Abstract

The pendulum-swinging door has a supportive structure comprising a vertical and a horizontal shank, and a door leaf made of flexible material. The supportive structure consists of an angular piece (1), forming the top corner of the door. Its vertical shank (2) reaches down to half the doorway's clear height, at the most. There it is mounted in a bottom bearing (5), located at this level. The horizontal shank (3), similarly extending only over a small part of the door wing width, is prolonged by two rectangular profiles (6), at approx. door width. The door leaf (8) is held between these.

Description

The invention relates to a single or double-leaf swing door with a support structure formed by a vertical and a horizontal leg and with a door leaf made of flexible material. Such doors, which are mainly used in commercial buildings, are subjected to extremely heavy loads because they are either opened in such a way that the passing vehicles push against the door leaves and in this way pivot the door leaves against the force of their closing springs until the corresponding one Passage width is reached, or that the door leaves are opened by a motor drive after a pulse triggered by the approaching vehicle. Here, too, there is a particularly high load because the wings should open very quickly so that the vehicle does not have to be stopped. Finally, it cannot be avoided that parts of the load protruding beyond the vehicle or the vehicle itself bumps into the door leaves by unskillful steering and, as a result, acts on the door structure and the bearing with strong impacts. As a result, it is necessary to design the supporting structure of the door wing to be correspondingly strong, which has an unfavorable cost effect not only because of the more strongly dimensioned profiles, but also because of its greater mass, which is caused by the pivoting movement must be set, a stronger drive is required or an even more violent push is required for approach doors.

In view of these factors that are decisive for the construction, it follows that for the different size dimensions of the doors, taking into account the approximately foreseeable stresses, individual dimensions of the profiles have to be used, which contradicts the desired standardization of at least parts of the supporting structure.

There is a swing door construction known (DE-PS 28 30 774), in which at a corner piece forming the upper corner of the supporting structure further spar parts are attached vertically and horizontally in order to assemble a complete supporting frame corresponding to the required dimensions in a modular manner, in which the horizontal spar is approximately extends over the width of the door leaf and the vertical beam over the height of the clear door opening, where it is mounted below and above. Since the extension parts should be as similar as possible for reasons of standardization, the profiles must be dimensioned so that they also have the required strength for large-area doors. This means that the same parts are oversized for doors of smaller dimensions. In addition, the extension parts are pushed into each other at the joints and therefore require more material than would be necessary for the load-bearing capacity itself.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a swing door which satisfies the same requirements in such a way that the same stability is achieved with a supporting structure which is of considerably weaker dimensions and also further standardization of interchangeable components is made possible.

According to the invention, the support structure of a swing door wing consists of an angle piece forming the upper corner, the vertical leg of which extends from above to at most half the clear height of the door opening downwards, where it is mounted in the lower bearing located at the appropriate height, and its horizontal leg , which also extends only over a small part of the width of the door leaf, is extended by two rectangular profiles to approximately the door width, between which the door leaf is held. The angle piece is designed such that it can absorb the forces that occur, and it even shows that the profiles can be dimensioned weaker than in a conventional support structure that extends over the entire height and width, because the vertical spar in this arrangement is free of Bending moments that result from the weight of the door leaf and the horizontal bar.

The elbow according to the invention can also be designed such that it also accommodates the spring and drive mechanism in addition to the bearing parts, as is known, for example, from the aforementioned DE-PS 28 30 774. Accordingly, the vertical leg consists of a hollow profile that is dimensioned so that the closing spring has room in it. At the upper end of the vertical leg is the horizontal leg, which in its simplest form consists of a strong triangular sheet, to which a rectangular hollow profile is attached on both sides to extend the horizontal leg, approximately to the width of the door, which together form the horizontal spar. Between these two rectangular hollow profiles the elastic door leaf is pushed in and rests without jamming and without screws with a bead formed approximately parallel to the upper edge of the door leaf on the two rectangular hollow profiles forming the horizontal bar. The flexible door leaf expediently protrudes slightly beyond the bead, which means that it can be adapted to the lintel, which is often not exactly horizontal. In the case of larger door widths, it may be expedient to support the two rectangular hollow profiles forming the horizontal spar by struts which stiffen the corner and extend to the vertical leg of the angle piece.

Just as on the horizontal leg of the contra-angle, two parallel rectangular hollow profiles can also be attached to the vertical leg of the contra-angle as an extension downwards, between which the door leaf is inserted and positioned without jamming with screws in elongated holes such that the changes in length caused by temperature effects and cold flow do not occur hindered and warps and curls are avoided. Since the rectangular hollow sections attached to the vertical legs of the contra-angle handpiece only serve the purpose of guiding the door leaf between them during the rotational movement and keeping them stable against the wind pressure, they can be attached, for example, to the extended bearing journal which projects downwards through the lower bearing be. Accordingly, it is sufficient to let the vertically running rectangular hollow profiles play at the lower end in a simple guide, since they are not subjected to any further loads after all the forces have been absorbed by the upper and lower bearings of the vertical leg.

1 and 2 show an example of an embodiment of the invention:
  • The support structure of the swing door according to the invention consists of the angle piece 1, which is formed by the vertical leg 2 and the horizontal leg 3. The vertical leg 2 extends from the upper bearing 4 to at most half the height of the door opening, where it sits in the lower bearing 5. The vertical leg 2 is designed as a hollow body in which the closing spring mechanism is accommodated. The horizontal leg 3 of the angle piece 1 consists of a strong, triangular sheet metal and also extends only over a small part of the width of the door leaf. On this horizontal leg 3, two parallel rectangular hollow profiles 6 are screwed as an extension, between which the elastic door leaf 8 is inserted. A bead is formed on the door leaf 8 approximately along its upper edge on both sides, with which it rests on the horizontal rectangular hollow profiles 6 forming the vertical straw. These horizontal rectangular hollow profiles 6, which have to absorb the weight of the door leaf 8, are supported with struts 9 reaching obliquely to the vertical leg 2. Just as on the horizontal leg 3, two parallel rectangular hollow profiles 7 are also attached to the vertical leg 2 of the angle piece 1 as an extension downwards, namely that they are screwed onto the bearing journal of the vertical leg 2 which projects under the lower bearing 5. At the bottom, they are held in a simple bearing ring. Between the rectangular hollow profiles 7, the door leaf 8 is pushed through to the door frame and is held in place only by means of screws in elongated holes without being pinched.
