Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a codable connector with a first and a second plug part, to which coding pieces can be attached in such a way that only plug parts with an adapted arrangement of the coding pieces can be joined together.
In a known connector of this type (DE-AS 28 07 017) coding pieces are attached to the two connector parts at different points in the area of the contact elements. The arrangement of the coding pieces on both connector parts is adapted to one another in such a way that only the same coded connector parts can be joined together. The projections or recesses of the respective coding pieces extend in the alignment of the contact elements, so that the two matching plug parts are inserted into one another with front surfaces running parallel to one another.
The invention has for its object to provide a codable connector that ensures a secure connection of the two connector parts by suitable attachment of the coding pieces even under spatially difficult conditions.
To solve this problem, the second plug part is rotatably held on the first plug part in a codable plug connector of the type mentioned, rotation of which causes the plug parts to be joined or removed from one another and is in the region of the rotatable holder on the first and second plug parts each one of the coding pieces arranged, which lie against each other in the assembled connector.
The plug connector according to the invention is advantageous in that the attachment of the coding pieces in the region of the rotatable holder in a simple manner reliably prevents plug parts that do not belong together from being plugged together even at the initial stage of plugging together. With the rotatable mounting of the second plug part, the plug parts can only be plugged together or loosened due to the leverage effect. The arrangement of the coding pieces ensures that when the plug parts that do not belong together are put together before the turning of the contact elements, the coding pieces block further rotation. The fact that only one coding piece with a corresponding coding is attached to each plug part means that the coding pieces can be exchanged in a simple manner.
The coding is advantageously produced in such a way that recesses or projections are provided on the opposite surfaces of the two coding pieces which run parallel to the axis of rotation and which engage when the two plug parts are joined together.
In order to enable the two coding pieces to mesh as closely as possible, the opposing surfaces of the coding pieces are cylindrical or hollow-cylindrical with the axis of rotation as the cylinder axis. The coding piece in the rotatable second plug part is cylindrical on the side facing away from the axis of rotation and the second coding piece on the first plug part opposite is hollow cylindrical on the side facing the first coding piece, so that the two opposite surfaces can slide against each other when the second connector part is rotated.
In order to enable simple exchange of the coding pieces on the plug parts, the coding pieces have fastening pins with which they can be snapped into corresponding recesses on the first or second plug part.
