Abstract

A display unit for merchandise which is stored standing inside the unit strapped between a base tray and a lid tray, capable of being stored, transported and offered for sale via the topside, comprised of paperboard but, folded and glued in such a fashion as to form a block-shaped case. The case has a smooth lower section in which the merchandise can be stored with little lateral play between the side walls and the base tray. The side edges each display two v-shaped notches so that in a first section the side walls can be folded inwards and in a second section above said first section the side walls can be folded outwards approximately horizontally and a top section with vertical sides leading on from the second section. Plastic holders with fingers pointing inwards and a protective surface pointing downwards are slotted through an aperture near the folding line between the second section and the top section. In the first section where the fold slopes inwards, there are two lugs cut, respectively, below the protective surface. A rubber band is hooked into each of these lugs, led behind the protective surface and up along the outside surface of the top section where it is hooked onto a retaining tongue of the plastic holder. The lower edge of the lid terminates on a level with the inward fold of the first section.

Description

The invention relates to a display stand made of cut, folded and glued to a cuboid cardboard corrugated cardboard or hard cardboard with a separate lid for goods that stand inside the box, standing on a floor tray and tied up with a lid tray, storable and transportable and for sale-appropriate presentation on the The top of the box is freely accessible.

Display stands which are used at the same time for storing and transporting goods and for subsequent presentation thereof are generally known and customary. For example, DE-GM 79 01 841 shows a floor stand made of folded material with a tubular base and a container for goods articulated on its upper edge. For transportation, the foot and, if necessary, the container are folded flat. To set it up, the foot is first folded out in a tube. At the same time, pressure is exerted on the material parts between three parallel fold lines, as a result of which these wall parts fold inwards, lie against one another there and thereby form a circumferential flange which stabilizes the unfolded foot. To support the unfolding process and stability, a rubber band can also be provided, which pulls the wall parts inwards.

Display stands are primarily used to draw the buyer's attention in the store to goods that are not placed on the usual sales shelves, but rather are placed as a special sales unit primarily near the cash register. These display stands are brought to their final installation location by the dealer, where they are freed from their wrapping, which is intended exclusively for transport, and, if necessary, unfolded. The goods must then be brought into a position suitable for sale if they have not already been prepared by the manufacturer.

It is of considerable importance that the removal of the coverings intended for transport is quick and that the display stand takes up as little space as possible. Otherwise there is a risk that the dealer will place the display stand together with the goods in a remote corner of the shop, where the goods are naturally not noticeable and therefore little is bought, or that he will remove the goods from the display stand and place them on one of the usual sales shelves , where they are naturally less noticeable and less stimulate to buy.

Another important property is that the weight of the transportable unit does not become too large, so that female shop personnel can also transport the filled display stand to the installation site, but that, on the other hand, the goods can also be placed at the correct handle height that is incentive to buy.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a display stand of the type mentioned, which is simple to manufacture, protects the goods against damage during transport and storage and can be stacked on top of one another in several units without a void to be filled, and which can be done in a few simple steps small packaging parts that are unnecessary for the actual presentation of goods can be exempted and which allows the goods to be moved from the position for storage and transport into a position suitable for sale with one hand.

This object is achieved in that the carton has a smooth lower part in which the goods can be stored with little lateral play between the side walls and the bottom tray, that two V-shaped cutouts are cut out in the area of the side edges, so that a first section of the side walls initially obliquely inwards and a second section adjoining at the top approximately horizontally to the outside, that an upper section with smooth surfaces is present next to the second section, that on the front and rear surface of the upper section each have a plastic holder with inward holding fingers and one downward protective surface is inserted through a slot in the area of the fold line between the second section and upper section, that in the first, obliquely inwardly bent section under the protective surfaces one eyelet is cut, that in each of these eyelets a rubber ring is hung, which is behind the Protective surface and on the outside of the top is cut up and suspended in a retaining tongue of the plastic holder, that the lower edge of the lid ends in the area of the inwardly bent first section and that the lid rests directly on a lid tray during storage and transport.

This has the advantages that the display stand during storage and transport is an essentially cuboid structure with smooth side surfaces that can be stacked in an optimally compact manner, that the dimensions can be easily adapted to the respective goods, that after the cover has been removed, the lacing, which holds the goods together between the bottom tray and the lid tray, can be gripped with one hand and together with the goods, depending on the product layers, can be pulled up from the inside of the carton one or more times so that when the product unit is pulled up, the kinked inwards and under the effect of Eliminate rubber ring standing sections resiliently, then, when the bottom tray has overcome the constriction, immediately resiliently return to their original shape, that the holding fingers of the plastic holder engage in the bottom tray and thus prevent the still constricted unit of goods from the Displa y stand can be pulled out completely and that the floor tray with the goods standing on it finds a secure stand on the second, approximately horizontally bent section.

The height of the display is designed so that the lid rests directly on a lid tray of the inner goods units during storage and transport. This ensures that when several display stands are stacked on top of each other, the weight of the upper display stands is not absorbed by the carton but by the goods. This is particularly advantageous if the goods, which can be wine bottles, for example, are able to carry considerably more weight than the cardboard of the carton.

According to a further development of the invention, the carton and lid are covered with a shrink film during storage and transport. Here the lower edge of the lid serves as a guide for the knife usually used by shop staff when removing wrappings. The fact that the lower edge lies in the area of the inwardly bent sections of the side walls means that the cardboard itself is not damaged when the shrink film is cut open. At the same time, the protective surfaces on the plastic holders prevent damage to the rubber rings. The protective surfaces also have the further purpose of protecting the retaining eyelets for the rubber rings cut into the corrugated cardboard in the region of the first, inwardly bent section from the fact that they buckle up or tear out under the tension of the rubber ring.

