The same applies to the housing 9 of the gas spring 8, whereas the sleeve 23 consists of a softer material, for example die-cast zinc.

Längenverstellungen der Gasfeder 8 und damit Höhenverstellungen der gesamten Hubvorrichtung erfolgen durch Betätigung eines aus dem oberen, der Kolbenstange 10 abgewandten Ende herausragenden Betätigungsstössels 26 der Gasfeder 8, der zur Ermöglichung der entsprechenden Längenverstellungen in das Gehäuse 9 hineingedrückt wird. Hierzu ist in dem sich konisch nach oben verjüngenden Befestigungsabschnitt 21 ein nach oben aus letzterem herausragender Schiebekörper 27 angeordnet, der mit einer Anlagefläche 28 gegen den Betätigungsstössei 26 anliegt. Dieser Schiebekörper 27 ist weiterhin mit Haltefingern 29 versehen, die federnd hinter einen entsprechenden Ring 30 an der Hülse 23 greifen, wodurch der Schiebekörper 27 gegen ein unbeabsichtigtes Herausfallen oder Herausziehen aus dem Befestigungsabschnitt 21 unter gleichzeitiger weitgehend spielfreier Anlage der Anlagefläche 28 gegen den Betätigungsstössel 26 gesichert ist. Zum Einschieben des Betätigungsstössels 26 in das Gehäuse 9 können die Haltefinger 29 des Schiebekörpers 27 selbstverständlich an der Innenfläche der Hülse 23 frei entlanggleiten. Die Betätigung erfolgt mittels eines in der Nabe 22 in üblicher Weise gelagerten schwenkbaren Betätigungshebels 35, der gegen eine axial verstellbare Aussenfläche 36 des Schiebekörpers 27 zur Anlage kommt. Diese Aussenfläche 36 wird durch den Kopf einer Schraube 31 gebildet, die in eine entsprechende koaxiale Ausnehmung 32 im Schiebekörper 27 hineingeschraubt ist. Die Schraube 31 und die Ausnehmung 32 sind so dimensioniert, dass die mit einem Holzschraubengewinde versehene Schraube 31 in dem Kunststoff des Schiebekörpers 27 selbsthemmend gehalten ist. Die Schraube 31 wird derart in den Schiebekörper 27 eingeschraubt, dass ihre Aussenfläche 36 spielfrei gegen den Betätigungshebel 35 anliegt, dass dieser also kein für einen Benutzer spürbares Spiel hat. Um die als Schlitz-oder Sechskantschraube ausgebildete Schraube in einfacher Weise in den Schiebekörper hinein-oder aus diesem herausdrehen zu können, ist der Schiebekörper 27 undrehbar in dem Befestigungsabschnitt 21 angeordnet. Hierzu ist ein oberer, an der Innenwand des Befestigungsabschnittes 21 anliegender hülsenartiger Führungsabschnitt 33 als Polygon-Querschnitt, beispielsweise als Acht-Kant-Querschnitt ausgebildet, wie aus Fig. 2 hervorgeht. Die Mantellinien dieses Führungsabschnittes 33 verlaufen parallel zueinander. Entsprechend ist die Innenwand des Befestigungsabschnittes 21 als acht-kantige Führungsfläche 34 ausgebildet, die so bemessen ist, dass der Führungsabschnitt 33 an ihr klemmungsfrei aber verdrehungsgesichert entlanggleiten kann. The actuation takes place by means of a pivotable actuation lever 35 which is mounted in the hub 22 in the usual way and which comes to bear against an axially adjustable outer surface 36 of the sliding body 27. This outer surface 36 is formed by the head of a screw 31 which is screwed into a corresponding coaxial recess 32 in the sliding body 27. The screw 31 and the recess 32 are dimensioned such that the screw 31 provided with a wood screw thread is held in the plastic of the sliding body 27 in a self-locking manner. The screw 31 is screwed into the sliding body 27 in such a way that its outer surface 36 lies against the actuating lever 35 without play, so that it does not have any play noticeable to a user. In order to be able to easily screw the screw designed as a slotted or hexagon screw into or out of the sliding body, the sliding body 27 is non-rotatably arranged in the fastening section 21. For this purpose, an upper sleeve-like guide section 33, which bears against the inner wall of the fastening section 21, is designed as a polygon cross section, for example as an octagonal cross section, as can be seen from FIG. 2. The surface lines of this guide section 33 run parallel to one another. Accordingly, the inner wall of the fastening section 21 is designed as an octagonal guide surface 34, which is dimensioned such that the guide section 33 can slide along it without jamming but secured against rotation. The guide surface 34 thus extends downward beyond the guide section 33 by the amount by which the actuating plunger 26 can be inserted into the housing 9.

Claims (4)

1. Longitudinally displaceable pneumatic spring for a lockable lifting device for the infinitely variable adjustment of seats, table tops or the like, with an at least predominantly cylindrical housing from one end of which project coaxially a piston rod (10) and from its other end coaxially an actuating push rod (26) for longitudinal adjustment purposes, with, extending the housing (9) coaxially and enclosing the actuating push rod (26), a fixing portion for attachment to a hub provided on the seat or on the table top and with, disposed for displacement in the fixing portion (21) and adapted to abut the actuating push rod (26), a sliding member (27) comprising an axially screw-adjustable outer surface for substantially clearance free abutment on an actuating lever (35), characterised in that the sliding member (27) is non-rotatably guided in the fixing portion (21), for which purpose the sliding member (27) has, bearing on a guide face (34) of the fixing portion (21), a guide portion (33) of non-circular cross-section.
2. Pneumatic spring according to Patent Claim 1, characterised in that the guide portion (33) and the guide face (34) have a polygonal cross-section.
3. Pneumatic spring according to one of Patent Claims 1 or 2, characterised in that guide portion (33) and guide face (34) are bounded by mutually parallel generatrices.
4. Pneumatic spring according to one of Patent Claims 1 to 3, particularly Patent Claim-3, characterised in that the sliding member (27) is axially outwardly fixed in its inoperative position.
