Description

The subject of the present invention is a method of manufacturing and filling receptacles made of flexible or semi-rigid material, of structure for example symmetrical with respect to a central axis and with an elongated neck, intended to receive liquid, pasty or pulverulent products such as cleaning products, chemicals, etc., as well as the containers obtained by this process.

In general, the invention is applicable to the manufacture of symmetrical or non-symmetrical containers, made up of two half-shells assembled along parallel edges.

The flexible material bottles usually used for various types of liquids such as the aforementioned liquids, generally have a bottle shape, and are produced on chains from two plastic sheets, in which complementary half-shells are molded which are then assembled along their longitudinal junction plane by welding. These bottles placed vertically, the neck down, are filled by the bottom, which is then closed by welding.

Cet état de la technique est montré par le document US-A-3 782 066.The half-shells are molded parallel to one another, the filling taking place between two upper edges, parallel and contiguous which are then welded so that the corresponding containers obtained are also parallel to each other. But when these containers have a neck of appreciable length relative to their body, this parallel arrangement of the half-shells results in a considerable loss of material, since the material of the sheets situated between the successive necks is unused, which increases the price very significantly of the bottles thus obtained. This state of the art is shown in document US-A-3,782,066.

The object of the invention is to propose a manufacturing and filling process which minimizes the loss of material in the sheets, and consequently reduces the cost price of the containers.

According to the invention, the half-shells are molded on each sheet or head-to-tail half-sheet with respect to each other so as to nest them two by two.

According to one embodiment applied to the manufacture of containers symmetrical with respect to an axis, at least two rectilinear sections in broken lines, of such shape, are produced on each lateral edge of the half-shell, located between the neck and the bottom. so that each rectilinear section of an edge of a half-shell is parallel to one of the rectilinear sections of the opposite edge of this same half-shell, and at the same time offset with respect to this other section along the general axis of the half-shell and consequently of the container, and the head-to-tail half-shells are formed on each sheet with respect to each other with their axes of symmetry parallel to each other.

The container is filled by gravity, its median longitudinal plane being in the vertical position and one of the two rectilinear sections of each of the half-shells being located horizontally, at the upper part of its periphery.

The two half-shells of each container being assembled along their periphery by welding, a feature of the method according to the invention provides for leaving a gap between the two rectilinear upper horizontal sections facing each other, this which allows the container to be filled by this interval, after which these two sections are welded together in order to close the container.

It is understood that under these conditions, the loss of material is considerably reduced, since thanks to the head-to-tail arrangement of the half-shells, the distance between two contiguous necks is reduced to a minimum.

In the case where the production line is horizontal, that is to say that the sheets advance horizontally, the invention provides that the successive half-shells of each sheet are inclined on the horizontal axis of advancement and arranged at the head spade with respect to each other with alternating inclinations, one of the two rectilinear upper sections of each of the half-shells being located horizontally.

The container also targeted by the invention, made of flexible or semi-rigid material, comprises a body and an elongated neck formed by assembling the two complementary half-shells.

According to the invention, this container is characterized in that it comprises in its median longitudinal plane and on each side of the body, at least two rectilinear sections in broken lines, the sections on each side being arranged relative to those on the opposite side so that each rectilinear section on one side is parallel to one of the rectilinear sections on the opposite side and offset from this second section along the longitudinal axis of the container.

  • la Figure 1 est une vue en élévation longitudinale d'une feuille souple ou semi-rigide dans laquelle ont été formées des demi-coguillés conformément à l'invention, et qui est destinée à être assemblée à une feuille complémentaire, symétrique de celle-ci par rapport à leur plan de jonction ;
  • la Figure 2 est une vue en perspective de deux feuilles dans lesquelles sont formées des demi-coquilles complémentaires, avant assemblage et après assemblage, selon un second mode de réalisation du procédé visé par l'invention ;
  • la Figure 3 est une vue en élévation longitudinale d'une feuille dans laquelle ont été formées des demi-coquilles suivant un troisième mode de réalisation de l'invention ;
  • la Figure 4 est une vue en perspective de deux feuilles dans lesquelles ont été formées des demi-coquilles complémentaires, ces deux feuilles étant déroulées dans le sens vertical conformément à une autre forme de réalisation du procédé selon l'invention ;
Other particularities and advantages of the invention will appear during the description which follows, given with reference to the appended drawings which illustrate four embodiments thereof by way of nonlimiting examples:
  • Figure 1 is a longitudinal elevational view of a flexible or semi-rigid sheet in which have been formed half-coguilles according to the invention, and which is intended to be assembled to a complementary sheet, symmetrical thereof with respect to their junction plane;
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view of two sheets in which are formed complementary half-shells, before assembly and after assembly, according to a second mode of carrying out the process targeted by the invention;
  • Figure 3 is a longitudinal elevational view of a sheet in which half-shells have been formed according to a third embodiment of the invention;
  • Figure 4 is a perspective view of two sheets in which have been formed complementary half-shells, these two sheets being unwound in the vertical direction in accordance with another embodiment of the method according to the invention;
  • Figure 5 is a schematic view illustrating the more general application of the invention to the manufacture of containers assembled along parallel edges.

Referring to FIG. 1, we can see a sheet 1 made of a suitable flexible or semi-rigid material, such as a plastic material, arranged in a vertical plane and in which a succession of similar half-shells 2 are molded, intended to be assembled with other complementary half-shells formed in a second sheet, not shown.

