Due to the greater force of the spring F 2 , the pin 11 engaging in the bore 16 of the closure plate 13 and assigned to the press ram 2 is pushed back completely, so that the connection between the press ram 2 and the closure plate 13 is released and the container 3 is closed again with the closure plate 13 (see Fig. 3c). The filled container 3, uncoupled from the press, can then be removed and a new container connected to the press.

Claims (9)

1. A refuse transfer plant having a container (3) that can be attached to and filled by a refuse compactor (1) and of which one open side that carries a closure plate (13) can be connected with the mouth of the press box (4) of the compactor (1), wherein a press ram (2) is arranged to be axially moveable, and in which the closure plate (13) and press ram (2) can be coupled by means of a locking and unlocking device (9), characterised in that the locking and unlocking device (9) comprises at least one pair of cooperating bolts (11, 14) that can be connected through a common power drive (18) and are each operatively connected to a return member, one bolt (11) of each pair being associated with the press ram (2) and the other (14) with the container, and that in the coupling position the two bolts (11, 14), acted on by forces in opposite senses, can engage coaxially in opposite senses in a coupling bore (16) in the closure plate (13).

A plant according to claim 1, characterised in that the bolts (11, 14) are guided in bores (26, 15 respectively) that run at right angles to the direction of movement (P) of the press ram (2), and that either individually or together, as desired, they can bring the closure plate (13) into alignment with the coupling bore (16).
3. A plant according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised by at least one side wall (24) of the closure plate (13) running at right angles to the closure plate (13), through which the coupling bore (s) (16) extend.
4. A plant according to any one or more of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the return members (12, 17) are respectively fixed to the press ram (2) and to the container (3).
5. A plant according to claim 4, characterised in that the forces acting in opposite senses on the bolts (11 ; 14) are exerted by springs (F1, F2) acting on the respective bolts.
6. A plant according to claim 2 or claim 3, characterised in that the force of the spring (F2) of the return member (17) fixed to the container (3) is greater than the force of the spring (F1) of the return element (12) fixed to the press ram (2).
7. A plant according to any one or more of claims 3 to 6, characterised in that the face (24a) of the side wall (24) facing the press ram (2) has a chamfered run-off surface (25).
8. A plant according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the locking or unlocking device is arranged in the door (10), in a longitudinal wall, in the floor or in the cover of the container.
