Statt zwei Fäden können gegebenenfalls auch drei oder mehrere Fäden in den Einlaufschlitz 30 eingeführt werden. Die Zungen 5.7, 10 können z. B. aus Stahl bestehen. Nach dem Schußeintrag wird der Greifer 21 aus dem Webfach bewegt. Dabei gelangt ein an Zunge 5 angebrachter Ansatz 60 unter einen ortsfesten Nocken 70, wodurch die Zungen 5, 7 gegen ihre Federwirkung in Fig. 2 gemäß Pfeil D abwärts bewegt werden. Nunmehr kann Schlitz 30 durch eine Blas- oder Saugvorrichtung von Faserflug gereinigt werden.A design according to the invention also arises when z. Claims (7)

1. A giver for a gripper loom and comprising a clamping tongue (5) which engages a clamping jaw (2) fixedly disposed in the giver and cooperating with such jaw to bound a clamping slot (30), the tongue (5) being operative to retain the weft yarn (4, 9) to be picked into the shed, characterised in that the clamping tongue (5) has at its free end (41) a prolongation (41) which also engages the clamping jaw (2) and which is resilient relatively thereto.
2. A giver according to claim 1, characterised in that the prolongation (41) is considerably thinner than the clamping tongue (5).
3. A giver according to claim 1, characterised in that the prolongation (41) comprises at least one additional tongue (7) which the clamping tongue (5) carries and which projects beyond the free end (42) thereof.
4. A giver according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the additional tongue (7) is formed with a longitudinal slot (8) to facilitate its resilience.
5. A giver according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the additional tongue (7) is so disposed on the carrier tongue (5) as to be adjustable transversely of its own length (10) and as to be so locatable (6).
6. A giver according to any of claims 2 to 5, characterised in that the carrier tongue (5) and additional tongue (7) are pressed transversely (A) to their flatness into resilient engagement with a web (27) of the giver casing (22, 23, 25, 26), such web engaging around the clamping jaw (2).
7. A giver according to claim 6, characterised in that the web (27) is formed with a trapezoidal recess (33) into which the tongues (5, 7) are pressed resiliently (A) and with whose inclined surfaces (33, 35) they co-operate to bound the clamping slot (35).
