear sole and to adapt these inserts to the outline of the sole in a manner known per se, so that the part of the running side remaining between the edge of the sole and the edge of the insert is approximately the same width is.

An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The drawings show:
  • Fig. 1 is an oblique view from below of a tennis shoe with an outsole according to the invention, and
  • FIG. 2 shows a section through the use of the front sole along the line II-II in FIG. 1.

The indoor tennis shoe shown in FIG. 1 has a shell sole 1 made of foamed polyurethane, the shell edge 2 of which extends in a known manner about 2 to 3 cm above the shaft side and with the shaft in is connected in any way, for example by direct molding or also by gluing. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the sole material of the outsole 1 has a Shore hardness of 65. With the exception of the inserts discussed below, the running side 3 of the outsole 1 is smooth and unprofiled from front to back.

An insert 4 or 5 made of polyamide is inserted in the front and rear sole so that the running side of the inserts 4, 5 is flush, i.e. lies in one plane with the running side 3 of the outsole 1. The outline of the inserts 4, 5 is chosen so that the outline approximates the shape of the sole edge of the outsole 1, for which reference is made to the drawing.

Both inserts 4, 5 have a closed edge area 4a or 5a, which is flush with the running side 3 and has a slight corrugation or grain which gives the edge area a certain roughness. The edge region 4a or 5a encloses an inner region 4b or 5b which - as can be seen in FIG. 2 - is set back by approximately 0.5 mm and has a smooth surface. A light bulge 6 can be formed at the transition from the corrugated or grained edge area 4a to the smooth inner area 4b. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the material of the inserts 4 and 5 forming the sliding zones has a Shore hardness of approximately 75 and is therefore harder than that of the outsole 1.

In a departure from the exemplary embodiment described above, the inner arch 4b or 5b of the inserts 4 and 5 can be withdrawn by up to 3.5 mm with respect to the edge region 4a or 5a. A higher Shore hardness of the inserts 4, 5 up to 90 Shore can also be selected.
