Description

The innovation relates to a propellant charge container according to the preamble of protection claim 1.

Propellant containers are used to hold the propellant powder and are used in particular in artillery weapons, in which the projectile and propellant charge are loaded into the barrel separately.

Conventional propellant charge containers, which are known, for example, from the Rheinmetall weapons technical paperback, 5th edition 1980, page 516, were used at most for the transport of propellant powder portioned into different loads, which must be removed from the transport container before the loading process.

From FR-A-1396901 a propellant charge container according to the preamble of claim 1 is known, which essentially consists of a sleeve and a base piece firmly screwed to the sleeve. The propellant charge is located in the sleeve and is traversed in the longitudinal direction by an ignition channel and is designed as an empty ignition chamber. A fire charge is arranged in the base piece.

From US-A-2977015 a closure device for bottles is known, in which the upper bottle closure, as well as the lid closure located above, have openings which can be rotated relative to one another.

From US-A-3120185 it is known to provide the end face of propellant charge containers with a central recess. A recess arranged at the wing-side end of the projectile then engages in this recess in a form-fitting manner.

The innovation is based on the object of specifying a novel, combustible propellant charge container which, on the one hand, simplifies the charging process and, moreover, is particularly advantageous to be labored.

This object is achieved by the invention specified in protection claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims. The new propellant charge container enables considerable savings in logistics, since an additional container for transport purposes can be saved. The special design of the propellant charge container also opens up the possibility of automating the loading process, as a result of which the firing sequence can be increased. Finally, the new propellant charge container enables savings in laboratory work, since filling and closing the propellant charge container does not require complex work steps or special tools.

Dabei zeigt :

  • Fig. 1 : in perspektivischer Darstellung ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel des neuartigen Treibladungsbehälters ;
  • Fig. 2: ein weiteres Ausführungsbeispiel des Treibladungsbehälters.
The innovation is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. It shows:
  • Fig. 1: a perspective view of a first embodiment of the novel propellant charge container;
  • Fig. 2: another embodiment of the propellant charge container.

The propellant charge container 10 is essentially of circular cylindrical shape and consists of several, in particular two, parts 11, 12 which are arranged such that they can be rotated relative to one another. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the propellant charge container consists of two hollow cylinders which are closed on one side and have a slightly different outer diameter, which are pushed over one another with their open end faces and are secured in this position after being pushed together, for example by one or more annular beads. In the area of the overlapping cylinder jacket surfaces, a recess 13, 13 'is arranged in each of the propellant charge container parts. These recesses 13, 13 ', which have a circular shape, for example, can be shifted at will by rotating the propellant container parts in the circumferential direction so that they are either aligned one above the other and thereby form a filling opening for the propellant powder to be introduced, or that they are not in alignment with one another and so the openings close. Apart from a twisting of the propellant container parts, no further operation is necessary to close the propellant container: This also simplifies and reduces the labor costs.

The propellant charge container 10 consists of a combustible material which is known per se from cartridge ammunition with combustible casings.

A bead 14 is arranged both in the bottom and in the lid of the propellant charge container 10, which allows play-free radial and axial fixing of firing charges during the charging process.

In a further exemplary embodiment of the invention (FIG. 2), a second cover 22, which also has an opening 21, is placed on an essentially all-round propellant charge container 10, which only has an opening 20 on the cover side, and can be rotated in the circumferential direction.

By simply twisting the openings 20, 21 are brought to coincide in order to be able to fill the propellant charge container 10 or twisted against one another in order to close the individual opening.

Due to their compact construction and identical external dimensions, the propellant charge containers 10 are particularly well suited to automate the loading process, which increases the performance of the weapon, i. H. can achieve a higher cadence.
