Claims (10)

1. A photographic transparency cutting and framing apparatus for automatically introducing a photographic transparency film portion into a two-part photographic transparency frame (R) which can be pivoted open, comprising a housing (10) with a film platform (1.1) on its top side for guided longitudinal displacement of a film strip, a drive means (2.5) for the forward feed movement of the film strip, a cutting means (2.1, 2.3) at the edge of the film platform, the cutting means comprising a blade bar and a moved severing blade, and a trough (4) with a bottom (4.1) which is inclined obliguely downwardly relative to the plane of the film platform, for insertion and removal of a photographic transparency frame in the forward feed direction, characterised in that the trough (4) has guide grooves which are of a size depending on the thickness of the photographic transparency frame, at both side walls (4.2) of the trough, more specifically on the one hand substantially centrally a respective first guide groove (4.8) for the frame bottom portion (Ru) and above same a shallow wedge-shaped deflection portion (4.3) for the frame top portion (Ro) which is pivotally connected to the frame bottom portion, upon insertion of the frame, and on the other hand at the upper edge of its bottom (4.1) a respective second guide groove (4.9) upon removal of the frame.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that the wedge-shaped deflection portions (4.3), with the bottom (4.1), form the first guide grooves (4.8).
3. Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that shallow ribs (4.3) at both side walls, with the bottom (4.1), form the second guide grooves (4.9).
4. Apparatus according to claim 3 characterised in that the ribs (4.1) can be lowered resiliently downwardly into the bottom (4.1) in openings (4.6) in the side walls (4.2).
5. Apparatus according to claim 4 characterised in that the two ribs (4.4) are arranged on a resilient U-shaped member (4.5) which is mounted beneath the bottom.

Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that arranged in the trough (4) in the forward feed direction downstream of the cutting means (2.1, 2.3) and upstream of the wedge-shaped deflection portions (4.3) above the plane of the film platform (1.1) is an auxiliary drive (2.4, 2.5), the drive rollers (2.5) of which extend beneath said plane to closely above the bottom (4.1) of the trough.

Apparatus according to claim 6 characterised in that the drive rollers are non-rotatably arranged, in association with the regions of the film edge strips, on a shaft (2.4) which is mounted in the housing side walls (4.2) and which is driven by the drive means (2.6) by way of a crossed endless drive (2.7).
8. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that a retaining projection (2.9) for the edge of the frame bottom portion (Ru) is formed at the underside of the blade bar (2.1) or the blade support (2.8) carrying same.
9. Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that the angle of inclination of the trough bottom (4.1) is 10 to 15°.
10. A two-part photographic transparency frame which can be pivoted open, for the photographic transparency cutting and framing apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the frame top portion (Ro) is subdivided by film hinges (S) disposed at the longitudinal sides of the frame opening, into a smaller part (R') fixedly connected to the frame bottom portion (Ru) and a larger part (R") which can be pivoted open.
