Description

The invention relates to a locking system for a pivoting panel such as a shutter or a door; it more particularly relates to such a system designed for a simpler implementation than in the past, to improve the maintenance of said panel and to avoid any possibility of flapping in the wind.

Known from patent document FR-2 496 744, a locking system for immobilizing a pivoting panel, for example a flap, in the open position along a wall, essentially composed of a flexible tongue, fixed to the wall, projecting from it and placed in the vicinity of the pivoting path of an edge of the panel, this tab being provided with a suitable retaining means. The retaining means is, most often, a simple hole made in the tongue and in which is housed the head of a screw fixed to the field of the panel. Such a device constitutes an undeniable progress compared to the classic tab pivotally mounted at the end of an axis sealed to the wall, but the necessary clearance between the screw head and the edge of the hole in the tongue leaves the panel with the possibility of '' oscillate slightly under the effect of the wind, which can be the source of annoying noises. In addition, the fixing of the screw on the field of the panel requires a certain precision and the holding of this screw can cause problems according to the nature or the state of the panel (plastic or slightly rotten wooden shutter, for example) . Furthermore, US Pat. No. 2,590,423 describes a blocking system of the type according to the preamble of claim 1 avoiding wind noise. This system includes a rear spring so that the panel is always immobilized without play. However, such a system is technically complicated and costly due to the variety and nature of the parts to be manufactured and stored. The object of the invention is to eliminate these drawbacks. This object is achieved by providing a blocking system according to the preamble of claim 1, characterized in that the rear spring constitutes with the tongue a single piece of flexible plastic material, in that said spring comprises a flexible inclined part and an end. curved intended to come into contact with said panel, in that said flexible tongue comprises a part that is substantially U-shaped with a base and two branches, in that one of the branches constitutes said shoulder, in that the other branch forming part for fixing to said wall has a fixing hole, in that the base is wider than the thickness of said panel for which said panel is intended and in that said spring in the form of a flexible blade extends said other branch.

By the particular claimed structure of the elastic means for holding and using the flexible plastic material, it is possible, by the form in a single piece to achieve the same functions by simple manufacturing means further allowing great ease of storage and placement.

We can also consider the manufacture of such a system in very large series with only a small number of models of different dimensions to cover the whole range of possible thicknesses of shutters, shutters, doors, windows, etc.

More specifically, the flexible tongue has a substantially U-shaped portion, a vertical branch of which constitutes said shoulder. The base of the U-shaped portion is wider than the thickness of the panel for which said system is intended and the spring takes place above this base. According to a preferred embodiment, the spring is a leaf spring located in the extension of the other vertical branch of the substantially U-shaped part, so that the leaf spring and the tongue form a single piece made of flexible plastic.

The invention will be better understood and other advantages thereof will appear better on reading the description which follows of a possible embodiment of a system in accordance with its principle, given solely by way of example and made with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which:
  • - The figure is a side view of a currently preferred embodiment of a locking system according to the invention, the panel being shown immobilized in said system.

Referring more particularly to FIG. 1, there is shown the lower part of a flap 11 mounted to pivot vertically relative to a wall 12. The path of the edge 11a of this flap therefore takes place in a horizontal plane 13. For immobilize the flap in the open position, parallel to the wall 12, there is provided, according to the invention, a locking system essentially composed of a flexible tongue 14 shaped to present means for retaining the flap 11 and a spring rear 17. The tongue is made of flexible plastic, it has a constant width in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. It is fixed to the wall 12 by any suitable means, such as for example a screw 15, so as to project relative to said wall, in the vicinity of the pivoting path of the edge 11 a, in the plane 13. The aforementioned retaining means are essentially defined by a shoulder 16 of the tongue, substantially perpendicular to the general direction thereof, and by the rear spring 17. In the example of FIG. 1, this spring is a leaf spring forming a single piece with the tongue. It comprises a flexible inclined part 18 projecting from the wall 12 and a curved end 19 intended to come into contact with the flap 11. The inclined part 18 extends a fixing part 20, common to the lanquette and to the leaf spring . This fixing part 20 has an oblong hole 21 for fixing the assembly to the wall 12 and its vertical adjustment.

The tongue 14 has a substantially U-shaped part, the vertical branch furthest from the wall constitutes the abovementioned shoulder 16, while the other vertical branch is the fixing part 20. The base 22 of this shaped part of U is wider than the thickness of the panel for which the system is intended, that is to say here the thickness of the flap 11. When mounting, it suffices to ensure that the upper part of the shoulder 16 is located above the plane 13, so that the flap can be immobilized between said shoulder and the leaf spring 17, without the possibility of flapping in the wind and this for flaps of very different thicknesses. Indeed, depending on the thickness of the flap, the spring 17 straightens more or less but remains in contact with the flap 11, and its force increases with the width of the flap.

A partir de ce moment, la languette reprend sa position et le volet est immobilisé entre l'épaulement 16 et le ressort 17.On the other hand, in a manner known per se, the free end portion 23 of the tongue 14, beyond the shoulder 16, is curved so as to form an acute angle with it. Thus, the flap 11 meets this curved portion 23 at the end of its travel and causes the tongue 14 to flex (shown in broken lines in this position in FIG. 1), until the lower end of the flap 11 exceeds the shoulder 16. From this moment, the tongue returns to its position and the flap is immobilized between the shoulder 16 and the spring 17.
