Description

The present invention relates to a flexible sleeve band according to the first part of claim 1.

In known sleeve tapes for tennis racquets, the predetermined spacing of the protective sleeves in the prefabricated sleeve tapes and because of the inaccurate matching thereof with the holes in the frame of the tennis racket for pulling the strings often cause considerable difficulties in inserting the protective sleeves into the holes. This problem may include: a. due to the fact that, possibly with the exception of the bores in the heart of the racket, the bores along the frame have different angles to a common reference axis, since the direction of the bores at the location of the bores is perpendicular or almost perpendicular to the tangent to the frame to be thought .

Although from US-A-3 930 648 a sleeve band according to the first part of claim 1 is known, this sleeve band is provided between the sleeves with relatively thick support pads for supporting the straps formed when pulling the strings. However, this sleeve band must be adapted to the bore arrangement of the racket design, in that the distances between adjacent sleeves to the heart and also to the racket head become differently greater than in the rest of the edge bow area. Such a sleeve band can therefore not be used for clubs with other hole spacings. In addition, the assembly is relatively difficult because of the different angular positions mentioned above and the inevitable tolerances of the holes.

Furthermore, a tennis racket is known from FR-A-1 059 989, in which an annular sleeve band with protective sleeves made of elastic material, with holes provided at the same distance, is applied to the outer wall of the frame. This ring-shaped sleeve band is stretched during assembly so that the holes overlap with those of the frame. To protect the ring band, a perforated leather band with holes provided at the same distance is applied to it. Both tapes are stretched on the frame in the hole areas on the remaining narrow edge zones, so that elongated holes are created. These can therefore no longer cover the frame in the area of the longitudinal extent. It can therefore not be excluded that the strings come into contact with the frame and are therefore worn out prematurely. There is also the risk that the tape in the area of the remaining narrow lateral tape or edge strips in the diagonal areas of the frame, in particular towards the heart of the racket. tears particularly quickly. There, the hole spacing of the holes in the frame becomes up to more than twice as large as, for example, in the central lateral frame section or in the head region of the frame.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to improve a sleeve tape of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the difficulties described are eliminated with simple means, so that the sleeve tape with the protective sleeves can be mounted more easily on the racket without additional work and time, manufacturing tolerances without can be further compensated and the sleeve band can be used for the most varied types of frames of ball racquets. Damage to the tape, the frame and the strings should be avoided as completely as possible when opening the strings and playing the ball.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.

The invention is characterized in that the distance between two protective sleeves can be adapted without difficulty to the predetermined distances between the holes in the racket frame without additional effort and time and without the risk of overstretching or tearing of the sleeve band.

The expansion sections are designed in particular as expansion shafts. These can run parallel or perpendicular to the sleeve band plane. However, the parallel arrangement is more expedient since the tape on the frame and the strings on the tape then lie smoothly on one another.

Appropriate embodiments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims and are described below with reference to the exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawing. Show:
  • 1 shows a sleeve band with expansion waves running in the plane of the band,
  • Figure 2 is a sleeve band with perpendicular to the plane of the band expansion waves from the side and
  • Figure 3 shows the tape of Figure 2 from above in plan view.

Mit 1 ist ein Hülsenband für einen Tennisschläger oder für andere mit einer Saitenbespannung versehene Ballschläger bezeichnet, dessen Schutzhülsen 2 in bestimmtem, vorgegebenem Abstand voneinander senkrecht zur Bandebene vorgesehen sind.1 with a sleeve band for a tennis racket or for other ball racquets provided with string covering, the protective sleeves 2 of which are provided at a certain, predetermined distance from one another perpendicular to the band plane.

In the sleeve band 1 made of hard-elastic material, expansion sections 3 in the form of expansion shafts 4 are provided between two protective sleeves 2 for length compensation. 1, seen from the narrow edges 5, 6 in the plane of the sleeve band 1. These are formed according to the left representation by at least two, in the execution Example by three, alternately laterally from the narrow edges 5 or 6 to the opposite narrow edge 6 or 5 extending vertical or inclined slots 7 and 8. This creates an expansion shaft 4 between the protective sleeves 2 in the expansion section 3, whereby the distance 9 between two protective sleeves 2 varies slightly and the spacing of the holes for the strings in a racket can be easily adapted. The length of the expansion waves 4 can - in FIG. 1 with respect to the center line M - be half a wavelength up to several wavelengths A. A wavelength λ is preferably between 1.5 and 10 mm, in particular between 2.5 and 4 mm. The flexibility of the expansion shafts 4 can be determined or set by dimensioning the webs 10 and / or the edge arches 11 which remain and run transversely to the sleeve band 1.

In the middle embodiment (Fig. 1) V-shaped cuts 12 are provided to form the expansion shafts 4, in the right embodiment (Fig. 1) the middle cut is as V-cut 12 and the outer cuts 13 are half -V-shaped incisions 13 formed. As a result, there are no unevenness in the belt level. Another possible embodiment is shown with reference to Figures 2 and 3. Here, the expansion shafts 4 run perpendicular to the plane of the sleeve band 1, as can be seen particularly clearly in FIG. 2. At the same time, a weakening of the material can be carried out, as the left and middle embodiments show. This allows that the wave peaks do not necessarily have to protrude beyond the band surfaces 14 and 15.
