Description

The invention relates to a node part, preferably for model construction, with two identical, cylindrical or prismatic structures, which in turn are each composed of two similar, approximately disc-shaped halves of the structure, with each structure half and thus each structure having a recess extending from the central axis to the edge has, the width of which is adapted to the height of the structure, with two structures being inserted crosswise into one another by means of these cutouts and together forming a node part with four ribs, each offset by 90 ° to one another and projecting radially outwards, each of which is provided with essentially radially directed recesses , each of which partly lies in one and partly in the other half of the structure and which are designed for the releasable fastening of the free end of at least one component.

Solche Knotenpunktteile zeigt z. B. die DE-C-876 977, die DE-C-901 955, oder die DE-A-2 905 638.Such node parts can e.g. B. find use in scaffolding or model construction and generally have about the shape of a ball, in the radial recesses for screwing or other fastenings of scaffolding rods or of any component arranged threaded pin or the like are incorporated. Such node parts shows e.g. B. DE-C-876 977, DE-C-901 955, or DE-A-2 905 638.

Furthermore, DE-U-1 781 362 shows a node part for toy construction kits. This node part has two identical cylindrical structures, which in turn are composed of two identical, disc-shaped halves of the structure, each structure having a recess extending from the central axis to the edge, the width of which is adapted to the height of the structure and two structures by means of these recesses to form the node part can be inserted crosswise. This creates a node part with four radial ribs, and each of these ribs has radial recesses for releasably fastening a rod end. The rod end is inserted into such an opening and held there by friction. Alternatively, the radial recesses can be provided with threads into which corresponding threads are screwed at the rod ends.

A connection based on friction is unreliable. A connection by means of threads cannot be carried out if a complex framework is to be built up using such node parts, e.g. B. a complicated model of a molecule.

The object of the present invention is therefore to create a node part which, with a simple construction and low weight, enables simple but secure fastening of the free ends of components.

This object is achieved according to the invention in the case of a node part mentioned at the outset in that a first constriction, which is essentially complementary to a corresponding constriction of the component and which has a constriction towards the free end, is incorporated in the radially directed recesses at a distance from the associated outside of the relevant structure of the component is limited to the outside of the complementary cavity. Due to the constriction and the cavity adjoining it to the inside, an end of the structure which is complementary to it is easily attached. This attachment is secure and stable, and it can be easily removed if necessary, which makes it easier to build stable models.

It is particularly advantageous to proceed in such a way that a cavity in the form of a spherical section which is complementary to a spherical pin at the free end of the component is provided in the recesses on the side of the first constriction facing away from the outside of the node part. The assembly is facilitated in that the first constrictions widen conically towards the outside of the node part.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the structures have a hexagonal or octagonal cross section, the mutually adjacent, essentially radially directed recesses enclosing an angle of 60 ° or 45 ° with one another.

If the node part according to the invention is used for model construction or also for toy boxes or the like, the loads occurring here are only relatively small, which makes it possible to manufacture the structures according to the invention each from an elastic material, in particular from plastic.

In order to center the two halves of a structure securely relative to one another and also to secure them against rotation relative to one another, in a further embodiment of the invention cylindrical recesses are formed in the adjoining sides of the two halves of the structure, the longitudinal axes of which are relative to the longitudinal axes of the radial recesses or Channels are directed vertically and fully engage in the pegs or the like formed on the opposite side of the other half of the structure.

If these two plastic halves of the structure are to be connected to one another, for example by ultrasonic welding, then it is expedient if ribs, feet, pins or the like are formed on at least one of the two mutually opposite sides of the two structure halves, as a result of which the cross section of contact between the two structure halves is considerable reduced and thus the effect of ultrasound is significantly increased.

By means of such a plastic node part, components of any design and also rods can be connected to one another. These components and rods each have a spigot engaging in a radial recesses located in the node part concerned, at least then this spigot also made of an elastic material, for. B. made of plastic.

The node part 1 is composed of the two structures 3 and 4 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, each of which has the shape of an octagonal prism. In each structure 3, 4 four bores or channels 6 are machined, each enclosing an angle of alpha = 45 °, to the outer side faces 5, that is to say the end faces of the prisms, this structure running parallel. In addition, each structure 3, 4 has a rectangular recess, designated 7, which extends from its outer edge 9 to its central axis 8. The width b of this recess 7 is equal to the height h of each of the two structures 3 and 4. This makes it possible to insert the two structures 3 and 4 in the direction of the two arrows 10 and 11 so that the one in FIG Node part 1 shown with its four radially outwardly projecting ribs 12, which are each offset by 90 ° to one another, is suitable as a node part for a spatial grid.