The drawing shows a perspective view of a display stand made of cut, folded cardboard and glued into a cuboid cardboard with a lid.

The display stand 1 has a smooth lower part 3, which is shown transparently in order to be able to recognize the arrangement of the goods 19 in the interior of the display stand 1.

During transport and storage, the top of the display stand 1 is closed with a cover 2, which is also shown transparently with dash-dotted lines in order to be able to better recognize the special design of the display stand.

The lower part 3 of the display stand 1 has a cuboid shape with smooth side walls. Above a horizontally circumferential crease line 7, two V-shaped cutouts 5, 6 which are directly adjacent to one another are provided in the region of the side edges 4. These cutouts 5, 6 make it possible to bend a first section 8 of the side walls obliquely inwards and a second section 9 approximately horizontally outwards. This second section 9 forms a circumferential table-like surface on which the goods can later be placed in the sales-oriented position.

An upper section 10 directly adjoins the second, approximately horizontally bent section 9, the cross-section and side surfaces of which correspond to the lower part 3.

On the front and rear wall of the upper section 10 one can recognize a plastic holder 12, which is inserted through a slot 11 in the crease line between the second section 9 and the upper section 10.

The plastic holder 12 has holding fingers 13 and a holding lug 15 pointing inwards on its upper side. A protective surface 18 can be seen on its underside. The plastic holder 12 is held on the outside of the upper section by means of a rubber ring 16 which is suspended in the holding tongue 15 10 guided downwards and suspended in an eyelet 17 behind the protective surface 18.

This eyelet 17 is cut into the first, inwardly kinked section 8 of the side walls, the cut being chosen so that when the first section 8 is folded inwards, the underside of the eyelet 17 is released to facilitate the hanging of the rubber ring 16 .

As can also be seen from the drawing, the protective surface 18 of the plastic holder 12 is designed such that it not only covers the rubber ring 16 at the front, but at the same time also holds the eyelet 17 so that it does not after the action of the rubber ring 16 after prolonged storage can buckle or tear out at the top.

The goods 19, which are wine bottles, can be seen in the bottom part 3 of the display stand 1, which is shown in a transparent manner. These bottles 19 stand on a bottom tray 20. A lid tray 21 lies on the goods. Bottom tray 20 and lid tray 21 are designed such that the bottles 19 are held securely under the action of the lace 22.

To increase the clarity, it is not shown in the drawing that a second unit of bottles 19 stands on the unit shown. The height of the display stand 1 is chosen so that the lid tray of the bottle unit, not shown, protrudes slightly above the upper section 10, so that the lid 2 placed thereon rests on the uppermost lid tray. As a result, the weight of further display stands, which are stacked one above the other during transport and storage, is removed directly from the bottles 19. Glass bottles have a considerably higher strength than the cardboard of the display stand 1.

The bottom tray 20 is guided with little lateral play in the display stand 1. The cross section of the lid tray 21 is selected so that it also fits with little play through the constriction in the area of the inwardly bent sections 8, 9 of the side walls.

In order to bring the bottles 19 into the sales-oriented position, the shop staff grips the laces 22 - guided by appropriate printing on the lid tray 21 - and pulls up the base tray 20, lid tray 21 and the bottles 19 located between them. The inwardly bent sections 8, 9 of the side walls give way to the outside, the rubber rings 16 being tensioned. The holding fingers 13 of the plastic holder 12 grip the upper edge of the bottom tray 20 and thus prevent the product unit from being lifted out of the display stand 1 completely. As soon as the product unit is lowered again, the sections 8, 9 return to their original position under the tension of the rubber rings 16, so that the bottom tray 20 stands securely on the section 9 which is bent approximately horizontally outwards. After the lacing 22 has been cut through, the lid tray 21 can be removed, whereupon the bottles 19 are free in a position suitable for sale.

Flat U-shaped cutouts 25 in the area of the upper section 10 ensure that the plastic holders 12 are lowered to such an extent that the holding tongues 15 cannot pierce the cover 2. Furthermore, these U-shaped cutouts 25 enable the empty base tray 20 to be gripped and removed after the bottles 19 have been sold.

As the drawing also shows, a distance a is maintained between the crease line 7 and the lower edge of the cover 2. This section a is chosen so that when cutting the shrink film provided for storage and transport, the cardboard from which the display stand 1 is made is not damaged by the knife. It can also be seen that the protective surfaces 18 of the plastic holders 12 also protect the rubber rings 16 against damage by the knife.

Two notches 24 going downward can still be seen in these protective surfaces 18. If the goods tray 19, 20, 21, 22 on the lacing 22 is torn up with too much energy, the plastic holders 12 have the endeavor to extend the elastic band 16 excessively via the tray stop on the fingers 13; in extreme cases, they could even slide completely out of the slot 11. This is prevented by the automatic interlocking of the rubber band 16 in the notches 24 mentioned, as a result of which it is shortened and tied around the upper section 10 and thus only has a fraction of the original extensibility.

In order to prevent the light display stand 1 from also being lifted when the lowermost product unit is pulled up, side tabs 23 are provided on the floor, onto which the shop staff can put his foot.

During the development of the display stand 1, attempts were also made to achieve the resilient buckling in the area of the sections 8, 9 by means of a circumferential rubber band placed in the incision. However, this solution had the disadvantage that the corners of the bottom tray 20 get caught in the rubber band when the bottles 19 are pulled up. However, in the event that a bottom tray with bevelled edges can be used, such a solution could also be used.