Chaque demi-coquille 2 comporte un demi- goulot allongé 3, un corps 4 et un fond 5, la forme générale des demi-coquilles 2 pouvant être par exemple conforme à celle décrite dans la demande de brevet français n° 83 01 359 du 28 janvier 1983.Each half-shell 2 comprises an elongated half-neck 3, a body 4 and a bottom 5, the general shape of the half-shells 2 possibly being, for example, in accordance with that described in French patent application No. 83 01 359 of 28 January 1983.

According to the invention, on each lateral edge of each half-shell 2, located between the neck 3 and the bottom 5, two rectilinear sections (6a, 7a; 6b, 7b) are made in a broken line, so that each rectilinear section 6a, 7a of an edge of a half-shell 2 is parallel to one of the corresponding rectilinear sections 6b, 7b of the opposite edge of this same half-shell 2, and at the same time offset with respect to this other section along the general axis XX of the half-shell 2, and consequently of the container obtained by assembling two complementary half-shells 2 along their periphery.

Thus, it can be seen in the example of FIG. 1 that the upper rectilinear section 6a, adjacent to the upper edge of the sheet 1 which moves in the horizontal direction, is parallel to the lower section 6b and offset longitudinally with respect to it. ci, that is to say both along the axis XX and in the general direction F of advancement of the sheet.

As a complement, the half-shells 2 are formed on each sheet 1 head to tail with respect to each other, so that the necks 3 of a pair of half-shells 2 are contiguous and that the longitudinal axes XX of the half-shells 2 of this pair are parallel to each other and inclined to the general direction F of advancement of the sheet 1. The bottoms 5 of two half-shells 2 thus arranged head to tail are directly adjacent to the bottom 5 of the neighboring half-shells 2, each of the latter being arranged head to tail with another half-shell like the two half-shells 2 visible in full in FIG. 1, and so on along the sheet 1.

Après quoi, on soude également ensemble ces sections correspondantes afin de fermer les récipients, qui sont symétriques par rapport à leur axe X-X.To form complete containers from two sheets 1 thus produced, and moving for example in the direction F, the two sheets 1 are joined so that the edges of the respective complementary half-shells are applied against each other , and these half-shells are welded together, in a manner known per se and not shown, with the exception, however, of the horizontal upper sections 6a, 6b. In fact, a gap is left between these sections, by which the containers are filled, as indicated by the arrows R in FIG. 1. After which, these corresponding sections are also welded together in order to close the containers, which are symmetrical about their axis XX.

The assembly process of the half-shells is illustrated schematically in Figure 2, on which we see conjugate half-shells 8a, 8b having a general geometric contour different from that of the half-shells 2, but having like these two rectilinear sections on each of their edges, namely on one side two sections 9a, 11a and on the opposite side two sections 9b, 11b. In addition, in the embodiment of the method of Figure 2, the half-shells 8a, 8b are formed not in two separate sheets, but in a single sheet 12 folded in half along its median longitudinal axis Z-Z. After welding the half-shells 8a, 8b at station 13, with the exception of sections 9a of two complementary half-shells, the filling of each container 14 obtained is carried out as symbolized by the arrow K, then the upper sections are welded together 9a, and the sheet is cut as indicated by the arrows, in order to separate the bottles or receptacles 15 filled with the liquid 16.

(Flèche R).In the alternative embodiment of Figure 3, each half-shell 17 has edges consisting of three straight sections in broken lines 18a, 19a, 2la and 18b, 19b, 21b, the upper section 18a being parallel to the opposite lower section 18b and parallel to the direction of advance F, while the sections 19a and 21a, inclined to the direction F, are respectively parallel to the sections 19b and 21b. All of these sections constitute the body of the half-shell 17, which is completed by a neck 22 and a bottom 23. The necks 22 of two consecutive pairs of half-shells 17 are contiguous to the corresponding sections 19b, 21b inclined on direction F, this arrangement being found in consecutive pairs of half-shells 17. The assembly of these is carried out as previously, the filling being obtained by pouring the liquid between the horizontal upper sections 18a, 18b ... ( Arrow R).

In the embodiment of the method represented in FIG. 4, two sheets 25 are unwound from two rollers 24 in the vertical direction. The half-shells 26 molded in the sheets 25 are formed with their general axis YY transverse to the vertical direction of advance G, and forming with it an angle of about 45 degrees. The half-shells are arranged in head-to-tail pairs across the width of each sheet 25, with their necks 27 placed one above the other.

The filling of the containers obtained after assembly of the half-shells 26 is carried out by an opening left free between two upper rectilinear and contiguous horizontal sections 28 of two complementary half-shells, after which these two sections are welded together to close the container.

In this embodiment as in the previous ones, the head-to-tail arrangement two by two of the half-shells makes it possible to save a large amount of material compared to the conventional process.

In the embodiment of the process according to the invention shown diagrammatically in FIG. 5, in two sheets 30 (or in a single sheet folded in two along its longitudinal axis), containers formed more generally by two half-shaped shells such as 31 and 32, with elongated necks 33, 34 respectively arranged head to tail two by two one after the other.

The half-shells 31, 32 and the complementary half-shells (not shown) are assembled along edges 35, 36 parallel to each other, the filling taking place between two contiguous upper edges 35 or 36 as the case may be, which are then welded . It will be noted that the consecutive half-shells 31, 32 are closely nested one inside the other, which virtually eliminates any loss of material, that the containers obtained from these half-shells are not symmetrical, and do not require only one straight section on each lateral edge of each half-shell.
