Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an ice warning device according to the preamble of the main claim.
Ice warning devices are a useful tool not only in road traffic, but also on sidewalks, house stairs or the like, in order to be informed about existing ice hazards in the event of temperature changes.
Such an ice warning device is described in DE-OS 29 40 205, which is equipped with a temperature sensor which works on the basis of liquid crystals or temperature-indicating color pigments. Such a device is intended to make the device independent of third-party installations, such as power supply lines or the like. The known device thus does not differ from conventional temperature indicators that work with mercury or ALCOHOL, and just like these devices, it is extremely difficult to make the values determined by the temperature sensor visible, particularly in fast road traffic.
The invention has for its object to provide an ice warning device that is also independent of third-party installations, but creates an effective display such that even in fast road traffic or for visually impaired older people, the risk of ice is immediately recognizable.
The invention solves this underlying problem with the features of the characterizing part of the main claim.
The invention makes use of the solar cells which are known per se and are already being used to a large extent today and which, accommodated in corresponding devices, are independent of third-party installations, such as power supply lines, etc.
Since solar cells alone are not able to display temperature values, the invention works with a temperature sensor which is live depending on the desired heat value to be displayed, for example + 2 to -2 ° C. The power line of the solar cell connects to this temperature sensor, so that the temperature sensor blocks the current flow at values above + 2 ° C. At temperatures that approach freezing, for example from + 2 ° C and colder, this temperature sensor becomes current-conducting and now transmits the current supplied by the solar cell to a capacitor that can discharge in pulses. A display part is connected to the capacitor, which converts the current pulses supplied by the capacitor, for example, into flashes of light. The size, sequence of flashes and flash intensity can vary depending on the size of the SoLarzeLLe and the Capacitor and the display part can be chosen arbitrarily.
The display part can also be designed as an LCD component or mechanically, e.g. work through an aperture adjustment. An accumulator can also be switched on in the device.
Tests have shown that the SoLarzeLLe is also able to generate flashes in the display section via the capacitor if the solar cell is only touched by the headlights of passing motor vehicles or is reached by the exterior lighting on house stairs etc. The device according to the invention can thus also be used at night. The effectiveness of the accumulator can be increased.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing.
The drawing shows the structure of the device according to the invention purely schematically.
In the drawing, 1 denotes a temperature sensor, which, for example, enables the largest possible and thus sensitive scanning of the temperature prevailing in the area of the street surface or the surface of the stairs via a relatively
The temperature sensor is designed such that it only delivers the electrical energy supplied by the
A line 9 leads from the