As can further be seen from FIGS. 1 and 3, but in particular from FIGS. 4 and 5, each of the two structures 3, 4 again consists of two halves of the structure designated by 13 and 14, the mutually opposite inner sides 15 and 16 of each other fit and glued or welded together, for example by ultrasonic welding.

18 wie dargestellt einen halbkugelförmigen Hohlraum 21 bildet.FIG. 6 shows a view of one half of the structure 13, viewed in the direction of arrow A in FIG. 5. Here, seven channels 17, 17, are formed in the inside 15 of this half of the structure, each offset by the angle alpha = 45 ° to one another . So that these channels 17 each form a channel similar to the bore or channel 6 with the counter channels 18 located in the opposite inner side 16 of the other half 14 of the structure, the cross section of these channels 17, 18 is each semicircular. These channels 17, 18 meet in the central axis 8 and each run out into an opening denoted by 19, which widens outwards like a cone. At a distance a (FIG. 6) from the edge 9 of these structural halves 13 and 14, an annular groove designated 20 is formed in each of the channels 17 and 18, which together with the channel 17 and 18, as shown, forms a hemispherical cavity 21 forms.

As shown in FIG. 5, cylindrical recesses 22 are machined between these channels 17 and 18 in the inner side 15 of the body half 13, into which protrusions 23 of the same dimensions formed on the opposite inner side 16 of the other body half 14 project. Likewise, cylindrical recesses 24 are also machined in the inside 16 of the other half of the structure 14 and associated with pins 25 formed on the inside 15 of the half of the structure 13. These pins 23, 25 serve to connect and correctly position the two halves of the structure 13, 14.

In order to weld these two structural halves 13, 14 made of plastic, if necessary by means of ultrasound, as shown in FIG. 6, feet 26, which are only shown in broken lines, are formed on the inner sides 15 and 16 of these structural halves 13, 14, respectively, which protrude towards the inside 16 and 15 of the other half of the structure 14 and 13 protrude and when connecting these two halves of the structure 13 and 14 rest on the opposite inner side. These feet 26 bring about the reduction of the contact cross-section required for an ultrasound connection, as a result of which a secure connection between the two structural halves 13 and 14 is ensured.

When assembling the node part 1 shown in Fig. 1, the plastic halves 13 and 14 are placed against each other with their inner sides 15 and 16, the cylindrical pins 23 and 25 engaging in the opposite cylindrical recesses 22 and 24 and so the Secure both halves of the structure 13 and 14 against rotation. Thereafter, the two halves of the structure 13, 14 are intensively glued, welded or otherwise connected, whereby the structures 3, 4 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 are formed. These two structures 3 and 4 are then inserted into one another in the manner already mentioned in the direction of arrows 10 and 11 and, if appropriate, glued or otherwise connected, as a result of which the node part 1 is formed.

This node part 1 is used to connect the rods denoted by 2, the rod ends 27 of which each have in their axial extension a pin 28 which is to be inserted in the axial direction into one of the radial recesses 6 located in the node part 1. 4 and 6 in particular, the pins 28 each run out into spherical ends 29, the diameter D (FIG. 6) of which is greater than the diameter d of the bores or channels 6. When these pin ends 29 are inserted into the associated ones radial recesses 6 must therefore dodge the elastic plastic material of the annular mouth region 30 in order to allow the passage of the spherical pin end 29. If this pin end 29 has entered the spherical cavity 21 of the radial recess 6 in question, the annular region 30 returns to its original shape and encloses the neck of the pin 28, designated 31, such that the spherical pin end 29 no longer comes out of the bore 6 can solve. But this ensures a secure fit of the pin end 29, the rod end 27 and thus also the entire rod 2.

If the rod 2 is to be detached again from the node part 1, a corresponding pull is to be exerted on it so that the spherical pin end 29 now slips out of the radial recess 6 again, the annular region 30 again undergoing elastic deformation and passing through the spherical one Pin end 29 allows.

If the node part 1 described in detail above is made of plastic, it is very light and elastic, which opens up the special possibility of using it both in model construction and in toys of various kinds, but in particular in toy building sets.
