Definitions
- the invention relates to a continuously operating press for pressing a leading material web with a rigid press frame, with an upper and a lower, endless press belt, each guided via a pair of deflection rollers rotatably mounted in the press frame, with a heating device for heating at least one deflection roller of each pair, with a reaction zone formed between the mutually facing strands of the upper and lower press belt for pressing the leading material web with simultaneous exposure to heat, and with pressure plates having a heating device on the rear sides of the press belt run facing away from the reaction zone for exerting a pressing pressure on these rear sides and thus on the material web.
- the finished product i.e. a material web pressed under the influence of heat, for example in the form of decorative, multi-layer laminates, chipboard, fiberboard, plywood boards, electrolaminates
- the required dimensional accuracy i.e. in particular shows different thicknesses across its width, which made expensive post-treatment of the pressed material, such as grinding the surface or the like, necessary.
- the object is achieved in that the press frame or at least parts thereof are additionally heated by a further heating device and heat shield caps which are movable on the press frame are arranged out of the way.
- the following are particularly suitable as materials: laminates impregnated with synthetic resin, chipboard, fiberboard, plywood, electrical laminates and the like.
- the deflecting rollers 2, 4 located on the inlet side of the material web are known per se via corresponding heating devices Heated way, for example with the help of a heated thermal oil.
- the pressing pressure to be exerted on the material web (not shown) is transferred hydraulically or mechanically from pressure plates 9, 11 to the belt runs delimiting the reaction zone 8 at the top and bottom. With hydraulic pressure transmission, the pressure plates 9, 11 are mounted on the frame. A pressure medium which can be pressurized is introduced into the space between the pressure plate and the rear side of the associated belt run.
- rollers running across the belt width are arranged in the space between the pressure plates, which in this case are slidably mounted, and the associated belt strand.
- the pressure plates with the rollers can be pressed against the relevant belt run via pressure medium cylinders mounted on the press frame.
- the printing plates can be heated by heating devices assigned to them, for example by thermal oil circulating in the plates.
- the press belts 6.7 are made of metal, preferably stainless steel.
- the press frame comprises a stationary base plate 12 in which two L-shaped stands 13 are firmly anchored.
- the deflecting rollers 2, 3, 4, 5 are supported in a self-supporting manner on the vertically extending legs 14 of the stand 13.
- This bearing arrangement comprises a plurality of support beams 15, 16 in as a cantilevered frame parts Form of strong, rigid in themselves double - T-beams as well as bearing brackets 17,18,19,21 of substantially rectangular cross-sectional shape.
- the press belts 6,7 run around the support beams and the bearing bridges.
- Elongated head plates 22, 23, to which the mentioned bearing bridges are screwed, are welded to the front and rear end faces of the support beams 15, 16.
- the bearing brackets 17,19 and 18,21 are used respectively with height adjustable spindles 24 which ressb skilledn adjusting the height of the reaction zone 8 between the P 6,7, connected with each other.
- the press belts 6, 7 can be tensioned by means of hydraulic cylinders 25, 26, which are arranged in the bearing bridges 17 and 19 (FIG. 1), so that they are safely carried along by the driven deflecting rollers.
- the lower bearing bridge 21 located there on the right is anchored in the leg 14 of the stand 13 in such a way that it supports the lower pair of rollers with the intermediate frame parts, namely the support beams 16 and the head plates 23, with the deflection rollers are rotatably supported in the bearing bridges.
- the upper pair of deflecting rollers (deflecting rollers 2, 3) is supported on its bearing bridges 17, 18 via the spindles 24 on the bearing bridges 19, 21 of the lower pair of deflecting rollers.
- Arms 27 protrude from the bearing bracket 18 on the right in FIG.
- reaction forces emanating from the pressed material web are conducted via the pressure plates 9, 11 to the support beams 15, 16, from where they are guided into the bearing bridges 17, 18, 19, 21 and then via the spindles 24 and the stands 13 into the base plate 12 and thus be taken up by the earth.
- the pressure plates 9, 11 are preferably heated to the same temperature as the press belts 6, 7.
- the pressure plates 9, 11 are, as described and shown, in direct thermal contact with the rest of the press frame, which is at least partially at room temperature, since it is in contact with the surrounding room air. Differences in temperature thus occur in the press frame. Due to the high thermal coefficient of linear expansion for metals, those parts of the press frame that are at an elevated temperature will not expand much more than the others so strongly heated parts, which are further away from the pressure plates 9, 11. Because of these different lengths, it can be in the press frame or in parts thereof, especially in the support beams.
- the press frame according to the invention is designed to be heatable and provided with heat shields.
