Description

The invention relates to a device for cleaning the reed of a weaving machine, for. B. an air jet loom.

To clean the reed of a weaving machine, it may have to be removed from the machine and treated separately by hand or with a brushing machine. The warp threads must then be pulled back into the reed before it can be used in the machine. This type of cleaning is complicated and time consuming.

A direct cleaning of the reed inside the weaving machine itself has so far only been possible using a hand brush or compressed air. Such cleaning, in which the warp threads can remain drawn in the reed, is less time-consuming, but difficult for the operating personnel. The operator must go to work carefully so that the drawn-in warp threads are not injured. The dirt can then be sucked off using a suction device.

The invention has for its object to provide a cleaning device for the reed of a loom, the reed, in particular the slats in the region of the guide channel for the weft, effectively without contamination of an operator of impurities such. B. dust or sizing agent exempt. The invention is characterized by a structure adapted to the reed of the weaving machine, comprising
  • Means for guiding or carrying the device through the reed,
  • - Means for driving the cleaning device opposite the reed, and
  • - Means for automatic cleaning of the reed.

The means for guiding or carrying and driving the device are preferably adapted to the upper bar of the reed. The drive means are formed by two rollers and an endless belt over both rollers. The guide means comprise two bifurcated guide parts and a support roller for lateral support of the device on the reed. For cleaning, rotatably driven brushes are provided, which act laterally on the reed in the operating position of the device. Air drive motors, which can be supplied with compressed air via an air supply line, are preferably used for the drive.

The support roller 47 is supported against the slats 78. The device 21, with its lower end formed by the slat 52, is located above the relay nozzles 17.

Valve 27 in FIG. 2 is now pressed against the action of spring 25 to the right (arrow 26), so that the two motors 23, 41 receive compressed air. The endless drive 35 moves according to arrow 83, the brushes 45, 46 run according to arrow 84. The device 21 runs slowly on the reed 12 according to arrow 85 in FIG. 2 to the right. The fins 78 are cleaned by the brushes 45, 46, the dirt can fall into a lower collecting space 86.

When a sensor 87 attached to the device 21 strikes a stationary stop 88 fastened to the support 72, a switching rod 91 (FIG. 5) is moved to the left relative to the housing 22 against the action of a tension spring 92, as a result of which a pivotable by 93 Block 94 is pivoted according to arrow 95. As a result, a switching rod 96 articulated on the block 94 and a bolt 99 fastened thereon are moved downward in accordance with arrow 97, as a result of which valve 27 is released and moved to the left in FIG. 5 under the action of spring 25. Line 24 is closed, the motors 23, 41 stand still, the cleaning. process is finished.

If necessary, the dirt accumulating in the collecting space 86 can be removed by means of a suction nozzle 101 indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 2.

The passage cross section of the feed lines to the two motors 23, 41 can be adjusted by two throttle valves 103, 104 (FIG. 2), so that the speed of the motors and thus the speed of the movement of the device 21 on the reed 12 as well as the rotation the brushes 45, 46 can be adjusted. The device can be easily lifted off the reed by means of a handle 106 in order to lower it again into the operating position after the supports 71, 72 have been removed. After that, the web operation can be continued.

In a modified embodiment, electric motors are used instead of air motors 23, 41. If necessary, the movement of the device 21 on the reed 12 in accordance with arrow 85 and / or the rotary movement of the brushes 45, 46 can be carried out by means of a manually operated drive device, for example a crank drive. Instead of cleaning by means of cleaning brushes 45, 46, compressed air can optionally also be passed through the dirty slots (pipes) 107 located between the fins 78.

The brushes 45, 46 can also rotate counter to arrow 84 if an upper collecting space 86a is provided. The cleaning can also be done e.g. B. by spraying a cleaning liquid onto the rotating brushes 45, 46 (wet cleaning).
