Description

The invention relates to a wooden window provided with an outside cladding made of light metal, in particular aluminum, in which the light metal profiles forming the cladding are kept at a distance from the wooden parts of the window sash or window frame by spacers which are connected to the wooden parts of the window sash or window frame connected by connecting parts, in particular screwed.

As is known, wooden windows require painting at least on the outside at certain time intervals in order to be able to withstand the weather. Windows made of light metal, especially aluminum, do not have this disadvantage, but form a cold bridge from the outside in with the metal parts, which can only be prevented by additional, mostly cost-intensive measures. In addition, for aesthetic reasons, it is often desired to have the warm wood inside. Windows have therefore already been proposed in which wooden parts located on the inside are provided on the outside with a cladding made of light metal. However, it has been found that this is not easily possible. A known construction provides for the light metal profiles to snap onto the wooden parts. The disadvantage of this is, on the one hand, that the light metal profiles lie directly on the wooden parts so that the wood cannot breathe, and, on the other hand, that the light metal profiles lose their hold if the wood shrinks over time. In another known construction, corner-connected aluminum frames are screwed onto the wooden parts by means of plastic connectors. Hiebei is disadvantageous that the wooden parts have to be produced specifically for this system and that the production of the aluminum profiles with frame connections causes additional costs both from the production side and from the assembly side. There is also the disadvantage that the sides of the wooden parts facing the aluminum profiles are not sufficiently ventilated. In other known constructions there is again the disadvantage that the different thermal expansions of the light metal and the wood lead to stresses in the frame or in the sash of the window, which can lead to leaks and malfunctions. When the metal mounting brackets are screwed onto the wooden parts and the light metal parts are snapped onto them, these thermal expansions lead to scratching noises from the metal parts rubbing against each other. This also applies to a construction according to BE-A 681 967, in which elastic metal clips screwed onto the wooden parts press the cladding profiles onto the wooden parts. In addition, with the latter construction, the cladding profiles rest on the wooden parts, so that the latter are poorly ventilated.

It is also known (BE-A 703 014) to keep the light metal profiles at the front of the wooden parts at a distance from them by means of spacers and to screw them onto the side surfaces of the wooden parts. At the corners of the window sash two light metal profiles are arranged to overlap each other. An elastic adhesive is used to glue the light metal profiles and the spacers. The overlap of the light metal parts on the wing corners is disadvantageous with regard to the penetration of dust and water, which is further increased by the elasticity of the adhesive connection.

The invention has for its object to avoid these disadvantages and to improve a window of the type described in such a way that it can be easily manufactured with little effort and that the light metal profiles are firmly and permanently connected to the wooden parts without impeding their breathing, taking into account the different thermal expansion behavior of the light metal in relation to the wood. Another goal is to achieve a rigid corner connection of the light metal profile frame. The invention solves this problem in that the spacers are rigidly glued to the light metal profiles and are connected by means of the connecting parts to the wooden parts of the window sash or window frame with play at least in the longitudinal direction of the light metal profiles, and in that in the corners of the window sash or window frame arranged spacers are glued to the two parts of the light metal profiles butted in the corner area such that the spacers form a rigid corner connection of the light metal profiles with their gluing. The spacers hiebei secure a cavity between the wooden parts and the light metal profiles placed on them in a known manner, so that proper ventilation of the wooden parts remains guaranteed even on the side facing the light metal profiles, so that the wood cannot suffocate. Despite a permanent connection between the light metal profiles and the wooden parts, which prevents loosening, the different expansion behavior of the light metal profiles and the wooden parts is taken into account by the play, which exists for fastening the spacers at least in the longitudinal direction of the profiles. Even if there are shifts in the light metal profiles in relation to the wooden parts due to the different thermal expansions, these shifts can take place in that the spacers rigidly bonded to the light metal profiles can shift by the necessary amount along the wooden parts as a result of the aforementioned play of the connecting parts, without the connection becoming loose. This also applies if the wooden parts lose their dimensional accuracy due to shrinkage. Despite these advantages, the invention is Construction according to the invention is simple to manufacture and assemble and therefore very cost-effective, because the assembly of the light-metal profiles which have been cut to size at the window corners, in particular mitred, is simplified and made cheaper by the spacers which are glued to one another. At the same time, the spacers at the corners of the window provide a seal for the light metal profiles in the corner area against the ingress of dust and moisture.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the spacers are formed from flat light metal plates, in particular from aluminum. Flat light metal plates can be made from waste products, e.g. B. when cutting the light metal profiles.

According to the invention, the connecting parts are preferably formed by screws which penetrate elongated holes in the spacers located in the longitudinal direction of the profiles. The smallest distance between two opposite hole edges is larger than the shank diameter of the screws, but smaller than the head diameter of the screws. As a result, the aforementioned game, which allows the relative displacement of the light metal profiles in relation to the wooden parts, is achieved with little effort and conventional components. In order to avoid that the bonding of the spacers with the light metal profiles has an effect in an adhesive bonding of the screws with the spacers and thus nullifies the above-mentioned game, the screw heads are covered with respect to the adhesive used for bonding the spacers with the light metal profiles.

