Description

The invention relates to wheel-shaped water sports equipment according to the preamble of claims 1, 4 and 5.

Wheel-shaped structures have become known as water sports devices, which have standing height inside and are provided with blades on the outside. By walking inside the wheel, the wheel turns and moves forward in the water by means of shovels. The known water pedal bikes (FR-A-1 258 155) are mostly formed from inflatable parts, so that such a bike has little stability. If the water bike does not have a minimum width, the erecting force is relatively small, so that it is difficult to keep the water bike in a vertical position at all times. Once it falls over, it is difficult to straighten it up. In addition, it is disadvantageous in the known device that it is difficult to handle on a solid surface.

The invention is therefore based on the object of improving a water sports device of the type mentioned in such a way that increased safety in operation is ensured and that it is easier to handle in the water and on land.

According to a first alternative, the features of claim 1 are provided to achieve this object.

In the water sports device according to the invention, struts are attached, with which a floating or stabilizing body arranged outside the wheel can be connected. A stabilizing body can be provided on both sides or only on one side and ensures that the water pedal bike is normally always in an upright position, even if the person in the wheel makes an awkward movement.

The struts must be attached so that they do not disturb the person inside the wheel. One embodiment provides that radial struts are provided which are rotatably connected to a support frame which in turn is connected to the floating or stabilizing body. The rotatable coupling to the support frame is required because the stabilizing body must not naturally rotate when the wheel is set in motion.

Another alternative according to claim 5 is to attach to the outside of the wheel a plurality of circumferentially spaced horizontal struts which are connected to an auxiliary wheel which accordingly rotates with the actual water pedal wheel when it is set in rotation.

Finally, according to a further alternative according to claim 4, a second water pedal wheel can also be provided, the two water pedal wheels preferably being connected to one another via a connecting rod. The second pedal bike also acts like a floating and stabilizing body and also allows two people to move forward on the water at the same time. The connecting rod can be connected to the respective radial struts on the assigned water pedal wheel. A seat or a container can also be attached to the connecting rod for transporting a person or things. In the former case, such a tandem wheel can also be used for rescue purposes, for example. B. Rescue people who have broken into the ice or are about to sink into boggy terrain.

If only one water pedal wheel is provided, the floating and stabilizing bodies are preferably elongated floating bodies, which are rotatably coupled to the radial struts on the wheel via corresponding support struts. The connection of the support frame with the floating bodies and the radial struts and the connection of the radial struts is preferably designed to be detachable, so that the assembly of the finished water bike also only in place, i. H. can take place on a lake, a river or the like.

In addition to the floats, a steering surface can also be attached to steer the water bike in a certain direction.

Radial struts attached to both sides of a wheel can also be used to hold a seat or the like. The seat, which can be designed in the form of a U-shaped rod, must in turn be pivotally mounted in the supports.

In the case of a tandem water wheel, a sail can also be coupled to the connecting rod. In this case, it is expedient to mount the blades in an adjustable manner, preferably pivotably in such a way that they can be folded in one direction against the circumference of the wheel, so that the blades do not oppose one another in an advancing direction. On the other hand, they are moved into their extended position by gravity and held against a stop by water pressure, which prevents them from folding in the opposite direction.

The wheel of the water sports device according to the invention is preferably made of plastic material. The wheel is preferably rectangular in cross-section, the side walls and inner and outer walls being formed from flat plastic material, while the interior is hollow. The wall sections are preferably attached to one another by welding. The wall sections consist, for. B. made of polyethylene. Rings are preferably welded to the disks on the outer circumference, which protrude radially somewhat beyond the blades. This allows the wheel to roll easily on a surface without the blades to be damaged. Rings are also preferably arranged on the inside of the disks, which serve primarily to protect the person in the water bike. The panes protrude slightly inward radially inward from the base surface or inner surface, so that it is expedient if openings are made in the panes at ground level through which water which may enter can run off. The blades also expediently have openings to prevent air cushions from being trapped in the water when the blades enter the water, which impair the propulsion. Further embodiments of the invention are the subject of dependent claims.

Fig. 1 shows a cylindrical wheel 10, the inside 11 has a diameter which corresponds to a normal standing height, that is about 1.9 m. A row of radial blades 12 is arranged on the outside of the wheel and has through openings 12 a at the ends.

Its cross section is rectangular. It consists of two parallel annular vertical disks 13, 14, an inner ring 15 and an outer ring 16. The parts 13 to 16 are welded together. The resulting interior 17 is hollow.

Rings 13a, 14a are attached to the outer edge of the disks 13, 14, also by welding. Rings 13b, 14b are also fastened to the inside of the disks 13, 14 by welding.

The rings have a circular cross-section. The outer rings 13a, 14a protrude radially slightly beyond the blades 12, and therefore serve to protect the blades when rolling off and for better rolling on a solid surface. The blades 12 are also made of plastic and are welded to the rings 13a, 14a, the disks 13, 14 and the outer ring 16. The rings 13b, 14b serve above all to protect the person in the water bike.

The disks 13, 14 protrude slightly above the inner ring 11, so openings 18 are provided in the area through which water can escape.