- further heating devices are arranged on the press frame or at least on parts thereof. These heating devices can be present, for example, in the form of bores or channels 31 in the support beams 15, 16 and head plates 22, 23 .
- the holes form a pipe system through which a hot thermal oil circulates.
- heating plates 32 and 33 are directly connected to the upper and lower webs of the support beams 15 and 16, through which the support beams are heated to a desired temperature, preferably to the temperature of the pressure plates 9.11 are heated.
- the heating plates 32, 33 can in turn can also be heated, for example, with thermal oil or electrically. They are preferably welded directly onto the support beams 15, 16 with a large contact area. Since, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the end faces of the heating plates 32, 33 are easily accessible, lines for a thermal oil circuit can be connected there without further ado.
- heat shield caps 34 which are part of the one, are arranged in the region of the outer surfaces of the deflecting rollers 2, 3, 4, 5, 34 emerging from the press frame 1 Form press overall surrounding machine casing 35 (Fig. 1). Because of this cladding 34, 35, practically only the entry gap and exit gap for the material web to be pressed are directly connected to the surroundings.
- the shielding caps 34 which also consist of sheet metal like the covering 35, are provided on the inside in a known manner with a heat-insulating layer.
- the shield 34 is in turn rotatably supported by an axis. Because of this double-joint design, the shielding cap 34 can be pivoted sideways to the press, where it takes up relatively little space. In another embodiment, the shielding cap can also be designed to be pivotable upwards or downwards. A displacement movement using telescopic arms or the like is also possible. Finally, in a further development of the movable shielding cap, its movement can also be carried out in a manner known per se with the aid of a motor drive.
- the heating devices associated with the press frame or parts thereof are controlled by control loops known per se.
- the actual value of the deflection of the support beams 15, 16 becomes with the aid of measuring sensors or other press frame parts determined and compared with the target value to be maintained. If necessary, the heating of the press frame is then temporarily switched on and off, so that the target value, which is assigned to the geometry of the press frame, is always retained.
- the actual value of the material to be pressed can also be detected by means of corresponding feelers and the heating device of the press frame or its parts can be controlled via a control circuit which responds to deviations of the actual thickness of the finished material from the target thickness.

Description
The invention relates to a continuously operating press for pressing a leading material web with a rigid press frame, with an upper and a lower, endless press belt, each guided via a pair of deflection rollers rotatably mounted in the press frame, with a heating device for heating at least one deflection roller of each pair, with a reaction zone formed between the mutually facing strands of the upper and lower press belt for pressing the leading material web with simultaneous exposure to heat, and with pressure plates having a heating device on the rear sides of the press belt run facing away from the reaction zone for exerting a pressing pressure on these rear sides and thus on the material web.
In known devices of this type it can happen that the finished product, i.e. a material web pressed under the influence of heat, for example in the form of decorative, multi-layer laminates, chipboard, fiberboard, plywood boards, electrolaminates, does not show the required dimensional accuracy, i.e. in particular shows different thicknesses across its width, which made expensive post-treatment of the pressed material, such as grinding the surface or the like, necessary. Obviously, with an accurately dimensioned end product, it is crucial to keep the distance between the press belts in the reaction zone uniformly constant everywhere. Since considerable reaction forces occur in the course of the pressing process, which can possibly impair an even spacing of the press belt, efforts are being made to make the machine frame of the presses in question particularly rigid. Nevertheless, the quality of the finished product left much to be desired in many cases.
It has now been found that the inadequate dimensional accuracy of the pressed material is essentially due to deformations of the press frame, which result from the fact that, due to uncontrollable heat losses, it has different temperatures in some areas, which can change the geometry of the frame, so that the dimensional accuracy of the pressed material suffers.
It is an object of the invention to improve a generic press in such a way that the geometric machine dimensions experience no change during operation due to heat losses.
The object is achieved in that the press frame or at least parts thereof are additionally heated by a further heating device and heat shield caps which are movable on the press frame are arranged out of the way.
This makes it possible to practically completely avoid heat losses and to keep the press frame at an exactly constant temperature, so that, in the end, a precisely dimensioned finished product can be achieved.

In the continuously operating press shown schematically in the figures for pressing a leading material web, four
The press frame; see. 1 and 2 in particular, comprises a
As can be seen from Fig. 2, the
The reaction forces emanating from the pressed material web are conducted via the
To avoid heat losses in the
In order to further isolate the press frame and the press belts from the ambient air and to prevent heat losses into the environment,
In particularly advantageous embodiments of the invention, the heating devices associated with the press frame or parts thereof, for example the
Since such control loops are known per se, their constructional embodiment does not need to be discussed here in mechanical and electrical terms.
Two different types of further heating devices for the press frame or parts thereof have been described above, namely heating by means of thermal oil or by means of the