During assembly, it is advantageous if inserts, in particular foam strips, are arranged between the spacers on both sides, the thickness of which is equal to the thickness of the spacers. These double-sided adhesive inserts hold the light metal profiles to the wooden parts during assembly as soon as they have been pressed on. The window can therefore immediately go to further processing without having to wait for the adhesive (generally metal adhesive) used to glue the spacers to the light metal profiles.

In order to achieve a seal against moisture and dust on the longitudinal edges of the light metal profiles, these longitudinal edges are glued to the wooden parts by means of an elastic adhesive, in particular a silicone adhesive. This does not hinder the different thermal expansion mentioned.

To improve the ventilation of the cavity, which is formed by the distance between the light metal profiles and the wooden parts, holes are provided in the light metal profiles, in particular on their undersides, according to a development of the invention.

In the drawing, the invention is shown schematically using an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows a vertical section through the window and Fig. 2 shows a corner of the window frame in an axonometric view and on a larger scale.

In the building opening 1, the window frame 2 is inserted, which interacts with at least one window sash 3. In the window sash 3, double glazing 4 is used in a conventional manner. On the wooden parts 5 and 6 of the window frame 2 and the window sash 3 are made of aluminum light metal profiles 7 and 8, z. B. folded aluminum sheets or extruded profiles. These light metal profiles, the profile of which broadly follows the profile of the outside of the associated wooden part 5 or 6, are not placed directly on the wooden parts 5, 6, but with the interposition of spacers 9, in particular flat aluminum plates attached to the wooden parts 5, 6. 6 of the window frame 2 or the window sash 3 are fastened at intervals from one another by means of screws 10. These spacers 9 are provided at the corners of the window frame 2 or the window sash 3, in particular in a triangular shape, furthermore in the form of rectangular plates at intervals of approximately 50 cm. As a result, the light metal profiles 7 and 8 are at a distance from the wooden parts 5, 6, whereby a cavity 11 and 12 is formed in each case. Before the light metal profiles 7, 8 are placed, self-adhesive inserts 13 are glued to the wooden parts 5, 6 between the spacers 9, in particular self-adhesive foam sheets which have the same thickness as the plate-shaped spacers 9 5, 6 layers 14 made of an elastic adhesive, in particular a silicone adhesive, and a thin layer 15 made of a metal adhesive on the spacers 9, the heads of the screws 10 being covered beforehand so that this metal adhesive does not connect the spacers 9 to the screws 10 can. Then the loose light metal profiles 7 and 8, which are cut at their ends with miter 30, are pressed against the wooden parts 5, 6 of the window frame 2 and the window sash 3. Hiebei the two-sided self-adhesive inserts 13 immediately hold, so that the wooden parts 5, 6 are sufficiently firmly connected to the light metal profiles 7, 8 to enable immediate further work at the window. The light metal profiles can therefore be attached individually or element by element to the wooden parts and it is not necessary to assemble the light metal profiles into a fixed frame before connecting them to the wooden parts. After about a day, the layer 15 of the metal adhesive hardens and thus represents a compact connection between the light metal frame and the wooden frame. However, the light metal frame can work independently of the wooden frame since there is play between the spacers 9 and the screws 10, that the holes 16 of the spacers 9, through which the screws 10 are inserted, at least in the The longitudinal direction of the profiles 7, 8 are larger than the shank diameter of the screws 10, but smaller in the transverse direction of the profile longitudinal direction than the head diameter of these screws. Through such elongated holes, different thermal expansions in the longitudinal direction of the light metal profiles 7 and 8 and the wooden parts 5 and 6 are taken into account, which relative expansion is maintained by the elasticity of the silicone adhesive layer 14.

The spacers 9 in the corners of the window frame 2 or the window sash 3 also represent a rigid corner connection of the light metal profile frame after the metal adhesive layer 15 has hardened.

The cavities 11 and 12 ensure rear ventilation of the wood lying behind the cladding formed by the light metal profiles. In order to achieve a circulation of air in these cavities 11, 12, holes 17 and 18 are provided in the light metal profiles 7 and 8 above or below. For the upper sections of the window frame 2 or the window sash 3, the holes 17 are expediently at the top, for the lower sections, however, the holes 18 are arranged at the bottom in order to protect these holes 17 and 18 as far as possible against the entry of driving rain.

The profile of the window sash 3 expediently has a water nose 19, from which dripping water always reaches the cladding of the window frame 2 formed by the light metal profile 7. The profile of the window sash 3 is covered on the outside by a rubber seal 22 inserted into a groove 21 of the wooden part 6, so that no water can penetrate. A second rubber seal 23 is inserted in a groove 24 of the wooden part 6 further inside. The two rubber seals 22, 23 ensure the tightness of the window.

The external appearance or the visual impression of the window corresponds more to a wooden window, because the window sash 3 with respect to the window frame 2 back, i. H. is offset towards the inside and does not lie flush as with conventional wood-aluminum windows. As a result of the processing technology described, the window shown is much cheaper to produce than conventional wood-aluminum windows.

Any water that has passed behind the light metal profile 7 of the window frame 2 is collected by a strip 25 and passed through a channel 26 into the cavity 11, from where it can flow down through the holes 18.