From Fig. 1 it can also be seen that on each side with the disks 13, 14 three radial support struts 18a are arranged at the same circumferential distance. They are inserted into holes in disks 19, 20 and can be fastened there using screws 19a, 20a. The outer end of the struts 18a is inserted into corresponding clamping components 19b, 20b, where they can also be fixed with the aid of screws which are not designated. The disks 19, 20 are provided with an axial projection 19c, 20c in which a bearing component 19e, 20e is rotatably mounted. Two support struts 21 are fixedly connected to the bearing component 19e, 20e, similar to the connection described above. The angular outward and to the side struts 21 extend through an elongated, circular in cross-section floating body 22 and 23. The length of the support struts 21 in the floating body 22, 23 is variable, so that the height of the floating body 22, 23 with respect to Axis of rotation of the wheel 10 is changeable. Brackets 24 are attached to the floating bodies 22, 23 at the front and rear, can be pushed through the connecting rods 25, 26 and can be fixed with the aid of screws. As a result, the distance between the floats 22, 23 can be set to a limited extent.

With the help of a bearing component 26 fastened to the bearing component 19e, a control rod 27 is pivotably mounted with a handle 28. The other end of the rod 27 is rotatably mounted in a bearing component 29 fastened to the floating body 22. A rudder blade 30 is attached to the rod 27. By turning the rod 27, the position of the rudder blade 30 is changed so that a desired direction can be selected when the water pedal wheel is actuated.

A U-shaped bracket 31 is bent at 32 at the leg ends. The bent sections 32 are rotatably supported in the bearing disks 19 and 20, respectively. The bracket 31 is provided with a covering 33 in the web. The bracket 31 thus serves as a seat or for gripping while operating the water bike. 1 shows that the rudder device described can be attached to each side.

Man erkennt, daß die Schwimmkörper 22, 23 teilweise eingetaucht sind.3 shows the pivotability of the seat 31. 4 shows the operation of the water pedal wheel according to FIGS. 1 to 3. It can be seen that the floating bodies 22, 23 are partially immersed.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, two water wheels, as shown in FIG. 1, are coupled to one another. They are designated 10 and 10a. Since the structure of the water wheels 10, 10a is the same and the structure of the water wheel 1 is similar, will not be discussed in detail. It is essential that a rod 32 is connected to the bearing disks 20 which face each other and which couples the two water wheels 10, 10a to one another. There can be one person in each water wheel 10, 10a, so it is a tandem device. A chair, a seat, a container or the like can also be attached to the connecting rod 32, which can have different lengths. A sail can also be attached to the rod 32, and a mast can be located on a board to support the mast base, for example similar to the board of a standing glider.

13'a und 14'a zu Schutzzwecken verschweißt. The structure of the tandem water tricycle according to FIG. 6 is the same as the structure of the water tricycle according to FIGS. The blades 40 are welded in the lower region to a rod 41 which is pivotally mounted in bearing blocks 43, 44 at both ends of the blade 40. As can be seen from the sectional view C-C according to FIG. 6, the blades 40 can only move up to an angle of 90 ° with respect to the outer ring 16. A further movement is prevented by bumping the blade against the outside of the outer ring 16. In contrast, the blade can pivot in the opposite direction, as indicated by dashed lines and in solid lines in the right-hand illustration of FIG be returned to the radial position when immersed in water. The tandem water pedal bike shown can therefore only be moved in one direction, namely counterclockwise, by the pivoting blades in a standing position. If a sail is now set, flow resistance through the blades 40 is prevented when the tandem device is moved forward in the opposite direction. 7, the structure of the individual wheels 10b, 10c is similar to that of the wheels from the preceding figures. From the sectional view B-B it can be seen, however, that the inner ring 15a and the outer ring 16a protrude slightly beyond the annular disks 13a, 14a. The projecting ends are 13a and 14a, respectively. The protruding ends are in turn welded with rings 45 or 13'a and 14'a for protection purposes. Buckets, the outer circumference of which is circular, are designated by 12a. They are also pivotably mounted, namely on the same principle as the blades 40 according to FIG. 6. The blades 12a are also actuated by gravity, as can be seen from the right-hand illustration of FIG. 7. In order to ensure that the blades 12a actually pivot by 90 ° when immersed in the water, care must be taken to ensure that the blades do not run completely parallel to the associated ring disk when they are folded back. This can be achieved with the help of a suitable stop. In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, therefore, propulsion takes place only when the wheels 10b, 10c rotate counterclockwise. The tandem device shown in FIG. 7 can therefore also be moved forward with the aid of a sail or a motor if it is propelled in the opposite direction. A drive motor can be attached to the connecting rod 32, for example, while the propeller propeller is immersed in the water between the wheels 10a, 10b.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 8, a water pedal wheel 50 is shown, the structure of which corresponds to that according to FIG. 1, for example. Bars 53 are connected to them through the disks 51, 52, namely a total of six. The other rods 53, which thus project horizontally from the wheel 50, are connected to an auxiliary wheel 54. The auxiliary wheel has corresponding brackets 55 through which the rods 53 can be inserted. With the help of screws, not shown, the rods 53 can be fixed in the brackets 55. The auxiliary wheel 54 is a kind of boom, which stabilizes the wheel 50, on both sides. The auxiliary wheel 54 is preferably also molded from plastic. The rods are made of corrosion-resistant material. The rods 53 are also releasably connected to the wheel 50 in order to be able to use the wheel 50 elsewhere.
