Description

The invention relates to a weaving machine with a weft supply spool remaining outside the shed during the weft insertion, from which the thread is drawn off during the entry, and with a selvage needle for inserting the weft end located outside the compartment into a following compartment.

In a previous weaving machine of this type (DE-C-1 710 353), the end of the weft thread is held by means of an edge thread clamp, is guided over the bar-laid selvage needle and then inserted into the shed by the latter. The mechanical movement of the edge thread clamp and the subsequent transfer of the weft end to the selvage needle take a relatively long time within the working cycle of the weaving machine.

The invention has for its object to provide a particularly improved machine in this regard.

The invention is characterized by an air nozzle, preferably a blowing nozzle, for transferring the weft end to the groin needle. As the tests showed, the weft end can be handed over to the groin needle in a particularly short time. By transferring the weft end to the groin needle by air, higher speeds of the weaving machine are therefore made possible.

  • Fig. 2 zeigt ein zugehöriges Detail im Schnitt,

  • Fig. 8 veranschaulicht eine noch andere Bauart.
Further features of the invention result from the following description of exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the drawing and the claims.
  • 1 is a schematic representation of an air jet weaving machine, seen from the goods side,
  • 2 shows an associated detail in section,
  • Fig. 3 is a section along line 111-111 in Fig. 2, partially in view.
  • 4 to 6 are each an associated top view of the fabric, partially schematic, in three different positions of the parts,
  • 7 is a plan view of a modified embodiment on a larger scale,
  • 8 illustrates yet another type.

The weaving machine, designated as a whole by 31, contains two machine cheeks 32, 33. A goods tree 34 and a reed 35 are arranged between them. The weft 36 is drawn off from a stationary spool 37, passed through a weft brake 38 and blown in from a main entry nozzle 39 located outside the shed 65 (weaving width W). Auxiliary nozzles 1 are arranged over the weaving width W and protrude into the shed 65 during the weft insertion. A suction nozzle 42 is arranged on the catch side 41.

The nozzles 39,1,42 are e.g. Valves 44 controlled by an electronic control device 43 are connected to an air distribution pipe 45, which is fed via an air supply line 46 from a compressed air container (air source) 47. The container 47 is held under pressure by an air compressor, not shown.

On the weft side 61 there is a blowing nozzle 62 which is directed upwards in FIGS. 1-3 and which is directed back and forth on an arrow 63. moving carrier 64 is attached. The shed 65, in which the weft thread 36 is inserted, is formed by the high shed warp threads 66 and the deep shed warp threads 67. There are also a number of edge warp threads 68 by which the weft thread ends 36a are held.

During the insertion of a weft thread 36c, the carrier 64 with the nozzle 62 is moved from the front, ineffective reversal position according to FIG. 4, which is distant from the reed 35, into the rear reversal position (operative position) shown in FIG. 5, close to the reed 35. The free end 36a of the previously inserted weft thread 36 is clamped by means of the edge warp threads 68. A selvage needle 72 is then inserted from above through the high shed threads 66 around the pivot point 71 according to FIG. 2. The tip 73 of the needle 72 contains an eyelet 74, the diameter of which is larger than the diameter of the nozzle 62. The nozzle 62 is now directly under the eyelet 74 of the needle 72 according to FIG. 5. The weft thread 36 is thereby carried on the carrier 64 attached, moving, pin-shaped thread guide 76 over the nozzle 62 and held in this position tensioned. Now the weft thread 36 is cut off by scissors 77. At the same time, nozzle 62 receives blown air, so that the weft thread end 36b is blown into the eyelet 74 of the groin needle 72 according to FIG. 2.

Subsequently, the selvage needle 72 is moved to the left according to FIG. 6, so that the weft thread end 36b is inserted into the shed 65. During this movement, the tray is not shown
Heald frames closed, thereby clamping end 36b. At the same time, the reed 35 is pivoted to the right in FIG. 3, as a result of which the end 36b together with the weft thread 36c is struck against the fabric 78 at the stop 79.

The groin needle 72 is now pulled out of the compartment 65 again, the blowing air in the nozzle 62 is interrupted again, the carrier 64 with the blowing nozzle 62 is then again from the rear reverse position (effective position) according to FIG. 4). The auxiliary bar 82 can now be removed. The machine is for that Entry of the weft 36c following the weft entry ready. An insert strip 81 is formed on the fabric 78 and forms the fabric edge.

In a modified embodiment (FIG. 8), the groin needle 72 has a hook 91 instead of an eyelet 74, around which the weft ends 36b are placed by means of a correspondingly arranged blowing nozzle 62.

A blowing nozzle 62 for transferring the weft thread end 36b to the selvage needle 72 is naturally particularly suitable for air jet weaving machines in which compressed air is available anyway and at which particularly high speeds are available.

In a modified embodiment, a blowing nozzle 62 is also provided on the catch side 41 for transferring the weft thread ends into a groin needle. In a further exemplary embodiment, a suction nozzle is used instead of the blowing nozzle 62, through which the thread end 36b is sucked through the eyelet 74 of the groin needle 72.

In yet another design, a multi-hole nozzle 62a according to FIG. 7 is used as the blowing nozzle, which has a sieve-like arrangement of a larger number of elementary nozzle holes.
